Not really sure how to feel about this place. I definitely think it has a lot of potential; my experience was just kind of odd. This is a drive through coffee shack -- which I love. There are two lanes so they can support a sizeable amount of traffic. They're located a good bit off the main drag but my GPS got me here just fine. They have your standard coffee offerings, lots of frappes, a couple of chai drinks and cocoas, and smoothies. My go-to is usually some sort of flavored iced latte, and I was excited when I saw how many flavor combinations they had, including Java Chip. Any opportunity to fuse chocolate, mint, and coffee together has my attention, so I asked for an iced Java Chip latte. This is where things got a little weird. Per the menu, frappes and iced lattes are paired together. Beneath that heading is a list of about 10 different flavors: Java chip, pumpkin pie, cinnamon caramel dulce, etc. To my eye, that makes it look as though you could order any of those flavors as either a frappe or a latte. The barista told me that they didn't usually make Java chip lattes, just frappes, because the flavor is made from a powder, not a syrup. She did say she COULD make one, just that wasn't how it usually worked. I thought that was weird. Why list the flavors as though they can easily go in either drink when that's not really the case? I inquired about the heath mocha flavor and she told me the same thing. At this point, I was feeling too confused and embarrassed to ask more questions, so I told her to go ahead and make me a medium iced heath mocha latte. No hard feelings toward the barista or anything; she was perfectly professional. Just kind of a confusing situation. I thought my drink was reasonably priced at less than $6 for a medium sized latte. It tasted...okay? As I kind of expected once I learned it was flavored with a powder, it was pretty gritty throughout. I also could've stood for a tiny bit more ice on a hot day. But it was pleasantly chocolatey and had it not had the gritty factor, I'd call it pretty good. I dunno, just kind of a weird experience. I'd give this place another try, but maybe just keep it to a frappe or something in the future. read more

So my morning workout routine is not complete unless I stop at java hut on the way home lol. This might just be the best place to get coffee in the area! I've tried a large variety of their coffees by now and have yet to be disappointed. Their Americano and lattes are my favorite. The staff is wonderful! Java Hut may seem like a random shack just off the beaten bath, but they have a good selection of coffee and other drinks. They are very good. My favorite item is the Eggnog Latte during Christmas. read more

Their regular coffee is cheap but is good. It's good that they don't overprice. They have a lot of options on their menu, from coffee to frappes to tea. Tried this place out to try and support the small businesses. The girls working were nice enough but didn't seem to know how to even make some of the drinks on the menu??? We were so confused here. We pulled up and 2 young girls were outside chatting with friends, which didn't bother me at all. They came inside and seemed nice but they seemed confused on the recipes. We tried ordering a latte and they insisted that there was no espresso in a latte. I was shocked but I went with what they recommended (some banana mocha mix) and I did enjoy it. Small for the price. Another time we pulled up on a Saturday afternoon and nobody was there! I'm not sure how else I can rate this place on the 2 times we've went. This little place is a good find. They have a large selection of flavors and different options, especially for a small place. The girls were friendly and wore their masks. Wow! I was super excited when I saw the post of their new refreshers! I stopped today and got the knock out punch, SO GOOD. It's the perfect amount of sweet and tart, and the seltzer adds such a good kick. I got home and actually squeezed a lime wedge into it as well. I've always loved refreshers from other places, but Java Hut will be my first option from now on, and I love supporting local businesses when I have the opportunity. This is a great little coffee place. Honestly, I prefer it over the larger chain coffee joints. It is easy to miss because it is slightly off the main road and in a tiny building. I was visiting family from out of the state and searched for a local coffee shop to try out. Found it highly recommended and decided to give them a try. The service was very friendly and fast, the 20 below dark chocolate frappe is definitely worth checking out if you like dark chocolate. Love the rich coffee used here and if you like your drinks with some sweet flavor, they have every combination you can think of!
