I'll start with the positive: the food here was actually pretty good and especially the tonkatsu…read moreramen (duh). The scallion pancake was overfried and the tea I had was way too sweet. I get it that ramen is not a health food, but everything felt a little on the extra greasy side. The real issue was the dining experience! Essentially, the place is a dispenser for Uber drivers and takeout customers sitting there playing on their phones. The decor inside is very basic and devoid of any real character. Think of your run of the mill cheap Chinese restaurant. The constant stream of delivery drivers and ringing bells just made it awkward to sit and wait for the food, which took way longer than expected, even though I was promised it wouldn't, again because of the constant stream of orders. The staff was slightly rude and not very attentive but they were totally overwhelmed. Each time a delivery driver comes and goes, which is practically non-stop, you get a big blast of cold wet air from outside. Also, even though I clearly stated "for here," my food came packaged up to go in a s*** ton of disposable plastic. I get it, mistakes happen or I was misheard, but it just added to the feeling that you are not supposed to sit and eat on premises. It has a similar vibe to when you walk into a $tarbuck$ nowadays and try to order in person at the counter and they give you a quizical look to let you know you are doing it wrong for not using the app or whatever. Overall, it is great that this place seems to be thriving and busy and I wish them success. I will give it another shot. Just don't eat there on person!

The bartender/server was very friendly, but my veggie ramen took 20 minutes to come out and was lukewarm. Not very flavorful, full of raw cabbage. Tofu was extra. Not a fan. My server was nowhere to be seen for a while so I flagged down a different server to ask for my check, she said she'd bring it right away. Then I watched her spend 10 minutes talking to other tables, running food, doing anything but walk to the POS station in clear view of me to print my bill. I work in a restaurant and that sort of stuff really bothers me, because it's a huge no-no at my restaurant. It's rude and one of the fastest ways to upset a guest. A manager noticed I was sitting at my table looking grumpy and came over to ask if everything was ok. I told him I'd been waiting for my bill for a while and he went over and got it for me within 30 seconds. He comped my tofu which was nice, but still, I've never been to a ramen restaurant where the veggie ramen didn't come with tofu. I left half the ramen in the bowl because the flavor was just bad and it wasn't hot. I would absolutely not come back here or recommend it to anyone.

I got the Malay Curry noodle soup with tofu & vegetables, and buckwheat noodles ($20). It took about 15-20 minutes to arrive despite them being dead, but once the food arrived, I was happy... until I realized they forgot the tofu! Once I told server, they brought out a side of steamed unseasoned tofu right away. The broth was pretty rich and well-spiced, with a deep Malaysian laksa-like broth, lots of veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrot and bell peppers), with a generous serving of buckwheat noodles. Pretty tasty stuff overall, albeit a bit pricey. Good spot overall, especially for a such a small town.
