That's when I found 413 Fitness, and I can honestly say it's been one of the best decisions of my life. Blake and his team are absolutely phenomenal -- truly passionate, encouraging, and committed to helping you become the best version of yourself. From day one, they made me feel supported, heard, and motivated. I joined six weeks ago along with two of my close buddies who were also ready to commit to a healthier lifestyle, and together we jumped in. We set goals we honestly thought were unrealistic -- mine was to lose 20 pounds in six weeks. I wasn't sure it was even possible. But with the help of the entire 413 team, I hit that goal! The accountability, workouts, nutrition support, and overall positive environment made the impossible feel achievable. The wellness coaches are amazing too -- they care about more than just your weight or numbers. They focus on total wellness: physical, mental, and spiritual. You're not just a client here -- you're part of a family. If you're looking for a place that puts faith and fitness hand in hand, this is it. Thank you, 413 Fitness, for helping me change my life.

This facility is situated next to the Ohio River floodwall and within view of the Sherman Minton Bridge in the downtown area. There are large parking lots on either side of the building with free access. The facility has large locker rooms, a lap pool, heated pool, and children's splash pad and fun water slides. Upstairs area has fitness machines, free weights, classrooms, and a walking track. This is my least favorite track of the local YMCA facilities visited because it is a quarter track and makes my ankles hurt with any worthwhile distance (more turns per workout). Large windows and expanses of glass make for a mood lifter when working out, so this plus balances out any minuses. Reception staff are very helpful and friendly.

My husband and I had a pretty terrible experience with this gym, and unfortunately, the issues…read morestarted the moment we signed up. The teenager who signed us up was watching a movie on his phone and kept one AirPod in the entire time. We had to repeat ourselves multiple times because he clearly wasn't paying attention. What's even more frustrating is that we specifically told him we only wanted a month-to-month membership, yet he signed us up for a yearly contract and had us blindly sign on a singing pad. He never explained that the "monthly" membership was actually a year-long commitment. When we realized what had happened and tried to cancel, the manager and owner refused to let us out of the contract. So we have now been paying for MONTHS for a gym we haven't even been able to use because we were misled about the membership terms and then refused an opportunity to cancel. On top of that, the gym itself is dirty, and finding an employee there in the evening is practically impossible. They DO NOT answer their phone or email so don't even try calling. The combination of careless employees, poor communication, and an owner who apparently has no interest in resolving issues makes this a gym I absolutely would not recommend. Overall, this experience has felt incredibly shady and unethical. I had been wanting to work with a personal trainer and came across The Factory Gym a few weeks ago…read more After realizing that it is located in my end of town that made me take the plunge as they are not only close to my house but offer personal training as well. I called and talked to the general manager, Tarek who was so very helpful, answered all my questions and encourage me to come in a take a tour of the gym. I had no idea that the gym has been there since 1984 about as long that we have lived in the south-end, across from the post office on Allmond Ave. The space is open with free weights, machines, a training area with all kinds of equipment to perform every exercise you could ever do. The staff are very friendly, plenty of parking right out side the door, men and women's locker rooms, a breakroom, healthy food options and a small kitchen. There are many bodybuilders who work out in the gym but everyone has been friendly and helpful if I have questions. Tarek hooked me up with Kayla, one of the trainers. You have to be a member of the gym to train there but they take Silver Sneakers so that is cool. I paid the gym directly for my training sessions and they cut you a deal if you pay for 8 sessions up front (one free). Kayla has been fantastic. As a body builder herself I feel confident in her workouts. She pushes me and I'm sore after our workouts but she is intent on preventing injury while building strength, mobility and balance. We had a couple of conversations prior to our first visit and she has tailored my sessions to work on my issues. I have finished 7 of my 8 sessions, going to the gym twice a week meeting with Kayla and what she wants me to focus on outside of our sessions together. She went out of town and sent me two workouts to do while she was gone. We will meet this week for our last session. I have been impressed with the facility, the staff and especially my trainer Kayla.
