Order at the counter and take a seat. Plenty of interesting artwork and album covers on the wall. Coffee was delivered quickly which we enjoyed while we waited for our food. Food order took a little bit. This isn't a place to be in a hurry. I had the breakfast sampler with sausage. The biscuit and gravy were wonderful. The sausage was a bit overdone/ dry, but not too bad. My friend had the avocado toast which looked delicious. If you dig neighborhood places, stop in. You will love it. Cute little coffee place. They don't have an actual jukebox anymore, but they have an ipad with spotify, on which you can play songs. They have some decent breakfast options as well. Usually they have only one barista doing everything. So a good place to stop for a quick coffee snack. read more

This place was so close to our hotel. Literally walking distance from the Hyatt and Rupp Arena. Staff members were so kind with our crazy kiddo, even making him specialized pancakes with a little face on them. We got the French toast sandwich, blueberry muffin latte, breakfast burrito, and s'mores latte. Everything was delicious! Service was so speedy! The place its self is small, but they have maximized the space! It had amazing decor, and was super clean! 10/10 would eat here again! read more

Dear Lexington, please don't go to this place. The owner tucker in "Lane Allen" is a piece of shit. He's genuinely psychotic and he is posting trash reviews on another business just because they have a show at the same night as them not really sure why he's worried about competition if he's doing well in his business honestly, but I went here and ate, and the food was disgusting. There was hair in my food and as I was looking in the kitchen, I noticed that They don't wear gloves, regularly or hair nets and health protocols are not followed at all. I also talked to a barista that used to work there and was told about the way she was treated the stories that are terrible overall ( being screamed at by tucker, not being paid on time or paid late and overall hostile work environment, also was told that on several occasions tucker would start screaming at the top of his lungs while the shop was open, and tucker had the police come to his shop because he smashed his ex girlfriends phone ) just a bad business and they don't know how to treat their employees or serve food while following Kentucky health Regulations. one of the owners doesn't know how to control his emotions and bring things to social media that do not need to be there. I really do feel for the other owner though he seems like a good guy. Maybe if he could just buy tucker out of the business or something he could do really well I do feel for them. Seems like tucker needs some mental health help but even with that the way he treats his customers and staff is not OK and maybe he could come back to the business after getting some help read more

This is a review I LOVE to write. I am so happy this place exists! The menu has great options, the pricing is stellar, and the food is flavourful! I believe the man working was the owner and he was a gem. He welcomed us so enthusiastically, made sure we were taken care of before we got our food, checked on how our food was, invited us back, and was so nice overall. He was the same way with all customers. I heard a group of women talk about how delicious the food is. I heard a couple ordered a second of whatever drink they got because it was so delicious. The atmosphere was darker, but cozy and very homey. It's a place where you feel like you want to sit and stay a while. It's very tastefully styled and pleasant music was playing. I loved the cartoons too!! And thought it was really fun to see a couple play connect 4 while they waited for their food as well as having an Xbox available to play. I ordered a small burrito and it filled me. It was so delicious and always get excited over a toasted tortilla. The breakfast club decided to come here for breakfast(of course ) ! Two of them have been here previously and went on and on about how good it is . I had three pancakes and a side of bacon. Plus an iced oatmilk latte with a shot of swiss chocolate. Sooo.. the pancakes are gigantic and fluffy ! They are literally the size of the plate . In hindsight I should have asked how big they were . I couldn't finish them but I tried . The other two had eggs, toast, bacon and sausage . And finished every bite of it as well. Since they had been before they already knew how good the food is. It does have a parking lot so you don't have to park on the street . They also have a table to sit outside if you wish . They have several tables inside which is with a funky selection of pictures . It is sort of dark inside but lends to the atmosphere. After reading reviews, we decided to check out Java Jukebox. It's a cool little space off of Maxwell with parking nearby, which is always nice. We were going to enjoy a Sunday breakfast and waited probably 15 minutes for our food, as there was a line for to-go orders, which is always a promising sign! Upon walking in, the place smelled smoky from the food - there's no vent hood that I saw, just a prep and cook station on the side, so expect that going in. You'll walk out smelling like food. The service was fine. Not amazing, not bad. I would say they weren't overly friendly BUT they were hustling to prep the orders. Now for the food. I'm heartbroken to share that it was bad. As in, I've been sitting here trying to think of at least one positive to say about it and can't come up with anything at all. Nearly every item was significantly undercooked. I think this was a result of the person cooking that day and the rush for to-go orders and not representative of the usual quality, based on other people's awesome photos and rave reviews. Our food did not look like any of the other great photos I've seen posted. I wish I had taken some of our meal, but I think we were both just shocked. My partner got pancakes and scrambled eggs, and the eggs were questionable. They said there were crunchy bits in the eggs, perhaps shells, and they were concerned about eating them. Their stack of pancakes were also raw in the center and did not come with any butter. Just plain, raw pancakes, barely browned. I got the breakfast sampler/platter. I didn't have any crunchy bits in my eggs, but they were very watery (think like hotel scrambled eggs?). The sausage was very undercooked as well, with no browning on the patty. The biscuit and gravy was edible, and I did eat a few bites of that. The toast was just that - toast with no butter and a packet of jelly. Despite being really hungry, we barely touched our food because we couldn't even choke it down. Not sure if it was due to the rush or just a bad day from the cook (it happens), but we were very disappointed in the meal. I'll definitely come back and try the coffee though, as it's a cool little spot and I want them to succeed. Their February coffee specials looked delicious. Lexington needs these local places, and they deserve our support. Here's hoping this was just a one-off situation. read more

This place is so freaking cool! Its lofi vibes are super chill. The food and coffee are delicious. The owner and the servers are so kind, and they are always checking in to make sure things are how you'd like them and that you're comfortable. It's super cool that they have all kind of games, music, and ways to win free drink (like rolling dice or solving a Rubix Cube!) Java is such a nice coffee shop, and they have my business any day.
