    Best Coffee EVER!
    Daniel H.

Ok, where to start. So we moved to Crescent City about 5 months ago and we were looking for a Coffee place. There were primarily 3 in the small city of Crescent City: 1) Dutch brothers which is just too sweet and is really not that great but younger kids seem to like it (20 and under) unless one has a serious sweet tooth. 2) Starbucks which is literally everywhere or it seems that way. Initially Starbucks had everything you could ask for but due to multiple reasons they got rid of many of their flavors including almost ALL sugar free options, there is just not enough for those that has type 2 diabetes and cannot have all that sugar in the coffee. Literally they had one option left for sugar free customers and I can honestly say that I have not drank a full cup for the last 4 years as it just started tasting like crap by the bottom of the cup. 3) Then of course there is Java Hut. We ordered the sugar free English Toffee Mocha with and without caffeine and let me just say that it was the best damn coffee that I have EVER had! I mean it was freaking spectacular. To the point that for the last 50 cups I did not finish 1. 1! Seriously I don't think in my entire life that happened with ANY coffee place. Even Los Gatos Coffee Roasting company I had a few cups I just didn't finish. JavaHut 1. Plus there are so many other pro's to the coffee place: 1) They have way longer hours then Starbucks across the street 2) They have way better service 3) The coffee is about 6-8% cheaper than Starbucks (depending on the coffee) 4) In the afternoon shift everyone there is freaking spectacular. They have 5 rotating employees and they are ALL experts at making the coffee. 5) When we pull up we no longer have to tell them what we want unless my kids want coffee, they already know lol. Love it! Cons: The morning shift does not make the coffee as well as the afternoon shift so we just literally come in the late afternoon as the consistency of the coffee is ALWAYS on spot! This is literally the only con. I had waited to write this up to see if things change as with every coffee company something always changes whether it be service, product, or what have you. I think 5 months is long enough. So, if you want spectacular coffee in Crescent City CA then stop by Java Hut! I love Crescent City CA and feel it is the best California City EVER! They make it better. As long as Java Hut is in business I never NEVER get coffee anywhere else! Seriously. Thank you.

If you're heading up or down US-101 and you want strong coffee, make this a must stop in Crescent City, CA. I got a red-eye (house coffee with a shot of espresso). Definitely strong! Had to add extra half & half to take the edge off. Semi long line of cars/trucks in their drive-thru indicate it's a popular place for locals. No indoor seating or ordering at counter, but they do take walk-ups if you want to order at the window. Friendly service.

We were staying in Klamath and wanted to find a good little local coffee spot we thought we would have a good experience here given the reviews, unfortunately that wasn't the case. There was a long line so a girl came out and took our order at our car...on paper... then went to the next cars behind us. The line then moved and we ended up at the front while the girl was still taking orders from the cars behind us...meaning our order never made it to the front. So we reordered. It wasn't great coffee and we didn't finish it. Not sure what it was but it was just lacking. We ordered the Carmelita and the Milk n Cookies.

If you are in town I HIGHLY suggest you stop, search for JAVA Hut and make a stop because you won't be disappointed. The long was long but don't let it stop you.. it goes pretty fast. I got an Icecap with peanut butter and I wish I got large! It was soooo delicious!

    12oz Milk N' Cookies

Friendly, quick service. Milk n' cookies specialty drink was delicious. Will stop again when back in town!

Not only is the coffee drinks excellent (they use Noblehouse Coffee out of Ashland, OR), but their pastries are top notch. The cafe is a spacious place with lots of fun merch, games to play, and a nice spot to sit and work or chat with a friend. The service was great and they helped me make good choices on what to get. I couldn't resist trying one of their specialty drinks, the Maple Lavender latte with orange zest. When I went to sip this beautiful drink I also breathed in the fresh orange zest scent. This is one of the best latte's I've ever had. The flavors go together so beautifully and I wish I could have this every day. For pastries, I tried their cheddar scallion scone and their apple turnover. The cheddar scone was like no other scone over had. It was so light, cheesy and fluffy. The apple pastry was also amazing. I highly recommend stopping here if you pass through Crescent City. I would move here just so I could come to this coffee shop every day.

Update on my review I was contacted this morning by a…read moregentleman named Joel and this is what he wrote: Hi Dea, this is Joel from SeaFront Baking Company. Thank you for your feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed our decor and presentation. I apologize for the experience with the hot chocolate and avocado toast. I refunded the toast. Your comments are invaluable for our improvement. We appreciate your input and hope to serve you better in the future. I wasn't expecting that at all! So I'm very impressed that they received my constructive criticism in a positive way, and then to refund me for part of my order was very generous. I stated before I would like to give them another chance and now for sure I will! This was my first time here at SeaFront bakery. I heard this place has been here for about 2 years. I was really hoping this place would be good. It's a nice looking establishment especially inside. I'll start with what I liked: It's a good looking place with plenty of seating, very nice setting and has a gift area available, with so many delightful goodies, mugs, stickers clothing etc. it's spacious inside with lots of seating and a very cute area to sit by a wood stove. I really liked the decor. But I was disappointed with the food the hidden fees and the service. I ordered from my table on the QR code I ordered the avocado toast and a small hot chocolate (if you want whipped cream it's $.50 extra) I would have preferred to have gone up and ordered but it was pretty busy so I decided to try the QR code. There is no option to not tip, but there are 3 options to tip. Here's the thing, the servers don't come to the table to take your order and they don't bring you your food, you either order at the counter or on the QR code, and you pick up your order when they call your name. The area I was seated at, you couldn't hear them call the names for the orders, so I had to go and stand by the counter, so that I didn't miss my order. I guess I should have just ordered at the counter, I'm not exactly sure what the QR code did to save any time or allow me to remain at the table. I received my hot chocolate first, I was looking forward to trying it. I took a couple sips and could hardly taste the chocolate. I took it back up to the counter and waited politely until I could get the girls attention and asked if she could please add more chocolate. I explained that I could barely taste the chocolate, in my hot chocolate. The girl that I asked said, "yeah I guess so"? she wasn't too accommodating. After dealing with the hot chocolate issue it still didn't taste any better, I used to be a barista I know good hot chocolate and this hot chocolate was not good. My name was called a second time, I got my avocado toast. It was covered in cooked cherry tomatoes with balsamic vinegar, avocado, 1 egg over medium. The presentation was beautiful, but I ordered avocado "toast" the bread was not toasted or barely was and with all of the mushy textures and the bread not toasted it was a mushy mess! I just didn't care for it, too many mushy textures and no toast to break up the moisture. The textures are what got me. Darn it! I was disappointed with the food and hot chocolate (that cost extra for whipped cream) Hot chocolate and whipped cream go together in my opinion, and shouldn't be charged for it! And I don't appreciate being forced to tip! Please don't get me wrong, I've worked in the food industry most of my life, so I understand about tipping! Not sure if I will be going back there, however, If I do, I will not order from the QR code, I will not order the avocado toast, and I will definitely not the hot chocolate. Here is the breakdown of my cost: Avocado toast (there was no toast, bread yeah, ok) with garlic aïoli, blistered cherry tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, fresh basil, Sunnyside egg (it was not Sunny-side, it was over medium) $12 1-12oz hot chocolate (no whip that cost extra) $5 Tip $2.07 CA Tax $1.42 TOTAL: $20.74
