What was important for me too was that everyone had very good hygiene standards when doing our makeup, so nobody was worried about cold sores or breaking out from contaminated product. We get makeovers 1-3 times a year from Nordstrom, Sephora and MAC....... But we've never been taught how to implement the techniques the artist as using. They might tell us what to do but it's in one ear, out the other. Ana's approach is a multi learning process. She tells you what to do and why, teaches you how to do it on someone, then she involves you in the process by having you try this technique for yourself. She's there to give guidance and feedback along the way. Classes are small and cozy (4 people). Ana has a warm, sweet personality and it was lovely to spend time with her. At the end of class you can purchase some items, but I felt zero pressure to do so (as there was no hard sales press AT ALL). Loved this so much, we will be back.

I had a very horrible experience here. I went to get my hair done a bright icy blond colour. I…read moreshowed pictures etc of what I would like and asked for their stylist that specializes in blond. The first time I walked out of the salon my roots were an orangey brown colour nothing close to the rest of my hair. I went back to get my hair corrected a second time and left with grey/blue hair. I then went back a third time in which my hair looked just slightly better in which to have my hair start to break off all on one side of my head just weeks later. Upon seeing a friend of mine who is a colour specialist she informed me that my blond had been overlapped and my hair way over processed. I sent pictures to Rynell one of the owners who then tried to claim the work in the pics wasn't her work even though I had the dates in my pictures corresponding with the dates I saw her at the salon. She stopped responding to my messages with no offer of compensation or to help mend the problem. I had to cut 5 inches off of my hair and it is still breaking from the roots. It is going to take me most likely a year or two to get my hair back to it's original health. I also met another person who had the same experience with the same stylist and had to cut her hair off too. Overall the worst experience I've had with a salon and I spent almost $500 to get my hair done here in total.

She was able to give me the vibrant red I've been wanting for two years, that no stylist (I had been to three before her) had ever been able to achieve. I had several inches of roots with grey and strawberry blonde mixed, and then the previous colour from my last visit to a salon (a sort of strawberry blonde) on the rest of my hair, and she managed to get a completely even, beautifully saturated colour in exactly the shade I wanted. This is almost unheard of with reds, and especially with my stubborn hair- which, by the way, takes a master to perfect. It's wild, chaotic and uncooperative but she completely transformed it to literally the most perfect red I've ever seen. I'm telling you, my colour is IDENTICAL to the photo I brought in for inspiration. Paige is an expert at straightening as well- no easy feat with hair like mine, AND she gave me the most flawless bangs - and with hair like mine, bangs are TOUGH- yet for this magician, they were effortless. Though I was so nervous going in, from the colour to the cut, I experienced the best results I have EVER had at a salon and my hair looks better than it ever has. Seriously. I always leave a salon with something I'm not totally satisfied with, but not this time!! In addition to the stunning transformation, Paige has the most bubbly, cheerful demeanour- she is so lovely and pleasant, easy to talk to yet clearly takes her work very seriously and knows exactly what she's doing. Everyone at Hair on 14th is supportive, sweet and professional- I got water and coffee on demand and even got the most amazing head massage!
