We went again to Jax cooking studio and Andrea was our chef. As always everything was so detailed and well thought out to make a seamless and stress free cooking experience. I highly recommend this place! On the menu: -Spinach Salad with Strawberries, Blue Cheese, and Bourbon Vinaigrette -Whiskey-glazed Steak with Whiskey Battered Onion Straws -Bourbon Bacon Brussels Sprouts and Mushrooms -Maple Bourbon Bananas Foster with Vanilla Ice Cream My favorite hands down was the steak with the onion straws. That whiskey glaze was amazing! Can't wait to recreate this at home.

Attended a sushi making class with a large group. It included spring roll appetizer, a chocolate lava cake and three sushi rolls. Won't say I'm an expert at rolling sushi but it sure was fun trying it.

Steak with mushroom pan sauce, brussel sprouts with bacon, sweet potato soufflé, and grand marnier soufflé.

This was a wonderful experience! My husband and I took a class for my birthday and we had so much fun. The chefs are very knowledgeable, friendly and willing to help. The demonstrations were great. The chefs broke down the cooking process in a way where it was not intimidating, but rather gave you confidence that you could do it. The recipes were there in front of you however it was emphasized that we had freedom over our dishes to season and cook the way we wanted to. The food was delicious! The staff was like a well oiled machine with the clean up, dish washing, and making sure everyone had an enjoyable time. The only thing I wish the website listed that we could bring our own drinks. They do serve wine for free, however we found out we could have brought our own.

Unique, fun date night! Upon entering we were kindly greeted by the attentive staff and sous chef who led us to our workstation and gave us a quick rundown of how the night would progress. A variety of complimentary wines were also served as we waited for the remainder of the class to arrive. We started promptly as Chef Melissa demonstrated the first course and dessert for us to start baking. Conveniently placed monitors and an overhead camera helped provide an adequate view of the demonstrations even from afar. Recipes were simple to follow but helped establish good techniques that we will take home. We cook a fair amount at home, but the class was not too simplistic as to keep several different levels of cooks engaged. The pre-portioned ingredients and roaming staff taking away dirty dishes leaves you and your date to enjoy the fun parts of cooking without the hassles. Classes are priced very fairly for the portions and quality of the food/experience (6-7oz sirloins, 8 shrimp, ~6oz lobster, 8 scallops). Only around 8-10 couples were present making the night feel personalized and intimate. We would love to go back with friends another time!

Omg this place is so much fun! If you're looking for your next date night or what to do when your mom comes to town look no further! The employees were very kind and professional ! Even as 2 people that cook most days of the week, we learned lots of new terms and really enjoyed the class! It was a very great price especially for the amount of food that you get! Wine was also included for our meal which was a nice bonus! We can't wait to go back!

Such a great experience with friends. Chef Will and staff were so hospitable and instructions were clear to follow. This was a great activity for friends, coworkers, or people just wanting to learn some new recipes in a welcoming environment. All the ingredients are provided to you along with the recipe, and you can follow and season the dishes to your liking. Will be coming back.

This cooking studio was gracious enough to host our company when we were turned down twice from other studios, one was closing and had no availability left and the other just had no availability. We were able to pick a theme which we went with Southeast Asian Cuisine: Chicken Lettuce Wraps -Fan favorite made with a rich soy sauce, water chestnuts, and scallions Lumpia - Lightly fried spring rolls filled with ground pork and served with a sweet chili sauce Shrimp Pad Thai - Stir-fried rice noodles, shrimp, bean sprouts, peanuts, and a savory and slightly sweet sauce Thai Cucumber Salad with Red Onions and Peanuts - Perfect paring with the shrimp pad Thai Sounds good. We left after work and the drive out JTB to Beach Blvd wasn't bad at all. Parking was easy for me as I was able to slip into an open spot right in front of the entrance but it seems like the patrons of the Pilates studio took over most of the area. Watching them come and go was interesting. The studio is gorgeous. I love that they were growing herbs outside and inside the doors. The space is different from what I'm used to with cooking schools as the stations were on the side walls facing away from the center and a group seating at a table in the center. It ended up being 9 of us that could come out and we had a blast. Thanks for offering the water and wine to start, though some of us went hard for the wine lol. Starting the class, we were shown step by step how to make the dish up front at the chefs counter and then we divided up into teams to make the dish. Me and my partner messed up a few of the specific cutting techniques, left out seasonings, and even burning one of the lumpias just the make sure that the pork was done. It's fine we still ate everything and were really full by the end. Everyone got home safely and I haven't seen the photos yet but I'm sure they will have lots of smiles and laughs. We also got a copy of the recipes to take home and make again. While I'm not as confident I can do better than what I did in class I'm willing to give it another try. Thanks for hosting us!

I've taken several cooking classes over the years, some in the cities where I lived, and other times, on vacation. I see this place frequently on drives down Beach Blvd and I've been wanting to stop in. I recently found an open class at the last minute for "iconic Italian cuisine" and signed us up. The class is from 6:30 to 9 PM and it starts with a brief welcome by the chef, followed by demonstrations throughout the night and a return to our cooking station to re-create the dish that we were just shown how to make. There was a brief break early on for us to eat our appetizer before we actually sat down for our entree, sides, and dessert. I really enjoyed the evening. My one suggestion would be for those who don't or can't drink wine, it would be nice if they offered lemonade, iced tea, soda, or something other than just water, particularly since the wine appeared to be included in the cost of the meal. Otherwise, we had a great time and plenty of leftovers. I look forward to returning.

What a GREAT night. We took the Knives and Steak class. Not only was the final meal absolutely delicious but I learned soooo much! I have been cooking for years and didn't think I was going to learn anything but i absolutely learned a ton of general information. I recommend and will be attending again with my husband and again with friends!

    Complimentary bubbles with the class!

Love, love this cooking studio!! I had known about Jax Cooking studio for awhile but had never visited, I knew it was a little bit more expensive then some other cooking classes around town, but a friend invited me to come to a class with her and I was thrilled to go try it! She picked a seafood feast as the theme of the night, and we ate SO good! Walking in it's very pretty inside, you're greeted with wine which is always welcomed! individual table set up and separate cooking units so what you make you eat, which is cool I've been to cooking classes where everyone makes a dish then everyone shares it. The chef is up at the front he calls you up and you watch him make the first dish, then you go make it with assistants walking around to help if needed! Our menu was: Seared scallops on a fancy salad with homemade vinaigrette dressing Crispy skin salmon- a first for me! Goat cheese mashed potatoes Roasted tricolored carrots with honey soy Quick cheesecake with fresh raspberries When I say everything was delicious, I mean so good! Really enjoyed the whole experience! Can't wait to do another, I think book classes early cause they sell out fast!

I almost did not write a review in hopes people would not fill up the classes. I had an amazing time. The instructors are helpful and nice. Genuinely nice and not the generic customer service nice. Everything is set up and portioned out so I did not have to worry about how hot the oil was or what the measurements were. They took out the non-fun parts of cooking. The food was also excellent. I have never made Loompa or, Bahn mi but they tasted amazing. We brought food home too. The studio also provides water and wine. It was a really nice touch. I will be back!

What a wonderful birthday present my daughter, Vanessa got me! We made 6 different things with our instructor chef, Sara. She was a natural showing us how the recipes would be made snd then cooked..from start to finish then we went to our station (stove with all cookware) snd did the same. Personnel circulated if you needed help. We made a caramelized pear /Brie tart, butternut squash/spinach quiche where we made the pie crust to it, made maple glazed apple Turkey sausages, had a nice autum harvest salad with our made apple cider vinaigrette snd apple cinnamon crisp. Everything tasted great snd we even had left overs!

This is the second Time we have gone here and the second time we have left extremely happy. Tonight's meal consist of fried pickles for an appetizer, fried chicken, baked Mac and cheese, and green beans for the meal, and peach cobbler for dessert. I have officially found my new fried chicken recipe. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The class itself is entertaining and educational.

Sur La Table is a whole experience!…read more Sur La Table was such a vibe! This class ended up being one of the absolute highlights of my trip to Jacksonville. My friend and I had the time of our lives, and it honestly felt like the perfect mix of learning, laughing, and connecting. One thing I loved most was how inclusive the whole experience is. Everyone gets a role, everyone gets involved, and you naturally end up chatting with new people. We met the sweetest couple and clicked instantly--it felt like we'd known them forever. Such a great way to build community while doing something fun. Quick note for anyone with dietary restrictions: I don't eat meat, and this particular class featured steak. They let me know that if I had called ahead, they would've happily made accommodations. So if you have allergies or restrictions, give them a heads‑up! They're extremely accommodating, which I really appreciated. We booked the Chef's Table date night class, and the menu was incredible. We made homemade gnocchi, a fresh salad, and a strawberry‑thyme sorbet that was a 10/10. The whole meal was simple, approachable, and taught in a way that made even "fancy" dishes feel doable at home. I left feeling inspired and ready to recreate everything in my own kitchen. Huge shoutout to our chef--he was from South Florida, and although I can't remember his name, he deserves all the praise. He explained everything clearly, shared a bit about himself, made everyone feel comfortable, and kept the energy fun and collaborative. His team and the store staff were just as amazing--kind, helpful, and genuinely excited to be there. From the safety walkthrough to the hands‑on techniques, everything was thoughtful and well‑organized. I'm already looking forward to coming back and doing it all over again. Thank you, Sur La Table, for such an unforgettable experience!

Luis was very knowledgeable, hands on, and engaging. It also felt very tailored to our experience level, as sometimes he would give more directions and less at other times. And, most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. Our roasted chicken was so so juicy and tender, the mashed potatoes were perfectly creamy, the salad dressing was divine, and the chocolate soufflé was light and rich at the same time. Oh, and Luis made us some garlic confit that was the perfect addition! We had so many leftovers to take home too. I cannot wait to take another class at Sur La Table!

After some back-and-forth with several prospects, I decided to go with Chef Walter Busconi Lage or "Chef of the World" as he bills himself. He created a few different menus based on our preferred cuisines and we worked together to mix and match some of the elements of each to come to a three-course meal I knew we'd both enjoy. Arriving promptly at 4pm for a 6pm service, he was very friendly and accommodating. Chef Walter brought all of the necessary equipment to perform his craft, and right around 6pm we sat down to our first course of a goat cheese souffle. Impossibly light and rich at the same time, it was a fantastic starter. It came with some mixed greens on the side that were dressed with a flavorful vinaigrette. Our entree was surf and turf: bison ribeye with lobster, served with potatoes dauphinoise and asparagus in an orange zest hollandaise. The bison was cooked to perfection, with a delicious compound butter that helped with the natural leanness of bison. The potatoes were rich and yielding, and the asparagus was tender but still with a nice snap and the creamy hollandaise made it a joy to eat. The one miss on this course was the lobster, which was overly soft and didn't add much to the plate. For dessert we were served a cognac creme brulee with whipped topping. This was the best creme brulee I've ever eaten; the hint of cognac really set off the other flavors and it was not overly sweet. While not inexpensive, Chef Walter is a man who knows his craft. He was friendly, hospitable, punctual, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second to work with him again in the future.
