It had been slowly draining and no snake device or gel clinging agent was working for me. When I had the radio on the other day cruising down the highway, I heard an offer from Kenzie Plumbing. I had seen one of their trucks around, but didn't realize they have already been in business for 10+ years. I made a call on 3.24.2025 and received amazing same day service even though it was not an emergency. A nice young man whose name I cannot recall was courteous and cleaned up when he was done - better than any plumber I've ever hired before! He completed the task in under a half hour. All of my agreements were signed on his mobile phone which made the process seamless and quicker. I paid cash which totaled under $48. Without the promo which I mentioned on the phone, my cost would have been over $147. Thanks, Kenzie - and when my water heater gives out someday I'll definitely call you guys first.

An impending visit from family over the holidays plus my past experiene in dealing with Kerry Manis, a plumber with Roto-Rooter in Hobbs, yielded me to reach out for his services. I didn't realize what time it was on 12/21/2023 because I had already been awake for three hours, however, it was only 7:49AM when Mr. Manis immediatelty answered my call. When he asked me if it was an emergency, it was then that I realized it was still kind of early. I felt like a jerk. Of course it wasn't an emergency because we had another working bathroom and my daughters were at school. I explained I would like to have it fixed as soon as possible. He said he would give me a call when he was able to come by as he had other calls to tend to. He made it by 1PM with a 15-minute heads up and was out within an hour. The bill came out to about $145. This included tax, 2 wax rings at $5.17 apiece, and labor which was $125 for one hour. He was very cordial throughout the process. Worked quickly. Kept me apprised of what was going on. Wasn't nosy. The wax was a bit of a mess when he left, but it was easy to mop up with Clorox wipes - plus no more leaks on my new flooring! I know for a fact he, er Roto Rooters, doesn't do bigger jobs with gas heaters and gas lines - at least not in the capacity that I needed him. I called him in a panick a little less than a year ago about a gas leak in which he gave me a referral. I was ever grateful for his assistance. That's why I called on Mr. Manis for this job instead of waiting on yet another round of non-plumber expertise... as much as I love my friends they are certainly not plumbers. Lol. Recently I heard a quote that sums up my thoughts on AI (artificial intelligence) versus these types of hands-on jobs: "I don't think you're going to see the robot plumber anytime soon." ~ Mike Rowe on The Morning Wire podcast (12/28/2023). Back on March 1, 2023, I had a bit of a scare at the house I have been renovating for myself and my two young daughters. The crew working on my fence alerted me that my gas meter located in the alley where I rarely go was leaking natural gas and hissing. Immediately I called the gas company to shut it off and have a technician make possible repairs on their side. Meanwhile on the phone with the gas company, I checked the closet where my waters heater and furnace were located. As soon as I opened the door the natural gas scent wafted into my nostrils. I was mortified. While waiting for additional recommendations from my friends on Facebook, I started calling all the local companies I could think of. Because it was late morning, I thought someone would surely be able to swing by. The plumbers I called either didn't pick up, didn't do work on gas lines, or told me they couldn't make it until the following day. A nice man with Roto Rooters soon called me back and gave me MTI as a good local rec. I was so thankful and owe him a special shoutout, but as I write I have had no issues with the work MTI provided. No more leaks AND my water heater plumbing is now up to code whereas before it was not (I was informed of this during my home inspection - just didn't think it would be this soon that I would rectify that situation - LOL). When I called MTI, the nice lady on the other end of the line almost immediately answered my call and had the owner come over within an hour or so to check everything out. He was very thorough. From the beginning to the end of this project, there were no surprises and I was informed of what was going on the whole time. The only thing I didn't like was waiting for the inspector to approve MTI's work so my gas could eventually be turned back on, but I can't count against them for that because he's a city employee. The project was completed by March 9 with my gas back on approved by said inspector the following day. It turned out to be a bit of an ordeal with a tab of nearly $3,000 mainly because the line had to be dug out of the ground and replaced, but now my peace of mind is at ease and I feel much relief bringing my children and our pets and the rest of my family into this home now. Thanks, owner Mark Smith & employee Justin, for your speedy work & thorough explanations for me - the ol' worry wart. And thanks for always picking up the phone when I called. It was a tremendous learning experience not to mention a blessing that this happened while we were not living there just yet. Basically all forms of payment are accepted... cash, checks, and credit cards. I posted a photo of their business card. On another note, I love their patriotism and love for our country. I had a water line break yesterday. i did not call M&M Plumbing because a few years ago I called them. I left a message, and never heard from them. So, I had the local plumber come in and fix the leak. To my amazement I discovered that I still had galvanized piping. It was allegedly replaced by M&M Plumbing. I now, miraculously continue to have old piping under my house. I was charged a hefty amount for what I thought was replacement of all the pipes underneath my house. I guess there was a fine print that I did not see. Now I understand why they did not answer my calls when I tried to call them a few years back for the same situation.
