See the bottom of the cup..its caked with powder...
    Steve D.

We've been going for several months.my wife, daughter, and myself...the quality has been drastically dropping off. I complained the manager, told her about the employee in question...she said she didn't know who I was talking about, but we keep seeing them work totogether..gave them a chance and the girl served me a Monkey Business and the top was covered in powder ! BLAH ! Wife wanted another try today on the way to SJ to do our volunteer work with the homeless, my Reeses Iced Coffee was pure powder at the bottom of the cup I choked drinking it through the straw and had my wife take the wheel while I tried to spit it out so I could swallow and breathe !! NEVER AGAIN !!! Starbucks: we are coming back !!

Every time I come here the staff is always very friendly and great. The pastries are very yummy, I've had the lemon blueberry loaf and it is my favorite pastry there. The chocolate chip cookies can sometimes be a little old tasting. The drinks are always made perfect, also an amazing place to study and get work done, very inviting and comfy . There's outdoor and indoor seating.

Took a pit-stop here to get some coffee on our way to Santa-cruz beach and beyond. They followed all the Covid-19 practices. Doors were wide open and sanitizers were provided. Staff was wearing masks. We got some coffee and they condiments were laid out in a different section. We wanted to buy some vegan baked good but the staff wasn't sure if the items were vegan or not. Overall a nice place to get some coffee and non-vegan baked goods.

Extremely rude and unfriendly staff, and my chai latte tasted like bitter hot water. 10/10 do not recommend.

Stopped in from traveling along the coast. Located in small shopping center, Gateway Plaza. Drinks and bakery items not fresh, no restrooms.

Ultimately, we came here because the other one that we wanted to go to down the street had a line into the parking lot. In hindsight, we probably should have just waited. The ice cream here just didn't stand out. It melted too quickly-almost like it wasn't really kept cold cold. The flavors meshed together and didn't really pop and you know something is odd when after going through 4 flavors, the lady up front say, "that's the best", or "that's one of my favorites" to each and every one of them. Getting your order mixed up was also a deduction. I wanted a brownie sundae and because she was out of hot fudge, asked if that could be replaced with caramel. I said yes, but ended up just getting a caramel sundae without the brownies?! Unfortunately I didn't notice until after I sat down with my sundae to which point, I just didn't care enough to get it fixed. The place seemed dingy and confused. With ice cream, but froyo, it could be a bit confusing. Overall, it just didn't seem genuine. There are too many ice cream shops around and to call this one a local and community focused ice cream shop seems like a bit of a stretch to me.

There were 4 types of chocolate available, but no dark chocolate. I opted for a double chocolate fudge brownie milkshake. They didn't have lowfat milk but the worker was friendly and offered to put less milk. Strangely, the shake ended up being on the watery side. It also wasn't quite filled to the top, and even got foamy at the surface. But it was delicious nonetheless.

I am a teacher at a school near by and stopped here for dinner before back to school night. I have always wanted to try Picahna and MAN it didn't disappoint. It was as flavorful S a ribeye ( if not more so). And as tender as a filet. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly, one of the best steaks I have had. Pair that with the house hot sauce and it was simply superb. It didn't stop at the steak, as I said the entire plate was delicious. The rice was well seasoned, the beans were perfectly smokey and the salad was crisp and fresh. On top of the food, the service could not have been friendlier and comforting. I felt very well taken care of and it made the experience that more enjoyable. I will def be back when I have another late night at work and need dinner away from my family in Monterey:

Restaurant has both indoor seating with high and low tables, and outdoor patio seating. Small parking lot. I can imagine this is popular spot in evenings and weekends. We shared: Sampa explosion sampler - pao de queijo, coxinha and croquette. Picanha with salad - #1 recommendation from server. It was delicious juicy steak, 12oz serving is enough to split for 2. Comes with the breaded yucca crumbs which provides little extra crunch. Food tasted fresh. Comes with a bean stew which we tried but not huge fan of. Chicken Paulista - DH thought it was okay, nothing special. Parfait de crema - very sweet, rich and creamy. I was so full after.

New Leaf River Street:…read more We got multiple of the large "Just the Right Bite Boxes" for our wedding, and everyone thought we hired a fancy caterer for these individual desserts. They looked beautiful, tasted great, held up well, and honestly were so much better than a cake. Also better (and slightly cheaper) than cupcakes, where we just couldn't find the right option in the area. Everything was ready right on time and pickup went completely as planned. We didn't mean to max New Leaf out, but definitely felt like we'd "hacked" dessert for a crowd. Everybody was talking about the desserts. The staff were also incredibly patient and helped sort out an issue where I accidentally ordered under the wrong email and got things all twisted up. So grateful to the New Leaf River Street team for making it all work perfectly at a time when we really needed it to. So grateful. Highly recommend! First thing I noticed was the multiple security loss prevention. Then I noticed all the services devoted to customer service and convenience the coffee bar , butcher meat area, bakery etc. everything was top notch . They have ready to go meals hot or cold and everything you need for your grocery needs in this side of west Santa Cruz . It's very close to the university so the students here definitely lucked out. Prices are fair too. This grocery market is a great addition to this part of SC!
