to jonaTHAN and his crew of JBUENAVENTS, thank you all for such an awesome catering service this past weekend. without your team, our baby shower would have just been another backyard barbeque. in fact, many thanks for going beyond the call of duty by staying later than expected and continually topping off them chafing dishes. reasons like this is what makes or breaks a service like yours.
without further adieu, here's the lowdown for you yelpers:
CHINESE CHICKEN SALAD W/SESAME DRESSING: refreshing and light. great touch with them dried noodles but I believe that the dressing was what made the dish.
ISLAND STYLE POTATO MAC SALAD: oh my! why doesn't all potato mac taste this good? tho im not a fan of any mac salad, I must say that this dish sure propels me to want and try more potato mac salad. Im not certain what brought the flavors out but it was sure TASTY!
CHICKEN KATSU: tho the first few batches were a bit dry, the middle to the last batch was perfect. the panko bread crumbs were done evenly and the chicken were uniformly chopped into generous portions. great presentation! however, what made this dish was the sauce. whatever that secret sauce was... it was TASTY!
SESAME CHICKEN: this was by-far, my favorite dish of the day. perfectly breaded, light and crispy on the outside and OH-SO-TENDER on the inside. my my my... forget the sauce that was recommended to be used. with every bite, my taste buds just saying, "more more more!" perhaps it was the deep fryer that made the meat so tender, but whatever it was certainly made this finger-licking piece of chicken JUICAAYY! overall, the taste had a nice tangy zesty kick and was very rich flavor. the sesame chicken is perfect the way it is. no sauce whatsoever needed. I certainly recommend this dish!
BEEF SLIDERS ON HAWAIIAN ROLL: sorry to say, but the meat was a bit dry. flavor was up to par, but didn't score high enough to be recon. I'll give it another try tho.
FRIED RICE W/PINEAPPLE BACON: bacon, need I say more?
THAN'S FAMOUS SPAM MASUBI: spam, something so simplistic but yet so flavorful. then again, with a little pinch of 'this' and a little pinch of 'that,' you'll soon know why it's named THAN'S FAMOUS SPAM MASUBI!
my wife and I can't wait to bring your crew back out again for another event so that we can taste the other items on your menu. more importantly... I -personally, can't wait to bring your crew back so that my guests can "ooo-aww" over the professional setup and envy the luxuries of catering. nothing beats the enjoyment of not having to hassle with prepping and cooking -let alone, entertain my guests. CHEERS!
