I don't like giving such low ratings but was highly disappointed with the quality of food. I had called before to check the availability of samosas and they only had 3 left so anyway I decided to give it a try. To be honest, the samosas were super hard. The outer covering had so many layers and was very rubbery. Chutney on the other hand also didn't taste well. Usually their 5pc samosa price is 7.50. I paid for something I didn't even enjoy They are only open 2 days - Thurs and Friday 3-7pm so I agree that it'll be crowded but at least have some rules that can be followed . The board outside says only 3-4 people inside but there were more than that waiting inside. I agree with how things are being managed by the restaurants, but one cannot compromise with customer experience. read more

This is a specialty food place. If you are familiar with the snacks of the southern Indian states of Telangana/Andhra Pradesh then your will appreciate the work and quality here. Many traditional snacks that I am familiar with from my childhood in India are available here I was here to get something called Kaja, it's like a flaky donut so your kids may love it. Then there are spicy snacks like Muruku and carapusalu that are made with chick pea flour and rice flour. Very friendly employees, you can call ahead. Most people do carry-out here. Busy on the weekends and usually when there are holidays. I'm happy I found this place. The danger is that I'll be too nostalgic that I'll order a lot more and very frequently. read more

The food quality is fantastic. However the service is horrible. You get preferential service if you speak telugu. Even then, you will only get good service if your order is large, or else the servers are slow, not so friendly and just not welcoming. I have given this a shot 5 times now, and everytime have had the same experience. They could do so much better , because clearly their chef is amazing. read more

Jayasri Sweets is absolute trash . This establishment (not worthy of being called anything else) is an atrocious mess. If I could give -100 stars I would. I ordered from them via uber eats. Cameron was the 1st and only driver assigned to pick up my order. He arrived at restaurant and was told my order was already picked up. Cameron asked me to verify that he was the driver assigned to my order which I did (I even provided this through picture evidence for him to show the restaurant). There was a woman who claimed she had footage of another driver picking up the order. This is irrelevant. How is this my problem? She did not screen the other driver. She claimed it was no longer her responsibility. It is your responsibility as the restaurant (owner, manager, or staff) to check that correct orders are given to the correct driver for the correct customer. This is common sense. The woman would not allow us to speak to the manager or the owner. Additionally, she refused to provide the name of the owner, manager, and her name. This wreaks of dishonesty. If you were honest and had nothing to hide, you would give this information freely as a restaurant is a public place. I have pictures to document that Cameron was the initial and only driver assigned to the order. I have informed the delivery partner (ubereats) to remove this store from their platform as has the driver who was assigned to my order. They were refusing to refund money or refill my order until I threatened with police and attorney for theft and refusing to give purchased products. Further, I am so disappointed in their representation of the Indian community and culture. As a member of the Indian community, we are supposed to be accepting and welcoming. Definitely not a representation of Indian culture and community. Honestly, if they cannot act like proper honest, decent, welcoming, and accepting human beings, they should go back to the slums and villages where they came from in India. As much as I hate trump, I hope he deports the people of this establishment back to their slums and village or even somewhere isolated in outerspace. read more

Excellent pedas. Just make sure the number you order and the number received actually tally. We had to make our way back to get this corrected A bit disappointing. read more

I only am familiar with really basic Indian sweets such as gulab jamun or kulfi, so when I saw this traditional Indian sweets shop, I had to stop by. The workers were really friendly and tried to answer all of my many, many questions. They have a display case with actual samples of the items so you can see exactly what it is you're getting. They'll probably offer to let you taste a few of the items as well. They didn't know the English names for some of the things I was asking about, but a friendly customer stepped in and helped out with that. We ended up with three little treats. Most of them are very sweet and rich, so even though it didn't look like much, I couldn't eat a lot of these kinds of sweets at a time. The coconut one that is pictured in the center was my favorite due to the flavor. What was unclear to me at the time though, was the price. It had to do with the weight or something and not the individual item. Since I misunderstood, I thought everything was very expensive and I didn't purchase much when in fact the prices were very reasonable. Oh well, next time I will know, so I can try more things. read more

My god-children are first generation Indian-American and their patents have spoiled me with exposure to both North Indian and South Indian fare. So, when they recommended Jayasri, I trusted them. I'm really glad that I did. I love the savory snacks!! Especially the spicy boondi and chuduva. Both have a little spice but nothing I can't handle. They are light and flavorful snacks. On the sweet side of the house, my favorite is the mysurpak. I've picked up at the store and ordered shipments online. Both are seamless and professional options. Definitely give them a try. This place is a hidden gem!! read more

I like the taste of the food here, it's authentic Indian taste and is fresh, I would prefer this via delivery using the apps rather than pickup. The ambiance isn't nice. read more

Great pala kova. It's been warm and fresh every time I've gone. Great service too. Must try

I love this small place. They sell the most scrumptious Khajas in the entire US. This place has very hard working ladies who have magic in their hands. They offer various kinds of snacks and sweets including Hot and Flavorful Samosas with Chutneys. The Samosas are always fresh and Khajas are to die for. I try to avoid going there because I don't want to gain weight. But, I always crave for their Khajas. My friends living in New Jersey Jersey ask us to bring khajas in bulk for them. If you are in DC or northern Virginia please come and try their star dish----KHAJA. read more

I am not very satisfied with all the hype I have heard about it and what I have experienced. We ordered 35 counts of their small gift boxes as a return gift for an event. It has 2 pieces of Kaja, 2 pieces of Kova, and we replaced the laddu with Mysorepak as we made laddus at home as part of the menu. The kajas were dark in color and turned out very soggy. kova was okay. The mysorepak looked more like a besan burfi and gave a burnt smell when bitten (if you know how burnt milk smells). we liked their box but not the contents. I think the only special item to rely on them is the kova kajjikaya (with coconut inside) which is what I originally tasted and chose them. I don't recommend this for other sweets. read more

Unhygienic Sweets. I found a long hair in kovakai laddoo (white shell with coconut filling). See picture. These Indian chefs haven't even learnt to tie up and cover their head while cooking. It was disgusting to bite into, good knows, whose hair. On top of that, they've raised their prices. Stay away!! read more

Messed up a bulk order at the last minute and caused a stressful and unpleasant situation. Jayasri sweets - serves bitter :(

I only tried the kaja, but my co worker brought some in for a pot luck, and I've been ordering them through him since then!!!! I think the most damage I've done is 3 in one sitting...... now I buy them for gifts or parties. Just delicious, every time. read more

Jayasri Sweets - I could eat the whole pack in one sitting.... - Specialty Food Near Me - Herndon, Virginia

My coworkers (who happens to be Indian) and I were looking for something sweet to get us over the midday hump. We were excited to try Jayasri. The attendant was kind and showed us her options. They were out of the one treat that's actually interested me-- jamun. I tried the other desserts. I love different flavors and unique tastes but these were just ok... I asked my coworker if I was misjudging, and she said no. She really wasn't pressed to order either. But the lady had gone through all the trouble of brining samples. I felt we had to get something. There really wasn't a huge amount to choose from. My coworker said this wasn't what she expected. She thought there would be a case with a variety of confections. But we ended up getting the kaja--- it's like fried phyllo dough drenched in single syrup. It was sweet enough to satisfy the craving but not to die for. read more

The samosas are real good, I would recommend, Chakkalu (spicy ones) Ariselu, Kaja and Gulab Jamun. I tried checking on Jilebi, they don't make it all the times, need to try it. read more

Spent lot of money on kaja, Laddu, Mysore pak and pala kova. Laddu and Mysore pak were very dry. No sign of ghee been used in preparation of any items I bought. Kaja and pala kiva are very ordinary but the price I paid for is not. Mysore pak was very hard to bite my mom could not even eat them. Very disappointed. read more

I am a fan! Their Kaja is phenomenal. And the corn murukku is really good too. I stock up on that whenever I can.

Horrible place. Very unfriendly customer service. It looks like a deserted garage. Staff is rude. They don't greet you with a smile or offer samples for tasting. We bought mysore pak which looked like dried soap and tasted horrible. Their chakkili (murukulu) samples are bad as well and prepackaged stuff in Indian grocery stores is probably better Avoidable place. Very deserted, old looking and uncleanly. read more

Didn't like how they put too much garlic in boondi and mixture. Sweets are average as well

Love their mysurpak and laddoos. Their corn ribbon murukku is also delicious. Wasn't a fan of their other sweets that we sampled. A great place for fresh sweets for those Indian sweet cravings. read more

This review is solely for their kaja's that I got from them. I came to know about their kaja through one of my friend who is big fan of their kajas. Really Great taste of kaja. I thought service even better and fast cuz it took me almost 20 min. read more

Awesome kaja- and this is a high praise from me. I grew up enjoying the best from tapeswaram, near Rajahmundry.

I think she has the best south Indian sweets in the area. The gulab Jamuns (typically a North Indian sweet) is not good at all... appears to be made out of of the GITs type mixture...and has a hard center...knocks one start out.. But I think that the southIndian Sweets are good, She does seem to have less work force to push her business more...Seems expensive to me, knocks the other star out. read more

The first time, we ordered a box of 25 Kajas and they were really good. Later, we went back several times and bought in smaller quantities. The quality definitely varied, but they were never that bad, may be overcooked just a little bit on a few occasions. I'd also recommend their samosas and mysore-pak, but if possible, always order in advance for better quality. read more

100%Terrible! All of their items are so sweet that they are inedible! I went in just wanting to purchase 2 to 3 items just to try them. The couple who were being served told me they were given samples to try. Unfortunately, the woman behind the counter who actually works there was not as helpful to me as she was to the other customer. She did not offer me any samples and simple told me I could purchase a box with 14 items for $14. I did want to try them, so I bought the box. No one in my family could eat more than one bite!!! They all taste like pure. super sweet sugar with no other flavor. Then, to make it even worse, we had upset stomachs and were rushing to the bathroom! I will not go back. I recommend you do not buy anything here! read more

Delicious is one word for this place and I am a huge fan! I got introduced to their delicacies through a friend and I have been savoring their rich collection of sweets ever since. My personal favorites are kaja, laddu and the kova. Their kaja and kova is a must try!! The quality and taste of their sweets is amazing. If you are looking for fresh south Indian sweets this is as good as it gets. read more

The kaajas are awesome.Really love the snacks like the corn murukkus, boondi and the sev

Excellent Khaja . Have been getting for parties on & off for the past 5 years , same great taste every time

Only kaza is ok,but rest of the stuff are substandard. The chakkalu they sell is a loot as they don't offer small pack, just force you to go for the 15 pack which is super expensive for a savory item. Over all prices are high for the kind of the material used to prepare them which are dirt cheap... read more
