Jay is awesome. I took my Prius in for some A/C issues, and he took the time to properly diagnose the problem instead of jumping into unnecessary repairs. I really appreciated that approach. He kept me updated throughout the process, was honest, and charged a very fair price. He even mentioned the system wasn't 100% from his perspective and gave me a discount, which says a lot about his integrity. That said, the A/C was working great on my drive home. Great service, fair pricing, and someone you can trust. Highly recommended. Glad I found my new mechanic. read more

Great service!!! Price is fair and honest. Always nice to go there and feel good about what I paid for.

Jay is the absolute GOAT. His father (may he rest in peace) was a true master with his hands and taught Jay everything he knows. Me and my family have been coming to this mechanic since I was a literal CHILD and no one and I mean NO ONE does it better. Even when we live 30+ miles away, I will drive to Fullerton to get my car checked! read more

Great honest service. Brought my vehicle in for an oil change. Jay rotated my tires and checked to make sure everything else was as it should be. Highly recommend for all vehicle maintenance/repairs read more

I went in for an oil change. Service was fast and friendly. The price was very reasonable. Would some here again.

Knowledgeable mechanic! Former army mechanic that's very experienced. He has a Korean old school personality but is very good and knowledgeable regarding automotive care. I recommend this place. Name your problem and he names his price. Which is very reasonable compared to other mechanics read more

This place is the only auto shop I take my car to. What I value most about this shop is how honest they are. They go above and beyond and don't add on crazy hidden fees or bogus service charges. The most recent time I went I had a mangled undercarriage plate and the owner's son (Jay) hammered it out for free while I was waiting for a replacement to ship in. Don't hesitate to come here! read more

RUN DON'T WALK FROM HERE! The very moment you walk through the front door you are accosted by an appalling cigarette stench that steals away your sense of smell. The view is not much better as you can clearly see dusty, oily, outdated, clutter everywhere as it fills up an already small dungy would be sitting area filled with filthy boxes and a suspect coach. As you stand waiting to be greeted for a few minutes the owner who has been sitting in his corner office with a cigarette in hand paying no attention to his potential customer finally shuffles over with an unwelcoming scowl. Be warned, the old man (owner) is VERY RUDE and unabashedly UNPROFESSIONAL. There is an old saying about mechanics, you can tell how well they take pride in their work by how well they take pride in their tools. Not good! read more

I came in for a quick oil change. I don't know if the man is the owner or a worker here, but he was smoking in the corner office right next to the waiting area where I was sitting. He's extremely rude. I will never come back here. read more

Immediate work on the oil change. While waiting for the oil to drain, the guy working on my car started doing some other stuff like checking the air pressure in the tires of my car. It's the small details like this that will bring customers back. Thank you very much. read more

Quick service! I understand that customer service can be low to some because of the language barrier but as an occasional customer they are really careful and honest in what they do. Came in for a tire repair and an oil change. I came in the morning for both services on different days. They open at 7 AM so it was perfect for me who needed to get in and out before work. They were quick and attentive with their service. Just drive in and let them know what's up with your car and they'll get to it. Oil change was $25 and I went on a weekend and I only had to wait for 10 to 15 minutes for the entire thing. read more

This is the first place I would go for a check-up and repair my car. They have never disappointed me since my first visit 12 years ago. Thanks, Mr. Jay and his staff, for the great service and reasonable price. :) read more

Garbage place. First I was given a price and then the price tripled. Not legal but I just wanted my car to be fixed. I just called to get the status of my car and I'm told by the guy who answers the phone that he doesn't speak English. Come on now. read more

Jay's Auto is a very good mechanic and friend of mine. A family owned father and son auto shops like this is precious on these days. They are professional, very honest, and hardworking guys. You will get the best price guaranteed! read more

I always get really scared going to an auto center by myself because people tend to rip me off. The people at Jay's Auto are so honest and kind that I feel really comfortable and confident that they will do a great job on my car. Their price is very reasonable and sometimes they do things for free since I'm a regular customer. I sometimes feel bad going in for really minor problems and them having to fix them for free. I have recommended this place to my friends and they are now regulars to this place as well! read more

My friend recommended me here so I decided to bring my car. They are really professional guys with nice attitude. The owner Jay was great and explained me how they gonna do. Also, his mechanic is well experienced. Price is bomb. They did brake jobs and oil changed. My car is pretty luxury level car so needs synthetic oil. However, they only charged me 200! (Included labor charge) I am fully satisfied with them. They made me smile! I strongly recommend this place for you guys! Thanks for great job!!! read more

I was referred to Jay's by an acquaintance I should've atleast noticed that this place has only 3 questionable reviews which happen to be 5 stars ..... I just called at 3:00 today to see what time was best to drop off my extra car that I hardly drive to get tuned up. I'm very polite on the phone, I started by saying "Hi, my name is ........., I'd like to" and BAM, I WAS BLATANTLY HUNG UP ON. I'm currently writing this review from an auto repair service down the street. They were kind enough to let me finish speaking and letting them know what I needed. Good luck staying in business Jay's. read more

Our Honda Odyssey's battery died at LAX and the guy from the towing company said that we needed a new alternator. I was skeptical, so we just got a jump start and waited until we could get the car to a shop. Jay's was the closest to our house, and when one of their mechanics checked out our car, he said an alternator for our car was expensive and said that he would replace the battery first to see if we really needed to replace the alternator. It turned out he was right and that the battery was just bad. He saved us at least a few hundred by proving the towing guy's recommendation wrong! Thank you!! read more

This place is great! We come here whenever we need something fixed on our car. They're really affordable and so nice. I think it's Korean owned. My boyfriend is always getting nails in his tires because he works in construction ad they fix it for 5 bucks. Pep boys does it for 20!!! I recommend this place to all of my friends all the time. I just randomly found this place on Yelp because I desperately needed an oil change. I hate seeing that little light that indicates that you are due for one. I got an oil change within 20 minutes, no wait. From reading the previous reviews, luckily, I didn't have a problem with any language barrier because the owner's son was available and he speaks fluent English. I only paid $40 for a synthetic oil change. I'm used to usually paying around $45-55 around this neighborhood. I finally found my go-to place for oil changes! read more

My family has been coming to Jay's for over 10 years now. I trust their service and they don't rip you off with the labor charge.

I will never be coming here again. I came to simply get an oil change during my lunch hour for my 2010 BMW 325i. While they were doing the oil change there was some type of miscommunication and someone forgot to put the filter in and they started the engine. I never knew oil could spew out of my car like that but it did. Then they had to wash it off with some chemical spray then power wash it. Because of what they did, the son of the shop ended up giving me the oil change for free. I left not as mad but then after work I got back into my car and the check engine light came on. So now I had to then go back to the shop for the 2nd time and ask them to reset my car. Now today I had to go back to the shop for the 3rd time because my car kept giving me a message saying my oil level was low. My car wasn't leaking oil so I figured the only thing it could be is that I need to top off my oil. When I got there the owners son was there and he remembered my car. I told him I kept getting an alert saying my oil was low. When we checked it he told me that he had to top it off because they ended up using SYNTHETIC BLEND NOT FULL SYNTHETIC!!!! Obviously I needed full synthetic it's a BMW it burns oil hotter! Don't even know if they deserve even 1 star but I will never be coming back here again. Don't go to this shop unless you want to make multiple trips back and forth to get something as simple as an oil change done. read more

They are OK to me. Nothing special. It is very near from my home. Straight forward, very quick service. Very reasonable price. The most important is they are honest I think. I've been going to Jay Auto for 20 years. I've gone through 6 cars and Jay took care of all of them from my humble college car Nissan 240SX to my weekend toy, Acura NSX! From doing simple things like oil changes, brake jobs, factory scheduled maintenance, to big fixes like replacing water pumps and timing belts--Jay can fix them all. His prices are fair and does the job in a timely fashion. He is open M-Sat from 7am-7pm which is great and all I do is call him ahead of time to see if he has time to see my car that day. His busiest are Monday, Friday and Saturdays so I tend to stay away on those days. Best part is there are car rental places nearby so when I drop off at Jay's, I have one of them come pick me up and I can rent a car for the day. One time Jay couldn't readily find what was wrong with my car so he came in on a Sunday (his day off) to fix it. He eventually got it running again but that kind of loyalty and dedication sticks with you. Like I said, Jay is honest and fair. Two things that are worth their weight in gold when it comes to mechanics. Trust me, I've gone to sleezy ones before and if you find someone like Jay, you tend to stick to him. I did, for 20 years. read more
