The worst treatment I've ever got, resulting in life changing nerve pain! I came in for lower back pain, but he found it necessary to also manipulate my neck. I questioned it, but he insisted he does this to every patient and even his family. Right on the table something happened in my neck and I got strong nerve pain instantly in both my hands and lower arms. " What the heck"? He did not want to acknowledge anything and kept going on like nothing happened. Now almost 16 months after the incident I'm still suffering excruciating nerve pain, have to take 3 different medicine to get me through the day: my life has changed significantly for the worse. Be careful with neck adjustments ! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Heller for many years. Always seems to cure whatever issue I am having with my back. I have recommended several friends to him over the 30 years that I have been a patient of his. I have tried other chiropractors but none come close. He really treats the issue. It's not just an adjustment. Plus, he's the coolest guy in the world. read more

Dr. Heller is an essential part of my fitness routine! I began seeing him in November when a bad fall left me with severe neck pain and vertigo. Since then he has treated almost every physical ailment that I have with a variety of techniques. We began with adjustments to relieve my neck and upper back pain. Although an adjustment can be uncomfortable, the results are simply fantastic. One back adjustment that takes 30 seconds gives me relief that I couldnt get from daily back massages. After he fixed by back and neck he began using Cold Laser to treat the torn ligaments in my ankle. I have felt significant pain relief and improvement with the Cold Laser, and even convinced my husband to try it on his arthritic knees. Most recently, I have been suffering from Jaw pain. I spoke with my dentist and my sports med guy but no one really offered any viable solutions. I casually mentioned it to Dr. Heller and he did a pressure point technique that relieved the pain in 8 seconds! Dr. Heller is an athlete so he really understands my drive to get healed quick. He believes in Total Wellness so he will sometimes recommend stretches, exercises, and supplements to help with strengthening and recovery. I have sent many of my friends to see Dr. Heller after my positive experiences and they have all reported back with good results. His office is clean and well maintained and he takes many different insurance plans and credit cards. He also has an acupuncturist and a massage therapist in the office but I would hold out for the good doc himself. read more

I was very frightful of going to a chiropractor but after injuring both shoulders and having chronic pain, and after seeing multiple doctors who just offered more and more drugs, I wanted something natural. Not only is Dr. Heller fantastic, patient, and knowledgeable his staff is welcoming, concerned and capable. It's a real pleasure going to his office. Plus, the pain has reduced greatly. it used to be i was in pain 90% of the day. Now, I'm uncomfortable about 10% of the day, and some days have no discomfort at all. I am a female and have to say - he is a gentleman and a kind man who takes his work seriously. read more

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Heller for years and he is not only a wonderful chiropractor but a truly caring and kind man. He always knows what adjustments to make and is so easy going and enjoyable to talk with. Highly recommend!!! read more

Dr. Heller is the best! I've had back problems for ages and I noticed a drastic improvement once I started to see him. He is very professional and genuinely cares about his patients. He takes a holistic approach to improving his patients' lives and cares much more than just realigning their spines. For example, he'll take the time to speak about one's diet and give samples of different protein shakes - all in an effort to improve day to day life! I find it's rare when a doctor actually takes the time to figure out the root causes to a problem and Dr. Heller does that! I've recommended friends who are patients of his and have only great things to say about him too. Go see Dr. Heller, your body will thank you. read more

Dr. Jay Heller -- The man with the hands!! I've been to many chiropractors over the years. Some do the quickie-crack thing, while others use their innate, healing intuition combined with years of acquired skill to help their patients become - and remain pain free. Jay Heller is the latter. His calming disposition and great sense of humor always relaxes me so he could do the adjustments my body needs without me tensing up. He is quite brilliant at keeping my mind off of the manipulation that might make me uneasy... and before I know it, voila! The pain eases up and it's somehow a brighter day. The man knows his art; and is quite adept. So, if you're hurting, or just would like to maintain a wellness regimen, Dr. Jay Heller should be programmed in your cell asap. read more

I went to see Dr. Heller very last minute on a Monday morning after I hurt by upper back and neck over the weekend. I could barely move and the pain was making it hard for me to even breathe. His secretary was very friendly and got me in right away. He could tell I was in a lot of pain and kindly helped me into an examining room where he found the problem and got to work. He was very helpful with explaining everything he thought was wrong. After my adjustment I felt much better but still not 100%, the damage was that bad. He invited me to come back again later that day for another adjustment and have it be included in my first copay. After the second session I felt great. Went home after and had a good nights sleep and after slowly working out the muscles myself I felt great. I read a review that someone said as a woman she felt uncomfortable with him. I'm a 25-year-old female and I was more than comfortable with him. He explained everything he was about to do and was completely professional. Sorry if that person felt otherwise. read more

Dr. Heller is a true healer for both body and soul. I've been going to him for at least 15 yrs. He makes you feel like family and treats you as such. I have a back problem for many years and every time I come running to him in pain he immediately addresses the issue with soothing calmness and humor to beat. Within minutes the pain is diminished and I'm breathing a sign of relief. I always leave with a smile on my face from one of his ridiculous jokes and feeling of being well taken care of. LOVE HIM! read more

Jay is, all puns intended, a hands on kind of person who by coincidence is a great chiropractor. Very well scheduled and thorough. Chiropractic works. read more

Dr Jay Heller is a great chiropractor. I have been coming to him for 6 years now, to deal with my endometriosis and chronic back pain. Her uses laser and percurssor machine with great results. My pain has decrease a great deal. He also uses computerized spinal examination to identify problems in your back. He is really through; he even sent me to get x-ray of my back. He is not just cracking bones here people - he is the whole package. He also uses heat to relax my muscles before the adjustment. When I got plantar faciatis, he recommended this costume made insoles that saved my life. I was unable to stand of my feet for long periods of times due to my plantar faciatis (I'm a nurse), but after I started using the insoles I feel like a new person . His receptionist is very nice and shows personal attention. Barely any delays in the appointment. Dr Jay Heller is cool and friendly. read more

Dr. Heller is awesome. I find it extremely difficult to find a good doctor in New York, especially given how saturated the city is with doctors. Dr. Heller is very down to earth and truly listened to my ailments. He used a device to measure muscle tension and just after one adjustment from him I felt better. I am going to continue to go back and recommend him to anyone looking for a great chiropractor. read more

Wow. Dr Heller is actually a magician. After a stressful week and pinching a nerve in my neck twice, only four days apart, I found Dr Heller's practice. He started by listening to everything that was bothering me and then proceeded to put heat on my neck / upper back, which quickly became the best 8 mins of my day. Then, he did a lot of stretching and cracking and whatever else chiropractors do. I feel like a new person and have another appointment in three days. He was patient, identified the problem right away, and took time to listen to me. I could not recommend him more read more

Dr Heller is a miracle-worker. If you are in any kind of pain - he will be able to help you. I've tried massages and acupuncture for back pain relief and they are no match to the skillful hands of Dr. Heller. I was referred to Dr Heller about 5 years ago and he is the first and only Chiropractor I will see. He runs a clean and cozy office; he and his staff are friendly and knowledgeable and I believe they accept most insurance policies. His office also offers other wellness care products and services - it's the kind of place you want to keep a secret but have to tell others about because good, attentive, personal medical care like this is hard to find. read more

Dr. Heller is fantastic. He is a very nice man, with a good sense of humor. I felt very much at ease in his care, and felt so much better after my appointment. I have only been to one other chiropractor and there is no comparison! Dr. Heller will be the only chiropractor that I see from now on. read more

Dr. Heller, while he makes good adjustments, is a rather creepy person in an odd office. Not only does he have sexually offending jokes on the walls, he also crosses the lines with his female clients. I felt not comfortable with him from the beginning, and in our fourth session he kissed me on my cheeks, which was completely unprofessional and was clearly crossing the doctor/client boundaries. He is clearly a creep and I would not suggest that younger females go to him. Needless to say, I never returned. read more

Dr. Heller has been my go to chiropractor for the past couple years. I have a tendency to have back spasms, and there hasn't been one occurrence where he hasn't fit me into his schedule, let alone healed the spasm. Patients and healing is his main priority, and it is apparent time and time again. I highly recommend him if you're in need and in the area. read more

My husband has been going to dr Heller for awhile and always raved about him. I unfortunately threw my back out last week so also had to go and see him, first time ever to a chiropractor . I was nervous and in agony and thought it would hurt like heck but he was so gentle it was like going to a spa ! So relaxing but effective and i felt better after the first visit. The entire office staff are soooo nice and put up with my rowdy kids and had a good laugh with them and dr heller is so friendly and experienced and just a great experience overall. Highly recommend !!!! read more

Had what I thought was a pinched nerve in my neck. Suffered through four weeks of pain in my neck and shoulder. Couldn't run or go to the gym and it was extremely uncomfortable to sleep. I was miserable! Decided to go to Dr Heller and he fixed me in 15 minutes. No joke, 15 minutes. If there is anyone out there who is weary of chiropracty, don't be! You will just end up feeling stupid like me for waiting through four weeks of pain to fix something so easily. And he's a nice guy. read more

I am so lucky to have Dr. Heller in my neighborhood. But his caring professional adjustments and other health related modalities are well worth the trip from anywhere. His staff is kind and helpful. His demeanor is friendly and he always makes you feel that he has time for you. He makes himself available should you have an emergency. One could not ask for more from a health care professional. Dr. Jay, you rock! read more

I've been going to Jay on and off for the past few years and just ADORE him, his uber-professional, warm and considerate care, super comfy and intimate best-kept secret West Village office and welcoming staff. Perfect too for a first-time chiropractic experience, especially for those who are bigtime cowards and terrified by the idea of getting this type of (holistic) treatment, too. Which I must say I was so representative of the first time I practically dragged myself to see him for a minor problem and then after, for a truly traumatic injury, resulting from a terrible accident that badly injured my writing/computer use hand. But instead of having to face spending the rest of my life with a wrist held together with steel pins, to say nothing of going into the hospital for an operation that MIGHT restore the use of my hand (something I am totally adverse to and absolutely dreaded the idea of), I opted to go back to my trusty chiropractor instead who, within a short time, by administering a series of cold laser treatments to the injured paw (and who also buoyed up my spirits with kind and reassuring words of encouragement), I then was able to go back to almost 100%...this after believing I would be maimed (from this first-time broken bone) for life, too! And due to being tethered to my computer for my business, I then later developed sciatic back pains for which again, I went back to Dr. Heller for - but foolishly didn't give the treatments enough time to kick in, and opted instead to try a series of other methods for a quick holistic fix for the problem, including acupuncture, massage, trigger point therapy, etc., but nothing seemed to address the issue. So I will once more be going back to who I consider "the miracle healer", to totally get this bod realigned and adjusted into pain-free shape again. And I know all my aforesaid sentiments are echoed by those of his loyal family of patients, including regulars the likes of Abbi Jacobson and the rest of the Broad City cast (which btw, Jay recently appeared on in a cameo performance!), the famed American-Brazilian chanteuse, Bebel Gilberto and (I've heard), as well as members of intertional royalty (no names, please...), too. Oh, I should also mention that Dr. Jay accepts many types of insurance (and his services too, are so affordable), his office is conveniently open five weekdays with hours, as well, on the first Saturday of the month, he and his staff will go out of their way to make arrangements for emergency appointments and another reason I just look forward to my visits there is his terrific sense of humor that puts me in such a great mood, both anticipating going to and then leaving his office! I just can't rave about him/his practice enough! read more
