AAA looked at situation and told me they wouldn't even try to help, as it was unlikely they could move the car without severely damaging it. A friend suggested I call Red's. I cannot recommend Red's Towing highly enough. They came promptly. They acted professionally and skillfully. They were kind and helpful. Not a single one told me by word or gesture that I was an idiot. They made sure my car was driveable and then went merrily on their way. (My car was not only driveable, it was totally undamaged!) I hope to never need them professionally again, but if I do, they will be my first choice. Special shoutout to Ben (on the phone) and Chris F, David M, Garrett W & Yomir L. You guys were amazing!!!

One is supposed to call ahead so that an employee can be dispatched from the West Springfield…read moreoffice to this unmanned lot on Main Street in Holyoke with an estimated arrival time of thirty minutes. My partner and I (her ride here) waited in my car and two cold and disgruntled men waited shivering outside, in twenty degree weather, while we occasionally tried to get assurance from the office that someone was indeed coming, but it was more than an hour after our initial call before someone arrived. The rigmarole of faxing paperwork back and forth to the main office commenced at this point, and at this writing, 1:20 in, we're still waiting to retrieve the car and be on our way. The office dispatcher or whoever answered the phone, however understandably weary of receiving angry callers, was neither polite nor helpful, and certainly unapologetic for having promised a wildly inaccurate wait time. She put me on hold mid-sentence without warning at one point, and before hanging up on me, snarled, 'it's not even your car!' If Red's is going to brag on their hold message of sixty years of family service, they ought to be able to deliver some in the present. Their ability to handle moose removal means nothing to struggling middle class working folk who merely want to pay their bloated fee to recover their car and return to work.

The service was done, and I paid for that a couple of hundreds dollars. Days later, surprisingly, my bank card got another charge for the same amount of the a couple of hundreds dollars. It seems the office lady over there knew what's going on ( Was that double charge made purposely?? And, if I didn't check my bank statement, my money would be gone like that??) and sounds rude to me about my bank card got a second charge. She agreed to put the money back to my card finally but there's no apologize about the wrong charge. I believe the 2-star rating is a higher rating compared to what they did like that. The thing is: it doesn't seem like they would like to correct what they've done wrong. God Bless those businesses that they can realize they're not supposed to do that and stop doing it!

One of the bearings on the rear axle was gone. I went to buy a new bearing as I had no money to just bring it to a place to fix it. I attempted to fix it myself but had no bearing-puller and I was unable to remove the bearing my self. With a bicycle I pedaled to One Stop Towing, the nearest place where they serviced and worked on cars. I guess Dave Bell, the owner, felt sorry for me and pulled the bearing. When I asked for the price for his help, he answered, "good luck, you do not owe me anything." Over the years, even so I did service my cars myself if possible, on occasion I needed One Stop's service. I can not remember ever having any issues or was in any way disappointed. I consider Dave Bell a man with integrity and a big hart; the only flaw he may has is the inability to say no to anybody in need. Years ago, during a snow storm, I found myself in a ditch with my car; Dave was there to help me, not to make any money, he was there to help! I called him today as I need a rental truck to move stuff next week. He was very patient and explained me how the truck rental business has change over the years and how I most likely will find the rental truck I need. I'm in the retail business and found out that there is about 1% of the population you will never be able to satisfy, no matter what you do. If you do some research to find out who these people are, you will find out that they never did anything meaningful their entire life and do not amount to much.
