With a combo of elements such as cardio, yoga, conditioning, and weights, I always leave feeling sore but in a good way. I started this year in January 2023 and try to go at least once a week. With my busy schedule, there are plenty of times to choose from. And while every class is essentially "different" depending on the instructor, I feel and look great once I enter the class and leave. Try their free class when you sign up and then you'll see why you should keep up with it!!

Now, I'm not someone who sticks with a particular workout regimen, gyms are not my style. However, Barre3 is different. It is a combination of yoga, Pilates and barre founded by Sadie Lincoln. (Also a great listen on "How I Built This" on the origins of the company.) I've been coming here for 7 years. I've done community classes, I've bought class packages, I've done live steam and been in the studio. What I'm most thankful for is that this is a welcome, opening community. You are welcomed every time you come to the studio. Anyone is welcome to join. I've had friends join me who felt the body positivity during the class and felt welcomed. They frequently do community classes in locations like Paristown or at Work the Metal. I've enjoyed these classes too as an opportunity to share Barre3 with friends. In the spring/fall, they typically do class pack sales where I purchases classes so I can come and go as I can. I haven't done the monthly membership only because it is hard for me to go on workdays. The instructors (Abby, Mel, Kelly, Emily, Becca) have all been amazing. They have different styles and I workout something new every time. This community makes me happy and makes me feel like I belong. It has taken me so long to find a fitness community that does that for me. I'm so glad Barre3 has been here for 7 years, and cheers and gratitude to more.

When my friend shared The Barre Code was hosting a free week of classes for their 4th anniversary,…read moreI was interested to try out the studio. My only experience with a barre class was at the Northeast YMCA and based on the website clips, these classes looked much different. It was easy to create an account and I signed up for 3 classes throughout the week. For all classes you will need toe socks. The studio sells these but you can also find them at retail stores or Amazon. Toe socks come with toes, without toes or halftime toes. It's really personal preference. My check in on the first day was super friendly. The ladies at the counter greeted me, found my name on the list and had me sign a waiver. Heather is the owner of the studio and I seen her every day I visited for classes. She made each visit personal and checked in on me before and after class. I seen her do this for several people and my friend also expressed how much she enjoyed her (as a regular at the studio). Two of my classes were barre, taught be two different instructors so I got a unique experience. I love that! One class involved 2 or 3 lb weights and a small exercise ball while the other used a band to wrap around your calves or thighs. Other tools like stretch bands and weighted bars are there for other classes. My third class was called brawl and I had no idea when I walked in that's what I signed up for. It was a kickboxing class. It was intense and the class learned a routine that left us drenched. The studio is a rectangular room with padded floors, mirrors and a ballet bar. Music and temperature is controlled (and one class called burn turns up the temp to 85!). The instructors wear a headset and you can see them as the walk around or in the mirrors. The music is kept upbeat and loud, the lights are dimmed. It's a great atmosphere for you to concentrate on the class and your well being. Free lockers are offered and bathrooms in case you need to change clothes. Set up is limited so there's no need to get to a class super early, although it's nice to relax and get a few stretches in. Packages offer a variety of options. You can do an unlimited monthly or 4-pk monthly. You can also buy a group of classes that don't require a membership and can be used over 45 days. You do not have to commit long term because a 30-day cancellation is offered. Very nice. I highly recommend this studio. Try something new and be good to yourself!

I've gone to several Pure Barre locations over the years and it's the same recipe for success at each place: upbeat music, fast paced class, and a guarantee that I am cursing silently to the instructor at about 5 points in the class when they say "just 30 seconds more!" because my muscles are already scorching and shaking. It's a strange addiction, though, because you feel so accomplished after an hour workout that you can't wait to go to another class. I've really enjoyed the classes I've taken at the Westport location in particular. The instructors are nice, encouraging, and very discreet about helping you make adjustments during class to get the most out of your workout. As other posters have mentioned, it is a financial commitment if you want to buy an unlimited class package, but occasionally dropping in is very affordable. Some locations even offer $10 drop-ins throughout the week, making it the perfect way to stay toned at a great price.

Pure Barre Summit has really made such a positive difference for me since I joined in March, 2022…read more I had just come off knee surgery and wasn't sure I would find an exercise program that would help me get back into shape, but PB has showed me that I could be more like myself again. The low impact workout challenges me and helps me gain strength every time I take a class. The 4 multiple class formats help keep variety in the workouts so there is always a challenge, and the rewards are beyond the physical transformation I've noticed. I honestly leave class in a better headspace than when I came in, and can tell such a difference in taking that hour to focus on what I can do, with adjustments as needed. The instructors all help you adjust as needed so that you can get the most out of your workout, and encourage you to push as far as is safe. If you are down they follow up with you to be sure you are doing okay, which is not something I've experienced with other exercise opportunities. I've tried so many options over the years and this has really been the best experience overall!

The front desk staff is not good, and they're rude if you accidentally are running late. Although for some reason during Pride Week one of my classes started 3 minutes late, so I don't see the issue. You are locked into your membership for at least 3 months, and if you cancel early, there's a $200 penalty. If your card doesn't go through, there's a $15 penalty per attempt, and then they send collections after you. My new debit card took awhile to come in the mail and I had to pay penalties because of it. Paige is the only good teacher, so I guess that's why they did my trial class with her, because I haven't enjoyed the other teachers. Don't waste your money. You can do all of these workouts at home and see more results. Don't buy into their scam that you have to pay hundreds of dollars just to work out.

Her energy and kindness is what drives you to want to work harder. All the instructors are great and always have you feeling welcomed. They always change things up so you're not feeling stagnant. Like with any exercise program, the more consistent you are the better results. The instructors are great about taking your limitations and physical restrictions into consideration to protect you from strain or injury. A couple of things that have stood out the most over the years is that any body shaming is NOT tolerated. That is important and impressive as many individuals may feel it's hard to start for fear of judgment of others. That's not a worry or concern here at all. Just know that it's also not a social hour. Most talking is done before or after classes to allow everyone to focus on their routine. The other stand out is seeing the results. Personally, I'm not consistent enough to see significant results. However, having attended classes over the last couple of years, the results are apparent in those who have maintained regularly consistent visits. For myself, times I've had to take breaks and return, there's a noticeable difference in how my body reacts to the lack of consistency. There have been moments I've considered calling quits but knowing it works and makes a difference on my body, mind and soul is what keeps me coming back. Beyond Barre also offers Red Light therapy. My chiropractor recently started offering it for patients. You can do short visits, but the same your best results are in routine visits. I'm going Iryna will bring back Yoga nights. The best sleep I get are after those routines. Members can bring guests for free on Friday nights and class schedules may change a little with new programs that Iryna introduces. From time to time she offers great promos for anyone wanting to just try it out. You'd be welcomed with open arms and encouraged to try again. Absolutely, worth it!
