I have made exactly 6 purchases from Jbugs. All over $100. Though that should not matter. Every order has had an issue. Either missing items, wrong items (twice for same thing) or just slow going and arriving. I recently placed another order (reluctantly) I ordered on a Thursday, it didn't ship till the following Monday night. I emailed sales and explained my frustration with my experiences with Jbugs. I received an email back from Jake stating only "Your order was shipped the day it was placed". A complete false statement. So I called today and asked for a manager. When I explained everything with the order and the matter of fact email from Jake, I really didnt get much in the way of making it right. And when I stated that the customer service is lacking and they could easily be losing business to Wolfsburg West (who is far superior in quality and customer service) He puffed up and said"oh I seriously doubt that would ever happen". Guess what ? You did. I will not give Jbugs anymore of my money. read more

Tried ordering $300 worry of parts and was charged twice for them and then they called me and told me my card was declined because they tried to charge me a third time. They also said that my billing address was wrong when they ran my card the first time, which it isn't and has never been. When I called to straighten this all out I was treated very poorly by Caesar. They have NO idea how to run a business. I have NEVER had such a hard time ordering something from an online store. Oh and after canceling my order I still don't have the 600 back that is "pending". read more

Ordered an interior kit for our 67 ghia. Before ordering I chatted online with them and was told what items were in stock and what would take a while longer. Immediately after ordering I was left a message informing me that they had my order and would be sending me what was in stock and what had to be made from the manufacturer. I ordered 4 small items from Jbugs, the website said all were in stock. 2 weeks goes by, no word. I call and ask for an update. I was told they were still preparing my order. I ask when it might ship and was told they did not know. It's been three weeks and still nothing. I called and said I'd like to cancel the order, I need not want the parts. I was told I could not cancel. Now that is what I call service, NOT!!!!!!! It does not help, but be assured no more JBugs orders from me. read more

I ordered an early type1 6v starter and was told it was the last one in stock. The sales manager Tom even pulled the item off the shelf and set it aside while we were still on the phone. He guaranteed the item would ship in two days and I should have it by Monday.. A week and a half later the item had still not arrived. I called and spoke to Tom and he said the item was sold to someone else and I was out of luck because it would be a minimum of three weeks to get another. What a waste of time. Don't waste your time here. Read the reviews, or even go to other sites like samba.com and read the reviews for this place. They lie lie lie, told me the shipping would be 10.08 for item that they didn't have in stock, (go figure advertise but don't actually have) when I got the charge receipt 22.48. Bunch of liers there , spend your money elsewhere and the shipping is usally free too, even if the part is higher by the time they stick it to you on the shipping the cost is the same. I'm in the process of restoring a Beetle. I've placed 3 major orders with no problems. The key is to call and talk to a service rep, even if you place your order online. Man, sorry to see all the negative feedback on yelp, but my experience was great. I ordered on line and it was pretty easy to order what I needed. I ordered several items including door weather strips, window weather strips and the window trims. I received an e-mail stating I needed to call them to confirm the purchase because I was shipping it to a different address than my billing address. After everything was cleared, I received the items the next day. The items came in a large box and well sealed. Communication, delivery and purchase experience was great. Have ordered several times and so far everything was delivered as ordered. The only issue has been on a return. I returned 2 brake hoses and asked for a trade for different brakes hoses which were the exact same price. That was about 3 weeks ago and still nothing. read more

Placed an online order and got an order confirmation right away. Then over a week later still no order. I'm only one state away so I called to inquire. Items are out of stock and aren't expected for several weeks. This whole time my project has been on hold I assumed my items were en route. I'm disappointed in the flippant demeanor of the guy who answered the phone. He offered to refund my money but cares nothing about serving customers. JBug , where do I start . I placed an order that was Back ordered I understand that . What I don't understand is not getting back to on the ETA of my order. I called the third time to hear my order was never placed but my credit card was charged. I luckily found a order # and it was tracked down. You see JBugs had changed the order system an not transferred the data from the old system so it appeared that I never ordered anything. When brought to there attention I was given a slight refund. That gives them one star in my book. Calling in to check on my order brought me to a representative who knew not of the product in question. I then asked to speak to the supervisor and got a guy so jack up that I could not ask a question he talked non stop on how I ordered the wrong product. It all worked out in the end because the product in question fits my year. Just bad service and really bad customer relations. Its time to have a mgr seminar on how to do business . Service sucks. I ordered a pre-oil strainer and it was shipped in an envelope without protection and the screen was crushed. I contacted JBugs, sent them a photo and their reply was that they could send another but most likely it would be crushed also. I the contacted AirHeads and they have assured me that their screens are shipped in a protected box to prevent crushing. Looks like I will be completing my resto with AirHeads, not JBugs! read more

I ordered a variety of parts for my ghia. Everything came on time and shipped nicely. I did a quick inventory on what came and cross checked with what I had ordered. Everything was there. Assuming I am similar to most others who have old project cars, I purchase a bunch of parts, and then slowly install and figure stuff out during my weekends and free time. A few parts sitting around for a few weeks isn't anything crazy! So my latest install was the front brake system. Master cylinder, discs, calipers, bearings, lines, resovoir and such. Took me a couple weeks to finish. Had to get bearings pressed and all. After install, the brakes had a little wobble to them, so I visually inspected (I'm no pro) removed the discs, had the bearings repressed and re installed. Still had a wobble. So I paid to have the car towed to a reputable local air cooled mechanic. So today he told me that one of the front rotors was warped... Now that is suppose to be one of the brand new rotors I had recieved a couple months back. I called Jbugs to see what they could do.. The guy on the phone compared my situation to getting food at a restaurant, and telling them two months later that it is moldy.... He pretty much told me that I'm out of luck and that he will sell me another one at a discount. That's fine, and I'm already having my mechanic get me a new one. I just think it's messed up that they can't help me out. Im the bigger man by still giving them a good rating despite the poor customer service representative. read more

Probably my first and last order from jbugs. Things to keep in mind are: On the order it is stated that they calculate shipping when the order is packaged. In reality they charged me shipping when I ordered it. Also if you call to get a shipping quote make sure you get it in writing as their actual shipping was 2x more than my quote. My fault for not getting the quote in writing though. Keep in mind as well that if they have items on back order (they won't tell you) then they will "ship" the other items to you first (charge you for shipping) and then "ship" the other items later (charge you for shipping here as well). They don't inform you that items may be shipped separately though and you would have to call to reduce your shipping cost (make them ship them together and just wait) due to them not having enough in inventory. Due to one of my items being on back order they decided instead of shipping separately they would wait until the item came in before shipping anything (two weeks) and then they were still going to charge me for shipping them separately until I called to complain (called because of the long wait and the 2x my shipping quote). The end shipping was still more than my quote and even when they "shipped" (sent me the tracking info) it still took them 3 more days to actually get the package to FedEx. Overall just not worth the money I saved (wasn't much) going through them versus going somewhere else. read more

I'm not sure if I should blame JBugs or not, but TMI, the manufacturer, lists the carpet kit carpet colors. I ordered "saddle" loop. I received the box, but the color is definitely medium brown, not the light golden brown shown on the website. So, if you're making an order consider that the colors on the JBugs website, which are directly from TMI, will be different. read more

Paid $35.47 for 2 taillight bulb holders, part # 111945263F. I received poorly made junk. They are so poorly made that you can't even fit taillight bulbs in them. The "Chrome" reflective surface quality is so poor that I could have done better spraying the insides of my old holders with silver spray paint. In addition, Jbugs never sends you the postal tracking number, even though they have it. You have to call them to find out where your parts are. This is the second time I have received poor quality, useless junk parts from Jbugs. There are way too many other places to buy from, for me to put up with such terrible service. Frankly the first person treated me like I was an idiot and talked like he was speaking to a toddler. Called again and the man was much more respectful. I am a degreed engineer but a senior citizen. Dangerous. Dangerous. Dangerous.... to the wallet! These guys are great, they're quick and if you need tech assist regarding parts (i.e. ordering the right one), you're in good hands. I have ordered quite a bit of stuff from them, either online or drove the 30+ minutes to go there and they are quick. Jbugs sold me a set of "the Best available" door panels with masonite backing, they say. They were a cardboard backed panel and the first year I installed they warped into a knot. Contacted them and they said it was my fault. I had waited to install until I installed brand new door and window rubber kits so as to not have a problem. They said it was because I did not install a vapor barrier, which they said, if I had gone to the whatsit and clicked on the whosit and then clicked on the howsit I would have seen that they required a new vapor barrier. There was no instruction sheet included with the panels that say the barrier had to be installed for warranty, which isn't worth the paper it is written on.There hasn't been a vapor barrier on my doors for years and the original 1971 door panels were not warped or falling apart, they were just old and getting grimy, so I replaced. Then they accused me of lying to them as to when I installed them. Then they wanted to sell me another set of cardboard backed with no sealant applied to them and were perturbed that I did not want to spend more money for something I already paid for. read more

Ordered 3 items on 10/26/16. Heard nothing for a week. Called on 11/2/16 and was told that the order was being delayed pending restock of one of the ordered items. Item expected to be in stock "in a week or two". Helluva way to do business if you ask me. I will be using another source for my VW parts henceforth. At least other merchants show 'out of stock' on items they do not have instead of the 'in stock' status shown at Jbugs. read more

Really bad experience with these guys. I looked on the website to make sure that that had a part. I decided to make the drive to the warehouse in order to save time and money on shipping. when I got there they told me they had to order the part. I had to pay up front and was told it would arrive in 2 days. When I called three days later, it had not arrived. 4 days later they told me that the truck had still not gotten there. 6 days later they said that the box did not get on the truck and would be fed ex'd the next day. The next day they finally told be that the part was back ordered and would be available in a month. I was really pissed at that point, but it got worse when I was told that they couldn't refund my credit card over the phone. I had to come in with the card to get refunded. Meanwhile I ordered the part from one of their competitors and received it in two days and with shipping it was only $3 more than I paid at jbugs without shipping. This was maybe the worst retail experience I've ever had. Go elsewhere for your parts. read more

This place is horrible. I will never use them again, they do not tell you the shipping cost until they have already charged you, then it takes them about a week to get everything shipped out with another week to wait for delivery. when you call to ask about your order the people there are very rude. I would recommend Chirco.com this guy is awesome I ordered parts from them the same day as jbugs recieved my parts a day before i even got a shipping conformation from jbugs. and they stand behind there products unlike jbugs. jbugs wouldnt even replace my shifter knob when i told them the packaging had some how stuck to it causing a blemish they advised me that couldnt have happend even though i called them 10 min after my package was delivered. now I also had a problem with a head from chirco.com I blow a spark plug out which could very easily been my fault from over tightening. I called joe and he said one sentance " no problem send it back and we will start building you a new one. the delay cause me 1 week down time. I dont see that ever happening at jbugs. now chirco is a little more expensive then jbugs but as you will see jbugs makes up for it in there blind shipping charge. read more

I recently purchased several items for my refurbished 1967 VW sedan. One of the items I purchased was a WINDOW CRANK, STOCK W/ALUMINUM KNOB. First off let me tell the instillation was extremely difficult, no instructions supplied on how to remove old window crank, and install new window crank. After finally installing the window cranks, I attempted to crank both windows on the left and right and was successful in doing the right but when I attempted to crank the left window the handle snapped right off. When I inspected the broken handle I noticed there was a defect in the aluminum which caused the handle to structurally fail. I called JBUGS, and was informed that they would send me a new handle, but the customer rep followed up his remarks with.."You know that some cars are old, and the windows can be difficult to crank due to the old inner window mechanism in some cars". I feel there was no need on his part to make the assumption that I could have been the cause of the handle breaking, and not the fact that the item itself was defective. I haven't returned any items to JBUGS in the past or tried to get something for free because I made a mistake. When I informed him that my 1967 Bug was a brand new total rebuild and that the window mechanisms were new, he still insisted that I needed to know that other things can cause the problem besides the item in question was defective. There are too many companies that sell Vintage VW parts, so I say adios to JBUGS, no need to use your company again. read more

this place is obviously suffering from too much business based on the lack of concern for customers and the orders that are placed... their ad in the popular VW magazine prominantly displays a claim that they have largest selection of interiors and have been doing it for 26 years... buyer be warned for someone who claims to be doing this for 26 years you would think that A) Would not lie and say something is coming in later that day and it would be sent out same day... only to call back and follow up and be told its 2 weeks out B) Stock a common basic color item for vehicles they claim to specialize in C) Want to attemp to make things right instead of state "thats just how it is". I guess im in the wrong and its my fault as im typing this to the right of my screen I see im not overreacting but rather another who mistakenly has made the wrong choice to shop with someone who's creative advertising is working better than the company's desire to create repeat and referral business, which last time I checked in my career as a General Sales Manager of a Major volume franchise dealership in the Pacific Northwest is the best bang for my buck. thumbs down.... maybe you'll fix it or maybe its time to sell to CIP or Pierside... read more
