Very wide selection of new and used merchandise. Definitely worth a walk through if you are a gamer or collector.

Took Funkos in that I didn't care about but knew the pricing, as an experiment, just to see how bad they really are. I've had bad interactions in the past. They took over $300 in Funkos for $60 without a per item desription of what they were paying per item. When I asked to see which ones he took ( they were stacked away in the corner) he hesitantly moved a couple and showed me the lower end ones. (Not the chases worth 40+ each.) I still sold because I wasn't done experimenting. I then called the next morning to see what the prices were (as an alias) and the top 4 magically were not there. My hypothesis is that they backdoor the ones they would like personally all while completely fucking you over. I would never sell to jays. I would never buy from jays. My loss is hopefully a warning to all others. read more

Jay's new store location makes this all the easier. Conveniently located right off of I-235 and 22nd Street (next door to Chuck E. Cheese, in the old Hancock Fabrics building), this is a great location to drop in for the latest comic or a new putter disc. This is by far the larger of the stores I went to, with actual CDs taking up maybe a good 1/12 of the floor space, but lots of DVDs and video games and board games and action figures and comics and sports memorabilia and vinyl and toys and action figures and statues and if I was saying all of this aloud I'd probably be running out of breath at this point. This store is mind-blowing when you walk in and it's hard to imagine anyone going here and walking out empty-handed. If you spend enough time there, especially with all the rare stuff I saw, you will find something you can't live without to take home with you. I love stores like that and were we not on somewhat of a time crunch, could easily have spent half the day just wandering around, looking at what is nearly a museum with the pieces actually for sale. I don't know how you would do this kind of thing any better...other than actually having compact discs, but I guess most folks don't seem to care too much about those these days...except, apparently, me. read more

While the location at Merle Hay Mall is good, this one is even better! It's just bigger overall and they have more merchandise. We bought a bunch of Playstation games and some CD's. I'm looking forward to using the Playstation Buzz controllers we got. Thumbs up to the employee who helped us figure out if these are compatible with PS2 and PS3. No...the PS3 ones are wireless and not backwards compatible. This place was great! Highly recommend! read more

Love shopping here. I can almost count on the quality of merchandise I buy here. Things can be pricey, however, for the G.I. Joe action figures I buy, they are priced right for their superb condition. Therefore, when I purchased an item, I made the error on not inspecting what I was purchasing. The figure's internal o-ring was old and it appeared the previous owner attempted to pry the figure open and cracked it. I don't know if I'm more mad at myself for letting my past buying experiences here blind me or the fact that they would purchase subpar merchandise, like I, and sell it. Lesson learned. Located in the Valley West Mall, Jay's Cd & Hobby is full of toys, cards, comics, posters, records, and dvd's! If you are a collector of anything pop culture based from the last 40 years you will probably find something in here you will love! And at least be entertained looking around! Tons of cool old Starting Line Up's in the original cases and so many old rad Star Wars toys! I was so excited to find things I was playing with when I was 5 years old! I am a nerd and I love this place!!! Not only is this a great place for comic book fanatics, but anyone who enjoys entertainment. The store contains the usual comic books, action figures, posters, etc. They also have a wide range variety of movies and games at great prices. One of my favorite hobby stores. It's a store I can take my significant other in there & we normally always stay at least an hour or more. They have movies & video games galore, actions figures, game consoles, old records, comics. My favorite reason I visit frequently is because of the Magic card selection. They have all the newest booster boxes & pre made decks. They restock their singles often & I can normally always find exactly what I need. Price is comparable to most places. Little higher for some things & a little lower for others. All the employees are very nice, & will help you out whenever you need it. If you haven't been there, give it a shot. Jay CD & Hobby is one of my absolute favorite stores. As a comic book fan, the major perk is their vast supply of old and new comics that are easily available. They are organized in an efficient manner and allow customers to brwse through various titles. It convenient to be able to purchase the most recent edition in a series then go back in the archives and purchase a comic from the 90's (or earlier). There really isn't any other store in the area that provides such a wide selection. In addition to all the comics available, there is an even wider selection of other merchandise available, such as video games, movies, CDs, and action figures. They really do cover an diverse assortment of 'hobbies'. Besides the retail items offered, Jay Cd & Hobby has very helpful and friendly staff. They are very well adapt to answering customers' questions as well as continue on with friendly conversation. This really helps give the store a laid back atmosphere. read more

Worst service anywhere around. Large selection and options, but being a customer there for many yrs and spending countless thousands of dollars and giving them many chances to be a place that was worth my money, they failed miserably and I will never spend a dime there again. They do not take care of their items and if you buy something and you see its broken the second u open it or try to use it, no matter what damage, they do everything they can not to give you a new item of the same or different or your money back and treat you like you are not allowed to have something that you spend your hard-earned big dollars for. I will travel way out of my way to Mayhem just because their staff knows how to treat a customer. read more
