My AC went out around 5-30-18. After replacing the Run/Start Capacitor due to physical damage, (I…read morehave an Alabama HVAC license - inactive and I am a 40 yr veteran electrician), I had to call a service company on 6-4-18 as I did not have my tools here for working on the refrigerant loop. When the service company came out, they said it needed a TXV and a fan motor. I ask why a fan motor and they said "because you had to replace the capacitor" (this is an extremely low speed fan, the motor did not need to be replaced). They did say it was warranty work as they had installed it originally. When I received their quote it included parts on it. I reminded them it was warranty work and they said their quote didn't include parts and the price did not change. After nearly 4 weeks of phone calls and no progress, I gave up on them and ordered the parts myself. The parts arrived in 4 days. On 6-28, they contacted me to schedule access to my property for the repair. On 6-29 I called them to tell them that I was going to do the repair myself as I had found the damaged TXV line and did not want them on my property. They informed me at that time, it had been repaired. I had to go turn the unit on during the call to know it was working. While I was looking into repairing the AC myself, I found that the TXV equalizer line looked like it had been filed through at a location where it did not contact any other part of the unit. (I have pictures). It also looked like it had occurred on at least 2 separate occasions. One set of marks had a patina of 2 to 3 years old and the second damage was 1 year or less old ( AG Sheet metal had the service contract with the original owner). Reference the Patina Chart at https://www.crescentcitycopper.com/why-does-copper-turn-green.htm, 1. This service company is asking for nearly $2,000.00 for less than 4 hours onsite for the repair work. I believe this is outrageous and is price gouging. 2. Without the damage to the Equalizer line there would be no need for repair work. , Go somewhere else. Do not use these people.

BEWARE I had them come out last November to work on heater…read morewasn't working, I had also asked them to go ahead and clean the coils on a/c side. Said he couldn't pull them then he had another call and it was too humid. Came bac a couple of days later (after I called again) and took coils out and took them to their shop to clean because it was still too humid outside. Brought them back a couple of days later and installed them but couldn't check freeon levels because it was too cool outside to do it would come back in spring when temperatures were staying above 70. A week later heater went out again another tech came out charged me for another part (which was probably the same one) Early spring this year early hot days a/would not work, called different company to check unit, wires were backwards when tech had removed coils he hadn't put anything in to prevent any debris from getting in so coils were stopped up and hadn't put hardly any freeon back in Got a/c working enough to have some cool babying it so it wouldn't freeze up, 2days later heater went out again. Called a different company and was told the same thing about the a/c side and the same part they had replaced in Novemberish was out again. Tech from air tech had also broken outside door latch. So I get to replace my whole unit thanks to these bone heads I tried to call owner, someone else called saying they had dropped the ball but I know he was only referring to coming back out for the freeon check I told him I would talk to the owner when he got back I know they will not refund any of the money I spent it was appx 1200 I feel like they did what they did either out of incompetencey or to make sure I had to get a new system. I had mentioned that I was looking into a new unit and had gotten a quote but told them I couldn't do anything till after tax time. Good timing huh. Way overpriced too DO NOT USE THESE INCOMPETENT , bone heads Only have a 1 rating because I have to have one to post this
