Our son was born one day before his little baby best friend, and we parents got together and hosted a birthday party for our two precious two-year-old boys. We'd all gone to another kid birthday a few months earlier, and the caterer for that party was so good that we decided to ask for a reference. We weren't even the only party guests to ask for this info--Fernando's Catering is just that great. I'd hired a full-service taco stand for a prior house party, and while I'd do it again, this drop-off catering option was much easier and more cost-friendly. I contacted Fernando's through Yelp and they were responsive and communicative throughout the whole process. We agreed on a menu and drop-off time, and we took care of payment over Zelle. Joselyn showed up when I asked her to (I even delayed the time by half an hour with only a day's notice) and set everything up nicely before she left. Fernando's brings a whole taco station to your house, complete with warming trays, plates, forks, and napkins. The minimum cost is $10 a person with a 20-person minimum, plus an $80 service fee, which is waived if you order for 50 or more people. The standard package includes three types of meat--steak, chicken, and pork al pastor--along with grilled mixed vegetables, tortillas, and several toppings--onions, cilantro, lime, and red and green salsas. You can add guac, chips, rice and beans, or quesadillas for an addition $1 per person. We opted to add quesadillas for the kids but bought our own chips. The food is tasty and the per person portioning quite generous--we had a lot of leftovers, and not because people weren't eating. Just as important for this kind of thing, I found the catering team easy to work with and the hands-off set-up super convenient for a party with a lot of kids roaming around. Some of the other catering places i called were short, rude, and sounded disorganized.
