3 tenders and fries
Megan V.

My fiance and I are big fans of hot chicken, so when Jay Bird's opened on our side of town we were excited! It took us awhile to try it, but tonight we finally made it there. It's located right on the intersection of Nellis and Sahara, with ample parking and has outside seating, which is so rare in Vegas! We decided to take our order to go, but they have plenty of indoor seating as well. The menu is pretty simple, but has a variety where there is something for everyone. We both opted for the 3 tenders and fries, hot level. The price point is so low, especially compared to other hot chicken places, which are essentially double the price. Accordingly, I was a bit skeptical. Our food was ready within 5 minutes and the chicken was still piping hot by the time we arrived home, about 10 minutes later. The fries were lukewarm, however. Unfortunately they didn't give me the smoked ketchup I ordered, but our orders were accurate otherwise. The chicken was so tender and juicy, with a generous amount of seasoning. We were both underwhelmed by the spice level and agreed we'd try the next level up next time as it wasn't spicy at all, at least for us. The fries were okay, nothing special. Overall, this is a great value for your money and is a tasty option, especially with limited options for food on this side of town. We will be back, just a spice level up next time!

The tenders taste like they've been sitting under a heat lamp for at least 30 minutes. They were over cooked and dried out. The fries were soggy and it all lacked seasoning.

First foray into JayBirds chicken. The chicken itself, large and juicy. The spicy fries were awfully good as well. If like.me you are.a fan of Nashville hot chicken, order a spice level or two above your normal levels that you would get most other places. For some people this is a good thing, but thought medium would be exactly that, but it was mild at best, tasty but mild. Skip the coleslaw unless you are getting it on a sandwich. The sauces were also pretty good if not also a bit mild in flavor.

So glad this location is open! Use to come here all the time when it was farm basket. I missed having an awesome chicken place on this side of town. I'm happy to report this place is awesome. The baby jay sandwich I tried yesterday is huge! It's also very flavorful. The staff here is super friendly. Almo who helped me up front recommended the blazing fries. So I had those today, another winner. The Mac & cheese is good and creamy. I was also really happy to see Betty is working here. I'll definitely making this a new regular spot.

So good! The extra hot tender was WAY too hot for me but they did warn me lol! I will be back! The service was great and the food was fresh and hot, literally!

3 hot chicken finger combo, ranch, buffalo, smoked ketchup, special sauce, lemonade, spicy fries

You should definitely try it!! It was really good. We loved the hot chicken fingers and spicy fries! I loved the ranch! The $5 chicken sandwich is a great deal and very yummy. Good prices for everything.

Service was fairly quick since I did request an order for four people. They have different heat levels. Fire level is their spiciest and it is way spicier than Dave's hot chicken. So be careful if you think you can handle the heat‍ Chicken was very juicy and breading was nice and crunchy. Good sized strips and reasonably priced. I think 3 chicken strips with fries were around $10-12. I would definitely recommend.

French fries with side of Buttermilk Ranch and Smoked Tomato Ketchup.

Total disappointment with the food, though the cashier was friendly and helpful. The chicken sandwich failed completely: the chicken was under-cooked, the breading fell right off, and the requested "extra hot spice" was mild. The mac and cheese filling was entirely flavorless. Sides were poor, too: cold, basic fries and a "special sauce" that was a cheap rip-off (tasting like ketchup and pizza sauce). The ranch was generic. Quality control is seriously lacking. Save your money; this meal is absolutely not worth the disappointment.

Solo tender plus rice

Back again since they opened. I got the plain solo tender and fries but changed it to dirty rice. The rice was really good; like Cajun style. Yummy. I'll be back

Blazing fries

Food tasted great and came out pretty quick and it's not over priced like all the other places. Portion size is great too!

It was not good at all!

You can pay with debit/ credit card but there is a $1 transaction fee, best to pay in cash. Hours of operation hasn't been updated recently. This spot closes around 9-9:30pm every night. Also, their $1.50 tacos they advertise outside? It only pertains to chicken tacos and you have to order a minmum of 4 to get the discounted rate. Otherwise, I believe they run around $4 a piece. So, just some food for thought. I posted a pic of a chicken burrito I last ordered but I've ate several items at this food truck before. Although, I haven't tried any of their birria items which seems to be a bit of their niche despite being its mostly known for their chicken. Folks seem tonrave about it though. I found their food to be hit and miss. I like their asada but tends to be a bit too salty for me at times and sometimes grisly. I ordered an al pastor torta awhile back and couldn't finish it due to it's preparation and texture. Because the meat was SUPER hot (temp wise) all the veggies inside just turned to mush and wilted. Also, there was a TON of mayo which drowned any type of flavor from anything else. I found that their chicken is a bit dry and have come across some bones in their burrito, so, be cautious. I will say I do enjoy their al pastor tacos and quesadillas. They have good beans as well. They do have a salsa bar that offer a couple of sauces that all seem pretty spicy (even for me!). They use to serve this guacamole type salsa but haven't for a minute now. Too bad, that stuff was fire! Overall, not a bad spot. Service is pretty good, relatively cheap. I like it and will continue to go there when in a clutch and still live nearby. 3 stars, yo.

They are located in the Cosmopolitan food hall serving up nashville fried chicken, sides, and some boozy drinks. There's seating shared with the rest of the places in the food hall, and you order at the counter then self-seat. Service was fast and friendly. This is a super casual no-frills spot and food came out quick. Big portions (3 tender meal was enough to share between 2) and tasty drinks! Pricing was a bit less than what I saw from other chicken tender meals at other food courts. PARKING : N/A -- we walked here since we were staying on the Strip and ended up at the Cosmo FOOD/DRINKS : Tenders - 3 big tenders served with 1 side and 1 sauce + slice of white bread - We got mid spicy but they had several other spice levels. The tenders were BIG and shareable, but not the juiciest and got a tad salty after eating for a while. Comeback sauce was really good to pair with everything though! For the side, we chose Pimento Mac and Cheese. So creamy and cheesy with good pimento flavor! A la Carte Side - We got some fries on the side and it was the best decision! The fries were thick cut, SO well seasoned, and stayed crisp despite sitting for a while as we ate. Big portion too! Peach Vodka Sweet Tea Slush - Had to get a boozy slush since we were in Vegas! This def had the peach vodka flavor front and center -- a fun and tasty drink!

( this new tipping in fast food is ridiculous) Eye roll included. Not a great start. Yes, the chicken came out hot that's the one thing it got right. But the breading is nowhere close to real Southern fried chicken. It's heavy, OVERLY greasy, and misses the mark completely. The ranch tasted bottled, the sweet tea wasn't fresh (straight dispenser vibes), and the peach cobbler had zero flavor only saved by the vanilla ice cream. It smells amazing walking up, but don't fall for it. $31 for a greasy, underwhelming meal with attitude on the side? Hard pass. Wouldn't come back or recommend. * it just leaves me thinking, of all the amazing Mom and pop spots in the small southern towns that I call home. I know a handful of restaurants that could absolutely flourish if given the chance in a location such as the cosmopolitan.

We said no and he kindly laid out the menu before us and walked us thru the many offerings and how the process worked. Anyplace that has a roll of paper towels on the table gets a gold star from me and helps me get into the proper mindset for what is to come. I got the New Orleans style sandwich with coleslaw. My daughter got a chicken plate with garlic bread, coleslaw and fries. Everything arrived quickly to the table and all items were nice and hot. My chicken sandwich had great flavors not the one single flavor some competitors sell. I added some coleslaw to my sandwich and the added crunch and cool dressing was a great addition to my sandwich. My daughter tried dipping her tenders in the honey mustard and ranch dips she had selected. She decided the ranch was her favorite. The garlic toast was nice punch of flavor that was t expected. All in all, a very nice visit. Next time I will be sure to try a milkshake too!

They give you a large piece of chicken breast for your sandwich and the sauce that they make is really good with it. However, they only add pickles. And the sandwich really does not come with anything else apart from pickles and the sauce. In my opinion, I feel like it needed lettuce. However, we were kind of in a hurry, and I didn't even look to see if you could add lettuce to it. Service was pretty quick. There isn't a lot of interaction you basically order and then they bring out your food and that's it. Kind of felt more like a fast food restaurant versus an actual restaurant. Anyways, I would be open to eating there again. I would just probably add cheese and lettuce to my sandwich And actually get their fries.
