Fantastic coffeehouse! Great lattes and breakfast items. Friendly, warm and comfortable atmosphere. Featuring local artists, I was instantly curious to the walls of art. This place got it right

I have been to Java Haute a few times now. I should go more often, really. The seasonal flavors are interesting and I have decided I enjoy going here when I want coffee as a dessert or snack. By that I mean, yes the drinks are sweet and milky, but sometimes that's what I am going for. I'm not sure this is where I would to for my daily black coffee, but it's definitely where I will go for treat coffee.

Such a great spot for breakfast! There were a lot of people catching up with friends and/or working on their laptops. This is the first coffee shop I have seen with booths, I think. My friend and I ordered some drinks and pastries to go. The vanilla chai tea latte was so good. Sometimes they fall flat depending where you get it but it was one of the better ones I've had. Additionally, I ordered the homemade pop tart which was really good. Kind of wish it had more filling in it but it was great nonetheless. We also ordered a big homemade granola bar and those things are MASSIVE. The staff was very friendly as well, which is always a plus.

I was craving a blended coffee and was so happy when I realized Java had them! I got a blended coffee with white mocha. It was so so good. It actually tasted like coffee unlike a lot of places. The homemade whip was also great!

Hands down my FAVORITE coffee shop in Terre Haute. Five stars for everything - location, atmosphere, coffee flavors, food offerings, decor, EVERYTHING! My go-to brewed coffee and 100% all-time favorite coffee flavor, EVER: Highlander Grogg. This is not to be confused with their Highlander Grogg latte, which is also delicious, but a little too sweet for my liking. I get my brewed coffee with a pump [or three] of pumpkin pie flavoring [yes, year round, don't judge] and I'm in autumn heaven! Pair that with the Asiago cheese bagel with cream cheese and I'm a happy camper. Their chicken salad, quinoa salad, scones, muffins, bagels, you name it - it's delicious!

Java Haute is the perfect place for a casual meeting, catch up with a friend / colleague, or just a place to come and sit to get some work done. The place can be pretty busy with local college students to getting a seat could be problematic at some points during the day and evening. However there's usually always a spot open somewhere that you can sit! My favorites are the iced or hot tea and smoothies. Staff is very nice as well. Best chocolate chip cookies too!

I don't normally leave reviews but we had an awesome experience with a great smoothie and hylander coffee with coconut milk. The Olaf on the lid made my daughters day!!!

I am only in Terre Haute for a limited time and when asking locals about a coffee shop recommendation, Java Haute was at the top of their list. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience here! The inside of the shop is surprisingly large with a lot of seating. I ordered my vanilla latte and the lady behind the counter was so upbeat and pleasant and told me that she would bring it out to me when it was ready. About 2-3 minutes later, she let it down next to me with the cutest little note. I'm sure they do this for everyone, but regardless it was a pleasant surprise and made me smile. The latte was delicious! I stayed and studied for a while and was very grateful that the background music was not too loud and distracting and most people kept their conversations to a reasonable volume. If I am in Terre Haute for an extended period of time again, I will definitely be back!

A spot like this would not survive in the cool metropolitan cities around the globe I have called home, but for "the Haute", I think this spot is spot on and great. Always attempting to avoid the large corporate coffee giants out there on the planet when I can (they don't need my money), my dad mentioned that there was a coffee spot on South 7th Street he has driven by a million times. He thought it was something I would enjoy checking out, for he knows how I feel about the corporate coffee giants and knows I like the lingering aspect of a great coffee house. Super cute space, lovely welcoming warm decor, in hues of eggshell blue I think, nice female baristas working the counter and the drive-thru, superbly clean bathroom and a seating area almost like a well appointed country kitchen/living space. High top tables with sturdy high chairs (my aging parents are happy to see and sit in these). Puzzles, magazines and room to work or simply chat, as my parents and I are doing this day. Coffees, frozen drinks, lemonades, some baked items....they have it all. Being just a coffee drinker, their coffee at 1pm this day was fresh, hot and decent (not decent like Cafe DuMond in the French Quarter of NOLA or anything, but this is Terre Haute and I find this afternoon joe offering respectable). Laughed at the humor of the company dog about the premises, but make note, no pets allowed. The owners dog allowed, but yours is not. LOL! All good by me, but humorous. I will return and happily give this spot a "Terre Haute 5 on Yelp," which is not a "Las Vegas 5 on Yelp," but a great coffee spot regardless.

Don't let my 2 discourage you from stopping by, I mean that! Life is about managing expectations. For purposes of looking at this old church, the beautiful stained glass and the organ, absolutely pop in to take in the beauty of this old building. Just know what this place is and know what it is not. I stopped by during "library hours" from 10AM-4PM with to check this place out, read my book and grab coffee. During this time, the coffee is self serve, in urns, probably sitting there for some time, not hot and pretty bad. Powdered creamer is available. I made a donation of $2, got my bad coffee and sat in the open, quiet space of the Meeting Grounds for about an hour reading my book. So despite being dissatisfied with the coffee, my mission was accomplished. When I was there, there were three older men who were having a Bible study discussion and there were two guys who must live in the area who stopped in to grab coffee and then promptly left. I felt comfortable being there, taking some photos, minding my business, doing my thing, despite the kind of odd surroundings. The room is big and this would be a perfect little spot for a group to meet or book club to gather. They have snacks and other simple coffee drinks, but those are available for sale during the non-library hours I believe. The Meeting Grounds itself is open to the public from 8AM-8PM, according to the sign at the door. The church itself seems part hippie revival/part lazily renovated/part historically cool. It is an interesting old space.

Coffee Cup has one of the best breakfasts in town (see my reviews for the other one I love)- and it's affordable, filling, and most of all delicious. We always worry our son is eating right in college, but those fears are assuaged when we take him here. Love this place- if you have a kid at ISU or RHIT- it's a winner. When we left she said it was the nastiest spaghetti she's ever had. I asked twice for a water that never came also during my visit. All in all, I'd NEVER return. My issue was treated like I was looking for a discount and couldn't just be a conversation about how gross the food was. What terrible customer service.
