Every interaction with this company was exceptional. My salesman was Mike Mikesell and he was fantastic! He came out in July and quoted me on a new roof and gutters. He did a thorough inspection and even had his boss Kyle out to reevaluate the ventilation in my attic space. I signed contract and material arrived a few weeks later. When the storm that came through on 8/11/26 a large limb impelled into my roof and a bedroom. Fortunately, the new roof had not been installed yet! The roof was tarped quickly by JB West and Mike was here the day the insurance adjuster came out to evaluate the damage. JB West also referred me to a contractor who was available to do drywall repairs. Mike and the production team kept in contact with me along the way. The roof was put on in early September and drywall repairs were also completed in September! I would highly recommend this company and Mike Mikesell for many reasons. Product knowledge, ease of communication, thoroughness, pricing, friendliness and expertise. I will consider this company should I ever require any other service they offer. read more

I would not recommend anyone use this company. After paying them $13k for a new roof, a year later when a branch fell and put a hole in the roof they could not be any less interested in doing the repair. It took them nearly two weeks to come out to check the damage, they estimated around $500 for the repair, then over a week later still had not gotten back to me to schedule. I called multiple times to follow up and they essentially told me that I was not a priority to them due to roof damage that had occurred in subsequent storms at other properties, but that they would come out and do the repair for double the initial quote. In a time where we are all struggling, it is sad to see a "family owned business" effectively price-gouging their paying customers. They are simply understaffed, overextended, and do not care about you as a customer in the long term. read more

best quote was given were quick to respond I chose a good roofing company to install my new roof

1 week after i received invoice a woman started calling me and texting me that i had to pay now. 2 weeks after i received invoice she threatened to put a lien on my property. i had just finished spending about $150,000 on a new roof and exterior with JB west prior to this job. i called the sales guy to complain about the bill collector and he forwarded message to her and did not return my call read more

I had 3 quotes come in for my roof, and JB West was the most affordable, as well as could accommodate the additional work I needed that was a bit out of the norm. An 8-man crew worked almost 12 hours to finish my job. There were on-the-fly surprises they were able to accommodate, including some large supply runs. Matt was the forman and was friendly, calm, and explained everything in detail. I thought the yard was a goner after all this but I was shocked to discover in the morning light no tacks, garbage, nails or trace of their work. Totally impressed with the workmanship as well as the cleanup. I recommend this company for your roofing needs throughout northwest Indiana. This crew was a well oiled machine, worked their ass off and cleaned up well. Thanks guys! read more

I am very pleased with the work JB West did on my roof. It is a metal roof, with one flat rubber section and 2 skylights that were replaced. The crews provided a quality service, performed in a timely manner, and cleaned up well. The cost is reasonable for the professional services provided. What was quoted, what I expected, and what was delivered, were on the spot. Many friendly folks that work for JB West. All around an excellent experience and I highly recommend them! read more

We needed to replace our roof due to our home owners requirement to continue insuring our home. Joe the Foreman was excellent. Needing to change all the doors and windows on our New Buffalo home , we sought bids from several contractors. Jb West offered terrific Pella tempered glass doors and windows , and we took the deal. They have now completed the project , and we are overwhelmed with the skill and professionalism and all , the project was done quickly and beautifully!!! We dealt with Mr.Hall and Greg Borden. The result is better than we even expected !!!! read more

Hidden costs and fees. Pushy salespeople. Not transparent about the process. Roof ended up costing 7X the initial estimate. Be careful.

If you would have asked me 4 yrs ago I would have given them 5 stars. I had amazing service with them when they did my roof. I had some storm damage 3 months ago (July 2024) to my roof, gutters, siding and railing. I immediately called them because of how pleased I was with their work. Well this time around I feel as though I have gotten the run around. I understand insurance work is different and takes time but 3 months is pushing it. I have had very poor communication from almost the beginning. I even switched reps hoping that would help. It started to, but once again communication was horrible. I paid half of the balance a week ago and requested information about the insurance notification and establishing a start date, especially since the weather has become cooler. I have sent multiple emails and have not heard back since I made a payment. Not to mention I had to threaten to take my business elsewhere to get response to set up for a payment. Now that they have half the payment once again I have had not heard from them about a start date. Update: It took from mid July to late December to get my work done. The roofers and the guy that did my railings were amazing. They got the work done and were very professional and did great work. Also, the lady that handled the scheduling was very polite and professional. However, the siding crew left nails on the driveway. They place items on top of my Christmas inflatables and broke at least one of the ground stakes for them. They moved items and did not put them back. The gutter people had to come out to do the second half of the job. They too moved items and did not put items back in their place. When they came out the second time they were supposed to clean the glue off of my house that they left the first time. Needles to say it is still there. Then the topping to this whole mess, is their lack of communication not only with me but my insurance company. Now, the claim has been closed and I owe thousands of dollars to this company. I wish I could say better things about this company, as they were amazing in 2021. I often do not expect compensation for things errors, but this has been completely unacceptable. After I made the fist half of this post I was immediately contacted by a manager that promised some compensation that I have not received. Now that the insurance company closed the claim, I am upset enough to drop the company from a 3 star to a 2 star. If this was my first experience with them I would give them 1. I could not be more disappointed. read more

Beatutiful roof but what happened during the installation is unfathomable. Chimeny stack came down and sheared off a filter to my tankless water heater. Oh my! Was greeted with AGUA! AGUA! Yes, my house was flooded and my remodel of 6 years was ruined! ServPro was called in and so many things were ruined - floor boards ripped up, my LVF ripped up, holes in the wall. My electric bill went up, I couldn't live in my home for 2 months, without compensation. After, a subcontractor came in, tore up my flooring and replaced it with one that I chose and hate (only was given 6 choices and this was the lesser of evils) No membrane installed under the flooring like before, painting had to be done, my grandson could have done better - at one point my hallway was 2 diferent colors! This started on November 11, 2024 I am done with it! My roof looks fine, but I have no warranty. Hope your experience is better than mine. I have been block for emails to them so I will pay the price. Incidently, I hope that you can communicate with one person, I had many, but rarely the same. Jeff Wesolowski is the owner and I could send him a message via Facebook. He and his wife Katie are planning on building a house around Walkerton I believe, I hope he wants to hire the inept people who "made my home back to where it was"! You can catch me on Facebook if you would like to see all the photos I took, and incidently my neighbor saw it all happen on the rooftop and I was told there was no proof that he saw it. read more

New roof last year, leaking today. Absolutely disappointed in this swrvice!!! Leaking so bad after 22,000 roof put on last year!!

our roof is 5 years old and we did have a leak right after they installed and JBWest sent a guy out to fix which we thought he did unbeknown to us it has had a small leak for 5 years finally our back finished porch roof had a small cave in. so I read my contract with JBWest and it said they have a warranty on their work so I called them. First person I talked to was Caprice who was great worked with me and sent a great guy named John to fixed leak on outside of house ,he did an excellent job working hard to make sure it was fixed and fixed right thank you John. Then Caprice called to make sure everything was good to go and called a couple of times to make sure no more leaks so they could fix the drywall and paint the inside.so then Brandy called to set a date to do the work and sent Marvin who was wonderful as well as the others he did and excellent job on dry walling the spot, sanding and painting finished in two days and I truely want to thank all that were involved in helping me get this resolved read more

I contracted J&B West to re-roof my house after the May 7, 2024 hail storm. Initially all went well: the crew arrived on schedule and the work was completed. The site cleanup was good, the supervisor was conscientious and we did a final walk through. The issue is the administrative side of the transaction. When I dropped off the final payment @JBW I told them I would like a final copy of the work completed and the specific materials used. Part of my reason was to have a complete documentation package for the subsequent owner when I sell. I was assured those would be sent electronically as well as mailed paper copies. There were multiple communications between myself and various JBW personnel. The requested documents were never provided. In short, my complaints are ... Requested documents not provided despite repeated reassurances that they would be provided (additionally making registration for shingle manufacturer warranty more difficult), conflicting statements on length of workmanship warranty and no detail on my (and neighbors) eligibility for the "$150 referral bonus". Perhaps there is some issue between JBW, their subcontractors, and the 3rd party estimator. Bottom line ... I hope the quality of the work was adequate to insure there are no workmanship warranty issues. Will I ever again use J & B West Roofing and Construction? No. Will I recommend them to anyone? No. read more

John and Emerson ran my crew. In and Out in a day. Great job. 09/03/2024 Was told I had appointment scheduled, waited all day no one called or showed up to inspect gutter warranty claim. I rearranged my schedule to accommodate this appointment, someone dropped the ball and it wasn't me. If you couldn't make it someone could have called. read more

I would not recommend J &B. It took 10 weeks from date we signed contract to finish (1day'). We have had 2 leaks now (5 months after installation). This last major leak damaged furniture and rug as we were gone for a few hours and unable to place buckets. The crew comes early and seemed to do a very rushed job. Finished in 1 day. This is my go to company for all my work. They did my roofing, just last Friday, did a excellent job, couldn't have had a better group of workers. Then the day b4, I had gutters and downspouts done, again excellent work, above and beyond what was expected. 3 weeks b4 that I had my siding done. These were the best workers, I've ever seen . They all worked so well together, fast , but very good . Again stayed til the job was done. Even the appraisal person llogan was very helpful, polite, knowledgeable of what hewas doing. The whole team, workers, supervisors, appraisers, and scheduling, and secretary's, all work very well in unison. I highly recommend this company to do your work. Can't get any better than them. Very pleased, Tim read more

Overall the JB West team did a great job. Sales was quick to respond and capable of accommodating our needs. The scheduling team did a great job keeping us informed of permits and work dates. My roofing job was estimated at $19,350 by Howard Fagre. I paid in full, and the job was scheduled. Immediately upon starting, work had to be paused for incoming rain and the guys covered my roof and the intake for my furnace with tarps, shutting off the heat for my tenants. I had to call Maglish and Chris suggested I pay for that service call, even though it was J&B West's fault. Second, one of the workers fell through my ceiling into the living room. Third, workers left materials unsecured in the yard and a wind storm blew pieces of their materials all through the neighbor's yards. Last, my job was grossly underestimated, as once they began work, Chris contacted me and told me they would need an additional $4,720 to complete my job. Since when is it good business to raise a price by nearly 25% AFTER a job is started? I feel it was either a grossly poor estimate by Howard, or a purposeful raise in price since I foolishly paid the job in full at the start. Either way, I had to pay. Avoid doing business with J&B West Roofing. read more

Jordan and his crew did an outstanding job of replacing both my house and steep garage roof. My roofing/gutters project has been a mess from the beginning. The quote was incorrect; read carefully before you sign. They tell you one thing is included but don't specify and then charge you. The project was begun in October/November for roof and gutters. The gutters were incorrect and needed to come back several times to fix correctly. The roof had bad flashing around a vent pipe; fixed incorrectly once and now waiting for another person to come fix and it is July. Constantly delayed and very frustrating, would not recommend to anyone. Very disappointed. read more
