UPDATE So now 2 weeks after Erik Pena came to fix 4-5 zones for me, 15 out of my 19 zones no longer work (and I honestly don't know for how long; only tested it 5 days ago and found out). So Pena came back today and said some line "is cut" and the office told me he'd get 30 minutes to find the cut and then would go from there. Of course 30 minutes later, they said couldn't find the cut. I checked on them an hour later and they were checking in the areas they'd worked in last time. They now told me they were checking to see if my old lines in that area worked (a complete 180 from them wandering around looking for a cut line). I came out later to check on them and Pena was on the phone chatting and both of them were not working. He made eye contact and clearly saw me walking towards him but he decided to ignore me and walked away towards his truck and kept on talking. After a couple minutes waiting, I decided to record. Then I asked his partner, Darwin, if he was calling the office, to which he said "I dunno." I called the office to double check and while I was waiting for office to check, Pena came to tell me he'd need to run whole new lines of wires for me because my "wires are too old, too many cuts"..... After a few minutes, he found out I'd called the office to check on him and got real mad, told me I should've been man enough to ask him "face to face"...Well, I said I would if he didn't just deliberately walk away from me. And I asked his partner Darwin face to face, man to man, whether Erik Burgos Pena was talking to the office. He was too butthurt and decided to walk off my property and said someone else would do the work. And he overcharged my hours deliberately for today, "2.75 hours"...for the work done between around 10:15a-11:50a. I know because I specifically looked at the time knowing this guy. In response, Pena said he got the time too and I could talk to the office if I want, then he drove off. I sure called the office and Yolanda sure confirmed my time and readjusted the hours. Pena had the audacity to FLIP ME OFF as he was driving away from my property. REMEMBER THE NAME. REMEMBER THE COMPANY. That's all I gotta say. Read the other negative reviews. There are plenty of other companies. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY ERIK BURGOS PENA. ----------- I have spent over 5K on these guys in 2023. They did complete system checks and still missed leaks I would later find. They changed a bunch of leaky sprinkler heads for me (I have 19 zones and a lot of problems/work for them) in April and May. One of the ones they just replaced started leaking profusely again so I asked them to come back to fix. They said they never replaced that and showed me the pictures of what the other technicians had taken. If I have the ability to spend over 5K on them, another $40 for a sprinkler head doesn't carry a lot of weight for me. I certainly don't need to be making anything up. It was infuriating to see a company not only refuse to take accountability for their work but wouldn't even take the courtesy of calling up the prior techs to verify. The prior techs were also the only ones that worked around the valve boxes and now a few weeks later, they came and found the wires "cut"....And I had to pay $1900 to fix that. If I could give zero stars, I would! Complete bait and switch! Kevin quoted $500 to install an irrigation system control panel that I could use via my mobile device. He also quoted me $100 to change one sprinkler head. I agreed to the pricing quoted. Once the control panel was installed, he informed me that I would have to purchase another part for an additional $100 before I could access my control panel through a mobile device. I was stunned! What happened to the original quote?! I called the "main office" and explained the situation and my discontent. They called him to hear his side. He proceeded to falsely claim that he never said that I could access the control panel with my mobile device after the install!! Wow. Then they called me back and told me what he said and offered to meet me half-way ($50) for the part to enable Wi-fi. I was not about to pay a penny more than than the quoted $500! I ended up paying for the "service" call and the sprinkler head replacement and had him uninstall the control panel. Shortly after Kevin left, I received a text with a survey link from them. I truthfully gave my feedback. To add insult to injury, I received a text from Kevin with a screenshot of my survey feedback followed by "youre delusional bud". Who does something like that?! Certainly not a service professional! By the way, I found the exact same control panel for $200 locally. I ended up watching a YouTube video and installed the control panel myself and it works perfectly! Never doing business with them again! Steer clear!!! read more

When the great freeze came through in February of 2021 my usual irrigation service had a backlog of repairs and could not get to some of my rental properties for over a month. JB was able to do the repairs in a matter of days. I spent around $3000 for minor repairs on two properties. It was expensive in relation to my regular contractors, but given the situation after the freeze, I considered it acceptable. Among the repairs were two new pressure vacuum breakers. About eight months later a neighbor contacted me that one of the vacuum breakers was leaking, and he turned off the water to it. When I got back in town and turned it on I couldn't see any leak. Three months later the same breaker began to severely leak again. I called JB to see if it was in warranty. They confirmed that it was 2.5 weeks out of warranty and would not honor it, nor would they offer a discounted rate. They said repairs or a new one would cost $350-$500. So I called my usual irrigation company which came out and discovered a defective "bonnet assembly," a $40 part. To be safe he also replaced all of the other interior components. $100 in parts and $50 labor. Technician also said that complete replacement with a new vacuum breaker is around $250, and that the owners of his company would have covered the cost of the repair had they installed it, two weeks out of warranty or not. Had JB offered me some sort of accommodation I would've been appeased. As it is the overcharging and their unconcern with honorable business practices has lost them a customer. My advice: keep on looking. read more

Asked for a status on Tuesday and was told the estimate department would work on it and was read back the wrong email address I gave. 5 days later, still have not heard from them. I have been a customer of JB Irrigation for many years. We purchase their yearly maintenance package. If we don't call them to schedule a visit, they contact us. As far as I can remember, they always arrive within their window. Over the years, we have had to have heads fixed and leaks repaired (our system is almost 25 years old). Each time, they've been able to fix the issue in conjunction with their maintenance visit. We've never had to call them back out to remediate a repair. They give an itemized bill for parts/service when they've needed to do repair work. read more

They are knowledgeable, quick and lucky (always an element in buried pipes) They are not particularly cheap. I have had them out twice and they did a great job. I am too old to do this stuff myself anymore, but I know a good job when I see one. They always arrive on time, can speak english, and have a good supply of parts on board. read more

AVOID JB Irrigation!!! I had a small leak at the cut off valve near my cut-off valve. I did not have the time to change it... So I contacted JB Irrigation. I have had them do some prior work on my 2 previous homes and this one. They were always professional and reasonable - UNTIL NOW! I was told that they did not have the cut-off valve with the drain on it. That I would have to replace the entire back flow preventer. Big mistake trusting them. I was working from home and could not "supervise" their work. It was late and starting to get a bit dark when they finished. SO I was not able to see the final results very well (I know... my fault). This morning I had the feeling something was just not right about what they had told me. So I re-inspected the work. I had to cut the foam and tape they used to cover their work and was shocked at what I discovered. They DID have just the cut off valves! Now normally I would not be as mad... but a valve is about $20 and a back flow preventer is $150+. So instead of about $120 (for the valve and service call), they charged me $300! I know that I am going to take some heat on this... and it is my own fault. I had used them prior and trusted them to do the right thing. I'll sum up my review to start things. If you are considering them - save the heart burn and find another service provider. We recently used JB for work on our sprinkler system when the company we typically use was not able to get to the work in a timely fashion. The problem was straightforward, the sprinkler system was not turning on. What a colossal mistake calling JB. They came out and worked the system to the tune of $2,350 on the first visit. They left with assurances that everything was in fine working order and sent an invoice and pictures detailing some of the work including pictures indicating they inspected and signed off on the controller box. The system never turned on even once after they left. When I contacted them later to come back out they sent a different representative who rather quickly diagnosed that the control box needed to be replaced. Now understand that the system did not come on once after their first visit. Another $715 which included this technician's time to come out and do the work. When I called to complain about the technicians missing the bad controller box the first time they came out - they gave me the run around and tried to tell me the box must have failed the moment their team left. I certainly don't believe in coincidences like that. The box was bad from the get go and they did not figure it out. This lead to a redundant trip and some redundant charges. As previously noted, if you are considering them - save the pain of getting taken advantage of and find another provider. read more

HUGE RIP-OFF!!!! If I could do zero stars, I would, they are not even worth one star! I usually repair my own residential sprinkler system, but I had knee surgery and was not able to do the repairs. The weather was hot, so I used JB since they had provided good service in the past. The 2 technicians arrived and quickly diagnosed the issue as 3 broken solenoids on the valves. They charged me about $200 for the service call and labor (which I am fine with) but charged me $750 for $33 worth of parts. I called the office and questioned my bill and was told the technician was on vacation for several week and could not get back to me. I was upset and was given the owners email address. I have sent him five email and have not received a response. I would strongly recommend finding another company that provides ethical and reasonable service. They came and charged me 125 to diagnose the issue(they tried to charge me 155 instead), after that, they said all the repairs would cost me over $800.00 ON TOP OF 125 diagnosis charge. I had to pay them diagnosis for not doing anything at all AS THEY wouldnt leave if not paid. Later another contractor charged me $200.00 to fix everything, no diagnostic charge at all. Don't trust them. Asked to inspect and repair irrigation system post freeze, they replaced a lot of equipment that was working perfectly fine (control panels, rain sensor, sprinkler heads) and charged me a lot of money for it. Now I have to go back an fix the damage that they did. When I called them on it, I got no response. I would give this company zero stars if I could. They sent out a sub-contractor to fix the sprinklers at my mom's house. The guy had a horrible attitude, tried to rip my mom off, actually he did. My mom found this company in the yellow pages. Called them up, they told her that they would charge about $80 for the first hour (service call) and about $90 for each additional hour. The guy came to our house, told my mom he knew exactly what the problem was and would fix it for a flat all inclusive $350. My mom agreed (he overcharged her), he was mistaken in his assessment, said it was getting dark and needed to leave. He then asked my mom for payment, and my mom told him to come back tomorrow and to fix it and then she would pay. All throughout this experience, he had a horrible attitude. So at this point, he was livid. He demanded to paid that day and told us that he would have a collection agency with the city come and have us pay. So, obviously his unprofessionalism has gotten him in this situation before. So eventually, he came back and "found" the problem, and fixed it. But before doing that he kept messing with the back sprinklers, even though the problem was with the front sprinklers. My mom kept asking him, why he was in the back when the problem was in the front. He kept telling her to "let him do his job". Well, after my mom paid him the full amount and he left, my mom turned on the sprinklers and a couple hours later our neighbor came over to tell us that our backyard was flooding. The next day, I called JB Irrigation and Services, asked to speak with the owner, Justin Bielamowicz, told him our situation. I asked him politely if he could send someone out to our house again to undo whatever damages/rewiring had been done to the back sprinklers, to restore them to their original condition. Mr. Bielamowicz had a horrible attitude. He was a real jerk. He told me that he would not send anyone back because the back sprinklers we're malfunctioning because they were old, that we still owed him money, then he said he was hanging up. I asked him about the money we supposedly owed him, when I had the invoice in my hand, he didn't respond to my inquiry, just went off with his temper. Ok, this review is way too long. I just wanted to write this, and explain the situation so people out there know not to use these guys. Sorry if I went too long with my ranting. But it really makes me mad, when you pay for a service, you are entitled to that service. And what is with their attitudes? They were jerks to my mom and me. I had excellent repair service from these guys. I had a low water pressure problem in one of my zones and they were able to come out the next day. They also figured out the problem very quickly and made sure that all of the sprinkler heads were working properly (and getting good coverage) before leaving. Two employees of JB Irrigation and Services came out to handle a leak and had to replace 3 valves on the sprinkler system. After the job was done my grandmother asked for one of the employees if he could remove a hose from an outside faucet and he agreed willingly. He comes back to the door saying he applied too much pressure and that he had broken the faucet and water was spewing out everywhere. I talked to the owner and they refused to help pay for the damages. Will not be doing business here ever again. read more

Well the company is extremely pricey. They charge $125 just to come out to tell you what is wrong. Even if you have them perform they work the recommend, that price only includes one hour of service. Any time spent over one hour is billed in 15 increments. I had them replace my outdoor controller with a brand new RainBird for a total cost of $442.17. That was in 7/19. In Sept 2019, I had to call them out because the controller they installed was giving a warning notice. Again, $125 just to come out to look at what they installed just two months earlier. This time they said an electric valve was not working on station 6. So again, I paid them to perform the repairs and again there were additional labor costs for time spent over the one hour. So for that visit, I paid $356.07. The system has not worked for several months but given the season I waited to get service. I did not use them because their prices are excessive. I used a very good service that provides FREE estimates. And guess what, the controller was bad and the electric valve on station 6 was bad. Not even one year later on either, even less time on the valve repair. So I call JB Irrigation and yes the controller is covered for ONE year only but I have to pay for all labor costs - $125 for showing up and anything that takes longer than ONE hour. The valve is just plain not covered any longer - the one they replaced in 919. They offered no solutions and really did not care if I was upset or not. I asked to then just get my replacement controller that was under warranty but they would not do that unless I BROUGHT THE OLD ONE TO THEM!! The service man from my new company was here while I talked with JB Irrigation and was totally shocked at the service and the warranty period. I showed him the receipts for the services they had performed and he even took pictures of them. He was in shock at their warranty and service policies. Needless to say, I now have to replace everything JB Irrigation did less than ONE year ago at a total price of $445 for both the controller and the valve and have a 2-3 year warranty and they come out to repair their work with no cost to me. My advise is to NEVER use this company unless you don't care how much money you spent with them due to the poor quality of their work and company policies. read more

I hired JB Irrigation & Services to find and repair a pipe/sprinkler leak in my front yard. I paid $158 in parts & labor for a new sprinkler valve...but the water leak wasn't fixed! JB returned two days later and replaced a PVC pipe joint, charging me an additional $322. So, after two visits and paying $480, my leak was finally repaired. JB Irrigation only accepts cash or checks and payment in full is required the same day work is performed. This company's labor rate is $105/hour for first hour and $95/hour for each subsequent hour. I researched other sprinkler contractors and found $60/hour is typical in the Houston area. When I expressed my concerns about overpaying to Justin (JB Irrigation's owner), his attitude was very defensive and he tried to justify the excessive fees charged. So disappointed. I had been using them and they did a great job (I thought) with repairs. A year later the system leaked again and I had them return. It's an old system. I paid them another $700. Two months later I had a leak and called them. They assured me if it was something they had missed there would be no service fee. Today they came, repaired it and tried to charge me another $300. When does it ever end? I am disappointed and feel they are just trying to suck me dry. I asked them to waive the service fee to no avail. Exceptional service and great communication. Very courteous, clean and knowledgeable. I had a problem with my zones not working. 2 other sprinkler companies came out and 'fixed' it. 2 days later the problem started again. JP Irrigation (Moses) came out and found a short in the wiring.... fixed it quickly.... cleaned up the other sprinkler company's messes and the price was less than I paid for each of the other 2 competitors.
