I made an online appt for an xpress haircut. According to the online description that included shampooing and conditioning.
I get there for my appt and Debrea Brown starts combing out my hair and asking me how I would like my hair cut. I told her i wanted it layered and feathered on the sides and to take a straight inch off the back and not to layer the back. She starts by spraying my hair with a water. I told her I booked online and it said it included a shampoo and conditioning. She said no it did not- look at the appt booking website people.
Debrea Brown made a few cuts and asked if there was there anything else? Are you kidding me? She had not even started! I grabbed a fistful of my hair and told her- this should all be gone and you did not layer and feather my hair like I asked you. She looks at my hair and gives me a look that she has no idea what to do. I was not aware this was rocket science! Out of frustration I put my head in my hands and she leaves.
I pick up my phone to find her a pic of what I want. I don't know where Debrea went off to. Few minutes later she comes back with her supervisor. I tell her what I would like and immediately she goes to work and knows exactly what I am talking about. The supervisor explains that Debrea is just a stylist and trains her by doing only the right side of my head. She leaves and lets the Debrea do the left side. Again she is clueless, she continually asks we what she needs to cut next. If I wanted to do a self cut I would have stayed home!
At the end, I should have had the supervisor come back. I saw that it was lopsided, but hoped it was just the way the hair dried from the spray bottle.
WARNING- DO NOT LET DEBREA BROWN CUT YOU HAIR SHE IS CLUELESS! I do not know how she was able to pass the test to get her cosmetology license. Cutting layers into hair is a basic technique!
The next day I called the salon to speak to the manager. I was told to call back on Monday. Monday I called and spoke to Sherri explaining that one side of my hair is longer with more layers in it and that it looks goofy. She sympathized with me and offered to fix it. We made an appt for me to see her on Wed.
Wed I go to the salon and Sherri is not there. Are you kidding me? She did not even have the common courtesy to call me to let me know. She texted another stylist to fix the problem who had just found out herself when I showed up at the appt time.
This new stylist was also clueless. She kept looking at my hair and combing it. Finally she told me she did not know how to fix it. I told her I wanted to speak to the owner of the JcPenney.
I was taken to the busiess office. Apparently, Sherri had informed them of the sitation and the woman seemed shocked that I had not received a call from her. I got my money back and canceled my JcPenny charge card. Very poor customer service. read more
