Brought my 1955 Bel Air with 2-speed Powerglide to them after having trouble shifting into reverse. Since their website lists that particular transmission, and not many others are willing to even touch it, I delivered to them to take a look. The cause was found, simple fix for them, and I drove the car off the lot and travelled 50 miles back home. The transmission never missed a beat and shifted smoothly all the way. I have more put on an additional 200 miles. If you have a classic car and having issues, this is the place to take it. Service has been terrible! I began having transmission issues on August 21. I called this business on the morning of August 22 and asked if I had the vehicle towed there if they'd be able to take a look at it. They indicated that they were a couple of weeks out on making repairs, but thought they would be able to pull the vehicle in and pull the pan and get an idea of what needed to be done. They also indicated that it sounded (based on my description of the issues) like it would be likely that I would need a new transmission. I made the mistake of mentioning that I would probably not be put a new transmission in it if that did turn out to be the case. I had the vehicle towed there on the 22nd of August. The next morning I stopped to get my parking tag for work and the back bumper of my vehicle was smashed in. I called when I got to work and they said that had happened when they were moving it with a tractor the previous day. They said they would try to get it pushed back out after they look at is. I called a few days later to ask if they had had a chance to look at it and they said they hadn't yet. I stopped into their office on August 31 and asked again if they had looked at it yet. They said they would try to get it looked at on Friday, September 1. Otherwise, they wouldn't get to it until after Labor Day. I called again this morning (September 8) after my vehicle has been sitting there for 17 days and asked if they have looked at it yet. They said they needed to look into where they were at with it and would call me right back. That was just over an hour ago and they have not called back. To this point all they have done for me is cause damage to my vehicle, which they do not appear to have any intention of rectifying. read more

My parents were on their first cross country to visit my dads brother from Wyoming and meet up in Montana, pulling a camper that they just bought a week ago!! Right out of Sioux Falls the transmission begins to slip, sending both of them into a panic mode and ofcourse me being 1200 miles away in PA all I can do is keep them calm. I called 4 shops in the area and on pure conversation with shops, I chose Jay Egge! My parents were able to get set up in a campground and drove into Egge. Egge staff jumped right in the truck and took it out for diagnosis, keep in mind this is a Monday around 3:30, they then took my parents back to camp. Tuesday morning they called with diagnosis and several options. By Tuesday evening at 5 they had the truck almost ready to go with a completely rebuilt transmission. just dont go there if you work hard for your money, and care about or need your car for things like getting groceries or getting to work. was told my trans would be rebuilt. he had it for a month, gave me a p.o.s.to drive, it took so long i started calling around checking prices on used trans. called up nordstroms, they notified me that Todd had put a 160,000 mile trans on hold, my car was the only 1 on his lot it was going to work in! i told him that for $3000 he had told me my trans was going to be completely rebuilt. 160,000 out of a totaled vehicle is NOT rebuilt. he wanted to give me a 15000 mile warranty, until i told him i found out about nordstroms. he then said he would give me a 3 yr. 100,000 mile warranty. but when i picked up the car the milage he wrote down was 115,000 miles more than the odometer read. WHAT A WARRANTY. to shorten the story, took it in right after i got it back because it wasnt right. then 1 1/2 yrs later my trans has locked up and caused my motor to explode. i cannot get the trans out of gear. it locked up on the interstate at 80 mph. so save your $ find another transmission repair shop read more
