I brought my 2004 Toyota Camry into JBS Auto Services with a whole lot of issues (noises in the AC unit, smelling gasoline after turning off engine, check engine light on, hesitation when accelerating, etc). I had been putting off taking it to a shop because I'm so horrified of being ripped of since I don't know anything about cars. But I'm so happy I found out about JBS and brought it to them. Chris was super nice and understanding with me while I explained to him all the issues. He was able to give me an estimate in a few hours that was actually a lot less than I was anticipating. He explained what my car needed and why without overwhelming me with too much information that I wouldn't understand. He also explained what I needed to have fixed ASAP and what issues could wait a little bit. I was going to have to leave my car there over the weekend and he offered to meet me there on his day off to get me my car back after it was fixed so I wouldn't haven't to go without a car the whole weekend. Then, to my surprise he made sure my car was done early for me on Friday right before they closed for the weekend. I really appreciated the fast and professional service and never plan on taking my car anywhere else. It's running great again and I feel safe on the road knowing I put my car in the right hands. I have a Acura MDX and have taken it to the TO Acura dealership ever since I bought it. I developed and under-carriage wind rattle noise that drove me crazy. I asked the dealership for a year and a half every time I took my car in for general maintenance to find the problem and they told me every time they could not figure it out. I finally said screw them and looked in Simi and found JBS. One visit this week to JBS and problem solved and they did not charge me for fixing the problem. So a couple days ago i asked for a recommendation on an honest and trustworthy mechanic & you guys recommended JBS. They were just the crew I needed after 3 bad experiences with other shops. Chris from JBS helped me and made everything understandable to a WOMAN lol everything from the work, the parts, and everything else in between that i was clueless about. From the start, I knew my car would be in great hands because they seemed passionate about their job. Although their customer satisfaction was very reassuring, I left thinking I'd need a new alternator along with new sparkplugs (Not so great for my wallet). But after my car was (thoroughly) reviewed, they let me know I'd only need new sparkplugs, as my alternator was ok! Unfortunately, mishaps do happen and throughout the process of returning my alternator, a small fuze blew. This maybe upsetting but chris was honest about it and handled it well! Not only did they replace the broken fuze FREE OF CHARGE, they also found the right problem (which 3 other shops couldn't). Although this was a 2 day job (ordering the parts) and the time he spend trying to find the problem, Chris didn't give up! I payed only for my new sparkplug, no labor cost (they took hours trying to figure out the problem)! Not only was car happy but my wallet was too! So in the end JBS will now be my go-to shop as I feel I can truly trust the service and know I will be getting my money's worth! The guys were super nice and honest. Chris didn't give up, he was determined to find out what was wrong and I'm so glad he did because as a single parent of 3 kids I NEED a car i can depend on 24/7. read more

First off, Jerry seems to do good work, and also seems to be an honest mechanic, which can be hard to find. He did not do the oil change I asked him to do, but that wasn't a huge deal. As I was checking out, I showed them the 10% off for new customers offer, and his worker said he's never seen it. He sent it to Jerry via text and Jerry said he's never seen it, but would call me and offer me a refund if necessary. No call, so I called back a week later, and he's nowhere to be found. I called Yelp and they said that Jerry put this offer on his site, with his company email address, about 5 years ago. If you don't want to extend this offer, just take it down. read more

I recently bought a used Infinity G37 and brought it here to have inspected. A month or two later I brought it in for some noise in the suspension. They checked it out and tightened some bolts, which fixed the issue. They didn't try to sell me any parts or services I didn't need. In fact, they didn't even charge me for the visit. At first great customer service for a check engine light that came on and it was taken care of, so I thought. Light came on again and same story probably about 8 times. I bring my truck to Jerry and its always "im swamped". I dont care! Then hire someone else. I spent over $500 the light still comes on and then im treated like he doesn't have time for me. My wife's 04 Ford Taurus was having problems starting- she was having to keep the starter going for 10-15 seconds before it would fire. One morning it wouldn't start, so I put it on my home changer and after a few hours when fully charged it worked fine- sort of- because she had to crank the starter for a long time - 10-15 seconds - to get it to start. I know how to work on cars and I take care of my own OLD cars and race cars but I don't like working on new cars. I figured it was going to need new coils, fuel pump or something $$$. A few days later it was dead and wouldn't even jump start. Knowing it had an issue and it was probably more than I could diagnose I had been looking for a new place to get it repaired- using Yelp. Biased on the good reviews on Yelp I decided on JBS Auto Service in Simi Valley. AAA took it over and dropped it off in the early evening and we left a note and keys in mailbox. First thing next am. I get a call from Jerry. We discussed my car and he pointed out the fact that the battery was over 6 years old and wasn't really holding a charge. I asked him to put a battery in it so he quoted me a good price and I had him do it. - because I know you can't diagnose electrical issues with a low/dead batt. An hour or so later the phone rings. it's Jerry informing me that he thinks it's the starter and that even though the starter turns its not going fast enough. OK??? I think- I have never heard of that before. Jerry quoted me a very reasonable price so I had him do it. Another hour or so later Jerry calls me back and says "It's fixed" went in to fetch it and it was fixed just like new. I'm very happy to have found this folks and will use them next time I need auto repair or maintenance. read more

Checked Yelp for a decent place to replace a Drive Belt and do transmission service. Called JBS and spoke to Jerry in the morning. He called me back with a quote for the job which was a better deal than 3 other places which included the local dealership which is where we have been servicing the car. I've been going to Jerry for almost 10 years and I keep going back because I know he's going to give me the right job at the right price.
