The son (Francesco Finocchiaro) of Santo Finocchiaro was going to try to charge me $750 when I met with him. This insulting price was to prepare two fairly simple tax filings. Keep in mind that only two weeks earlier while shopping for an accountant to help with my taxes I had been quoted $250. That was to prepare both filings. This was quoted to me by an entirely separate and unrelated accountant working in another town. I have every reason to believe the father, Santo Finocchiaro was a reputable accountant who up to this point built a solid business and understood the meaning of what is fair. As for doing business with the son though, I say be safe. I wouldn't have a thing to do with him. Attempting to price gouge his customers strongly suggests an opportunist. That young man has a lot to learn about word of mouth in regards to reputation and what is fair when dealing with customers. That is of course if he ever wants any of them to return to do business with him again. If I could have given this business a lower rating than just one star - I would have. And NO. I would not refer this business now to anyone nor will I stop warning people of my experience there. What's fair is fair.

well after my review below which I wrote a few hours ago, when I tried to pay the $455.00 bill…read moretoday (and yes I have a copy of that $455.00 bill he gave me) I could not because he had my file in his office and was on the phone so gal in the front couldn't get it to bill me and provide me with a copy of what he said was sent to the IRS (which I later discovered he had NOT sent until after I paid.) Hours later front desk calls me and says I can now come in and pay. So I go in and he is fussing about asking me questions which were quite superfluous but then when I attempted to pay the bill, it is now $640 AND I am only getting a little over a $1000 back though he previously said I'd be getting almost $2000. To tell the truth, it's not only the money, deception and the overt incompetence, it is that I cannot be the only person he's done this to.

I had previously had a great experience here when I lived Andover; I have had HORRIBLE experiences at the location in Woburn (that's another story for another yelp review). Quick, painless and actually informative. I almost enjoyed my experience here... almost because it is still tax stuff. Margarita made the process so easy and provided some tips that will help with next years return. If you go, definitely try to get her. If I'm forced to do taxes and too lazy to do them myself, I would mach rather go to the Andover location that any other H&R block.
