Builtmore is a family owned and operated construction service specializing in building new Patio…read moreCovers, Decks, and Fences, along with Dry Rot Repairs to existing wood structures. The quality of their work is exceptional. They are located in Rocklin and have a very large service area. Vic, along with his brother, work at every job they accept. They are very easy to work with, focus on the small quality details that makes a job stand out, and want complete customer satisfaction. Their typical detail work on decks extends to their fence construction, and it's just about impossible to find anyone that will build to a higher quality than Builtmore. They provided the most competitive bid for my fence, and gave me the choice of materials to be used, whether I wanted to stay with a more budget fence, or upgrade to a full redwood fence. The difference in cost of materials was very low for the upgrade, so it was easy to choose the redwood option, including pressure treated redwood posts, the best in the industry. They use Berco Lumber for their fence and decking materials, with a wide range of redwood and pressure treated lumber to accommodate every project. The work team kept the property clean during the construction, was always available and enjoyed answering any questions I had, and was a pleasure to have on the property. Total and complete clean-up afterwards, leaving not a trace that they had been on the property, and that included excess dirt from making new post holes, old fencing, etc. If you need a large area of fence replaced in one day, Builtmore is not the place to call. If you want a superior level of quality in your fence and have two or three days to complete the job, then Builtmore is the contractor to call first. Nobody in our area will beat them for price and quality, and Victor is always available by phone if you have any questions or concerns. I couldn't have been happier with the results of my fence project that concluded this morning. The fit and finish is perfect and I feel I received great value for the quality of materials and workmanship provided by Builtmore. Call Victor for an estimate and see for yourself how competitive his bid is compared to other fence companies in the area. He will detail the cost of materials to you, too, something that I was not able to get in any other bids from local fence contractors. Vic came out to my home the next day after I called requesting a quote, and returned all of my calls very quickly when he wasn't immediately available. Builtmore has a 5 star rating on Home Advisor and other sites where clients have used his services. It's well deserved. California State Contractors License #1049829

James "Smylie" Kinne designed, fabricated and installed a 26 foot electronic gate with a Viking controller, and two 24 foot manual gates for me over ten years ago! He has had to make some minor adjustments to the chain length and remote antenna placement (due to heavy snows), and he responded within 24 hours, trudging through the snow to fix the problem! Customer service seems to be an archaic idea these days, but Smylie exemplifies service, honesty, and craftsmanship. And, he takes great pride in his creations. Update: I was so pleased with the back fence that I talked…read moremy neighbor into doing our shared side fence with Froggy Fence. Completely different experience. It took weeks to complete and was completely sub standard. The fence between our yards was down for over a week and another neighbor had to bring over a construction fence to prevent my blind dog from falling in the neighbors pool. Rather than a two sided fence, my neighbor opted to just have my side finished and she was good with the unfinished back side. I asked Chris to make sure all boards were touching so I didn't have big gaps between the boards. It actually looks like he used a spacer and the boards aren't even dry yet so it will be worse. There's a 2 x 6 kick board at the bottom and a big gap between the fence boards and the kick board. Numerous boards split and cracked when he put them up and he just went ahead and stained over them. Neither of the gates are level. Two of the post holes were not filled all the way with cement. I made the mistake of paying Chris before noticing all the problems. I repeatedly called and sent texts that went ignored for weeks. Finally I threatened to file a complaint with the BBB, take him to court and leave bad reviews. Only then did he come out and fill the post holes, replace the cracked boards, and finish staining the top rail. Everytime I look at my $7K fence (my side only for 100') I get mad. The gaps look really bad and as a former woodworker, the unlevel gates drive me nuts. I paid what I consider a premium price for quality work, but this time the quality workmanship just was not there. The first fence was built predominantly by his employee Edgar, who apparently no longer works there.

The first time they were here they took out a small group of 4 tall, skinny oaks that were on a small slope so our Internet will work. And two other dead trees next to our house. The second time we had a VERY large, VERY old oak with a hollow, twisted trunk that we discovered (late in the afternoon) had cracked and was in danger of falling onto a busy road. they came out the next day to assess and quote, and rescheduled a previous appointment of theirs, so they could take it down the next morning, since it was potentially dangerous. The tree came down, and was cut and stacked in under 3 hours. The whole end-to-end took less than 30 hours to complete, averting what could have been a very tragic event. I'm thankful for their quick response.
