I've never really "hired" a handyman before Jim, but of all of the handymen I've ever dealt…read morewith--Jim is the most clean cut, extremely professional, reliable, and incredibly genuine. Jim's hourly rates are reasonable and he does not overcharge, even if he over/underestimates (especially if a quote is given over the phone without seeing the actual place that needs work done)--his fees are appropriate and completely reasonable. I've just moved into a studio apartment that required a much needed upgrade. I called a bunch of handyman services that I found on Yelp, and Jim was only 1 of 3 that got back to me on the same day. Since he was so friendly and patient with my request, I immediately scheduled an appointment with him. He confirmed our appointment the evening before, arrived on time, and promptly got to work after greeting me. He painted my kitchen, bathroom, and a wall in the living room...and my apartment now looks amazing! He also installed a new showerhead and changed my toilet seat in literally less than 5 minutes. Throughout the day, he was also very conversational and friendly. More importantly, I felt that I could trust him with my apartment and belongings, as I left for a couple of hours while he was still working. Hiring Jim was SO worth it (and I paid out of my own pocket since my landlord was not required to make all of the updates that I wanted to make)...I'm loving my apartment!

We bought a house with 99-year-old knob-and-tube wiring throughout 60% of the house. It all had to…read morebe pulled out and replaced. At the same time, we wanted to install new recessed lights in several rooms, a new chandelier, had a doorbell that existed in theory but did not actually ring anything, and old thermostats that needed to be replaced. We then had a number of other repairs we realized we needed, and new outlets and lights to install. The project lasted on/off for three months. Mike Dininno Electric was there from the start, and Mike helped us take care of it all. The results, now complete, are excellent. Mike was easy to work with. He's a pleasant guy to chat with and good at explaining the work being done. He was patient in the face of many questions, and we felt we could ask him anything. Beyond just electric, he also gave advice on things like the placement and quantity of lights. He was flexible on the wording of his contract, and flexible in his scheduling, offering to come out on almost any time, any day--whatever made sense at the time. He was always easy to get a hold of. Though Mike did some of the work himself, he has a staff. Pete, who ran the majority of our project, was also easy to get a hold of, did great work, was easy to work with, chat with, and to have around the house. I gave Pete and Mike what I felt were a lot of details, and I can't think of any they missed. You'd expect a house in the midst of this sort of work to be a mess, but they kept it surprisingly clean. Mike also referred us to good people. After the bulk of the electric work, we needed to re-plaster and paint a lot of the house, and his painter friend, Toni, and his staff, did exquisite work. When the installation of a Nest proved a little trickier than anticipated, Mike was quick to call HVAC experts he knew could do it better than he could. Moving into an old house was chaotic and introduced us to a seemingly endless list of tasks. Mike Dininno helped make a lot of it easier.

From the initial visit to the final installation, Mike was responsive, punctual and delivered on all promises. We were under the gun with timing and while most contractors promise the world and deliver far less, Mike said he would do the best he could and, in the end, over delivered. He got multiple rooms done in one day and was able to seamlessly hang two large TVs. The work came out perfect and he cleaned up everything before he left. Five star service, A+ experience!! I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend Mike DiNinno Electric.

He sub-contracts out to others. After the installation was complete, the town inspector failed two things. The subs screwed the ground wires into the electrical box which is apparently not acceptable and didn't put a special paste on the aluminum wires at the main connection lugs. The subs didn't use green colored wire for the grounds and the inspector was not too happy about that either but didn't fail the installation for that. I had a quote from another contracter for a couple hundred dollars more that maybe I should have taken instead. This installation is fine but, should have never failed if the subs were experienced. I will use someone else next time.

Dean is awesome! Let me tell you my experience…read more My tenant lives in the top unit of my two unit apt. This morning he texted me that the heater wasn't working correctly. It is very cold these couple of days so immediately I was investigating the issue. Apparently I realized I had a thermostat installed improperly a couple weeks ago in my tenants up unit. Every time the tenant turned on the thermostat to heat, the furnace and the AC condenser would turn on. At first I thought he was using the thermostat improperly but today I realized the previous technician wired the new thermostat incorrectly. As I learned what the issue was, I try to reach the previous technician but he was nowhere to be found! So as a landlord I can't have my tenants out in the cold with the AC on... I immediately searched for ac/heater technician in my area. But today is a Saturday and also Veterans Day so I wasn't too optimistic I can have someone come out to my place so quickly. I did a quick yelp search for a technician and Green Apple came up around my area. I gave them a call and Dean picked up. He was currently on a job but he said he can service me right afterwards. To my surprise Dean showed up at my doorsteps at 8:15pm on Saturday Veterans Day. This just shows he is very responsive and hold true to his word that he will show. He quickly opened up my thermostat, did a quick diagnostic test and immediately knew what the problem was. He rewired it correctly and finished the job in 10minutes. He told me that the previous technician had no idea what he was doing. Most of these guys that calls themselves an AC guy is not even knowledgeable in this field. Having my condenser running below 50 degrees outside can have it blow any minute. I was extremely upset of how the previous tech handled the job and I am so grateful to have Dean checked out my thermostat. This guy is super awesome, reliable, straight forward and good pricing given that it was a weekend holiday! I would definitely be using dean for all my ac/furnace needs. Great guy. Very knowledgeable!
