can I start with BRUH. my husband and I where on a roadtip a few hours away, we stoped at Kimble Dunkin to get a little snack and a drink. BY THE time we left I was about to CRASH OUT. we walked inside waited several mins to order ( of course we expected that, we are very patient) we ordered our drink & hash-browns, snack bacon and 25 doughnut holes. a total of 32 dollars we paid and waited for receipt but no one handed us one, we walked to go sit down. we received our drink, Hashbrowns, bacon quickly. We patiently waited sitting down for our doughnut holes. After 30 mins of waiting for just the holes, my husband walked up to the counter to pay for a soda( he grabbed while waiting) and kindly reminded the cashier that we are waiting for doughnut holes. He asked " did you order any" he said yes , kind sir he looked at my husband like we did not order any. but didn't say anything. so we stayed and waited for them. he said had a few costumers so we waited until he was done making drinks, and fullfilling other orders. my husband , i & a DoorDash driver where the only ones still waiting for something kind sir was leaning on the back counter while my husband was still standing up at the front counter waiting for doughnuts holes.... still.. The kind sir reached in his pocket and handed up a crumbled ball... biitttttccccc it was the recipe. With 25 doughnut holes that we paid for.. 10 mins after he handed us the crumbled ball receipt that I (wife) walked up the the counter said when everyone left " we are waiting on the doughnut holes :)" he said " I ment to ask what kind of doughnut holes you wanted " HUHHHHHHHHH. Like I don't even care tbh. Just put some in a mf box. We have been here for a 35mins and haven't cussed, yelled, and no attitude. I'm 5 more mins from crashing out.

There's only a few spots to park out front, but South Pittsburg is a small town so we don't have any troubles. There are some cute murals/illustrations drawn on the windows of the shop. The inside is modern and clean though, if I'm being super picky, feels a little empty/disconnected in parts. But the A/C was blasting and everything was in order. The menu is a little hard to see imo but the barista was friendly and so I talked with her instead. I asked what her favorite was between two specialty lattes (her answer: the "Bestie," which is a cinnamon roll and white chocolate latte) so that's what I ordered. I got it in the smaller size and iced and she made it for me quickly. Unfortunately, I wound up really not liking this drink. It had a very strong artificial flavor, I suspect from the white chocolate syrup. I have been getting unlucky lately with the syrups places use for white chocolate - I need to remember to stay away from that until I establish it as a shop I really like. The coffee was also on the acrid side, and there wasn't enough ice in the drink. I'm sad to have come away less than pleased, but I certainly might've enjoyed a different drink more. The friendly service and clean space was appreciated.

I keep a running collection of places to try in Chattanooga on my usually-annual trips to the area…read more I added Alessandro's maybe a year or two ago, assuming I could stop along the way in the future. Instead, I came up with my parents to visit the cast iron museum and realized that this place was right around the corner - so I had to visit! This little shop is tucked in the downtown area of South Pittsburg. Much of the inventory is on display as you enter. It's impressive the variety of product the owner has managed to offer in a relatively limited space. This is a legit Italian bakery. The owner was in the shop and made small talk with us about where he learned to bake, how important his family recipes were to him, and about all the care and consideration that goes into each product. He also very generously shared a sample of both a fig spread and a sort of savory feta dip. The feta dip was good but the fig spread was great -- subtly sweet with a very satisfying dense and sticky texture. My parents and I both ordered an Italian cream cake from the cold case. We worried about it on the drive home given the temperature, but the owner said it would be fine and even recommended we take our slices out of the fridge to warm up for 15-20 minutes before eating it. Both recommendations were totally true; our cakes kept well for a few days and were definitely improved by warming slightly (so the icing would be a bit more malleable and smooth). The cakes were absolutely delicious -- not too sweet, a fantastic crumb, and full of nice almond flavor. I also got some chocolate chip biscotti and an Italian thumbprint biscotti with some fig spread on top. The chocolate chip biscotti was my least favorite item, though it was still tasty - it hedged a little on the too-dry side for me, even as far as biscotti goes. Still, I wouldn't object if someone offered me one to eat for free, lol. The almond thumbprint biscotti was completely delightful from start to finish. The chopped nuts inside the cookie added a great crunch, and the delightful fig spread on top added needed moisture and softness and an explosion of fruity flavor. Would highly recommend stopping by to try this bakery if you're ever in the area - heck, it's worth a special trip, if you love pastries like I do :)

Or the absolutely fantastic, sweet and citrusy flavor. Or maybe aI will switch over to the organic fig preserves. I'm not big on organic, but I do like the fact that you're not messing with the tried and true recipe. Large pieces of fig in there just waiting to sit on top of that hot biscuit. I tried a little sample in the store, and it was really old-school delicious. Instead I think I'll start with the fantastic service and truly positive personality of these small shop owners here in South Pittsburgh, Tennessee. Dan and his wife are true artisan's. Handmade. Homemade here is not a stretch. And the number of things they have available in store is limited, but only limited by the fact that each and everyone is handmade by Dan and Alys Alessandro. I understand they make all kinds of delicious pastry and such...more than what even we found (and it was plenty!). And that cannoli we ate right at the counter was Top Shelf. These folks have got it dialed in here in SoPi. Just a super cool shop.

The beef was clearly ground in house and was a wonderful coarse grind. excellent. With the buns charred on the grill, it made an excellent light lunch without any sides needed. Added bonus for house brewed beer. Found the kolsch a tasty lunch treat. Warmish inside, and hot outside, sadly the views that day were shrouded in haze. The food, seating environment and view (or course) are really good. Pricing is on the higher end but fair for what you get. So 3 stars for that. The staff that greets and seats you--as well as our waitress--was unfriendly bordering on rude. Just weird. Our local friends state that there are a lot of out-of-state residents living nearby (especially California expats) and they're not well liked. That may be the case, but it appeared that everyone was treated shabbily. Kinda sours the experience. Lastly, there were a lot of flies. I counted 10 at one time near the entrance, kitchen and booth seating. You can see a few on the photo I attached. That really hurts the dining experience. This is a one and done for us.

My partner had the Jack Benny, their version of eggs hollandaise but with a nice slice of ham. I also got their biscuit, which others had recommended to me. Huge biscuits are the rage but not really my fav. This one was crumbly but well baked. The blueberry jam gave it a high yummy rating. Then a neighbor invited us to dinner and took us here, and now we can't stop going here! There are SO many things on their menu that we can't wait to try. So far, we have had the following: Let me start with dessert, the Creme Brulé is to die for, we get it every single time if there's any still available. We buy it when we walk in the door, before dinner, because it might be gone before we're done eating. Yes sir, it's that good. Now on to what we've had so far. The Apple Pecan salad is a must try, just order the dressing on the side and go sparingly so it doesn't overpower the rest of the awesome ingredients like fuji apples, candied pecans and feta cheese (yum, yum, yummy). The first thing I ate there was the Marge-a-rita, made into a calzone, it was heaven. Made with all fresh ingredients and a homemade marinara served on the side. I'm not normally a red sauce / marinara person but I took the rest of it home, I certainly wasn't going to leave it there! My husband had the Deluxe pizza and said it was fantastic. And of course we had the Creme Brulé for dessert. That Friday, we took our friends out for dinner and brought them here. This time we ordered 4 Brulés before heading upstairs for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised that they had live music up there. A singer named Robert Lee played guitar and harmonica and sang everything from country to Pink Floyd to Fleetwood Mac. He had a beautiful voice and was very entertaining. We will definitely be looking to see him play again. This time I had the Apple Pecan salad, of course, and the Salsa Blanc pizza with sweet Italian sausage made into a calzone. This was an excellent pizza EXCEPT they forgot the sausage and there was at least 20 big cloves of roasted garlic packed into that calzone. WAY too much, if you ask me. One of our friends had the Grilled Deluxe Cheese Melt and he said it was amazing. I give this place 5 stars for delicious, fresh ingredients, the servers are extremely friendly and we got our food fairly quickly. The only down sides, in my opinion, is since it's a small venue it can get really loud, and the service on Friday night left us a little disappointed. Again, our order was a little messed up and our server (who I believe was the manager) should stick to managing. He was super nice but he had a lot of irons in the fire and waiting tables is not what he should be doing. Other than that, we WILL be going back because there are so many more items on their menu that I can't wait to try.
