Fast forward to yesterday and the team is still great, but the quote I received for a 240v outlet in my garage beside the breaker box didn't align anywhere near the other quotes in the area. $1800? For an outlet? I've owned multiple homes and I never paid that much for a 240. Even Hunts didn't quote anywhere near that. Anyway, I'm a little bummed about it. Y'all do great work but I can't pay near double what others are charging for the same service.

We were given a detailed estimate with options from which we could select the work to be done . We did hire them to complete the following work : replace and upgrade our 40-year-old electrical panel, add several outlets to the outside of our home, correct the GCFI outlets inside our home. While doing the work in our attic, they found mold high up on our roofline and snapped a photo for us-saving us from that mess on many levels. A crew of four qualified hard-working electricians were at our home for two full days. Following the work, the cleanup was impeccable. They left it better than they found it.. A bonus was that they made all the arrangements with Puget power, including a follow up inspection. We are CONFIDENT our home is electrically safe and sound. They were very detailed in their estimate, which was fairly priced. Did I mention how polite and patient they were with our many questions? We would hire them 100 times over for any future electrical work, but I think we're good now! The owners have high expectations of their employees and the work they do, and their work is guaranteed.

I've got only one gripe and it's a real "first world problem" because I didn't get a thermostat that could be controlled with Apple HomeKit. I know I'm whining a bit. in truth, things didn't go perfectly. we had a fan and light switch check out of the chat while they were here and there was just no way they had anything to do with it. but, they took care of it all the same. getting the hardware installed went smooth. the wiring for whatever reason became an issue. turned out something needed a firmware update and the wiring corrected thereafter. so, I had one cold morning before it was all perfect. I believe you see the best from a company when things don't go perfect. there were some hiccups but, all was handled splendidly.

We had Hart Plumbing come out. (They are one of the few plumbers in Kitsap County willing to service Bainbridge Island, so we were excited about that.) Thomas Castrataro came out to assess the job. He could not tell us even a ball-park estimate of how much time the job would take. He also could not tell us how much money it would ultimately cost. Finally, with considerable prompting, he said it would cost us $1500. If the job was going to take a max of three hours (more than enough time), that meant Hart Plumbing's Thomas Castrataro was hoping to charge us $500 per hour. Thomas came back with a second offer of $1000, but the $500 difference between the two offers, coupled with the fact he was going to drive to Silverdale (rather than just go to ProBuild or Ace Hardware on Bainbridge), charging us for that time and 21 miles driving (each way) also shook our confidence in his professionalism and his acting in good faith. Despite the fact that I had articulated that it was the sink that needed fixing, and the fact that Hart had a very spacious van, Thomas didn't have the materials necessary to re-attach the sink. He said he might have to drive from Bainbridge Island to Silverdale, because he didn't have an account with ProBuild or Ace Hardware on Bainbridge. Does that sound professional? We appreciate that Hart comes out to Bainbridge Island. (Other plumbing companies do not.) But frankly, we felt completely used, and will never recommend Hart to anyone. We had to hand Thomas $75 (plus tax) for no service (Hart's policy), which was painful. We thought Hart would at least have sent a plumber reasonably priced and acting in good conscience. We know there are many affluent people who would be willing to pay $1000 or even $1500 for this 3-hour max job. But frankly, we felt taken advantage of, and will NEVER call Hart Plumbing again: This company is a big red flag.

In reality the entire job should have been less than the estimate but with all of their frivolous add on trip fees, driving time, erroneous extras, and quadruple normal price parts, they sent me a bill for almost $1,000...that's two install 2 outlets 2 feet away from my main panel...I could have done it myself for 50 bucks in parts and 2 or 3 hours as the job was simple enough for even an average skilled homeowner and I'm a former contractor. Its mainly my experience in contracting that makes me have a low tolerance for the typical contractor fluff and nonsensical bill padding. 25%-35% isn't that big of a dal on a small job...but if this had been a 10k job the questionable billing practices would have cost me thousands. I was going to hire them for multiple such projects but this first one has soured the experience with them.
