Delicious build-your-own burritos/tacos/bowls with fresh ingredients. As another reviewer said, "like Chipotle, but better"! Plenty of vegetarian options and a catch of the day that they will cook up for you on request. My spouse raved about the peach salsa. Breakfast burritos looked good too. They were fast and efficient AND have mastered burritos + coffee and espresso drinks - good ones. I had the honey lavender latte and was not mad. I hate a flavored latte that drowns out the coffee. This did not. Quite a few locals eating here too, which is always a good sign! Highly recommend this spot for breakfast or lunch during a Hilton Head stay. read more

I had tried their Savannah outlet, but this is apparently the original Java Burrito. It has ample outdoor seating in a verdant shopping center and an assembly line style ordering. I kind of wished I'd just ordered online as it was a bit busy in that line when I arrived. This place offers a good variety of customization, and while some of their cheeses looked appealing, I went vegan and still ended up with three tacos that were bordering on overflowing for a quite reasonable price. This is one of those places where the veggie option is all the vegetables/rice/beans plus free guacamole, all for a relatively lower price, which I am fine with. Things were pretty well separated out, and this is likely to be one of the few good options in the area for people with particular special dietary needs. The outdoor seating was being colonized by some stinging caterpillars that are apparently a seasonal hazard in the area, so watch out for that. read more

Really great find in Hilton Head! Burritos, Tacos, bowls, salads, and a coffee bar! Not a combo I would think of, but one I am now obsessed with. Food was delicious and the staff was patient with us since we needed a few minutes figuring out our order as it was our first time. A must-stop when in HHI for an easy and delicious meal. Usually come for lunch at least once per trip for a quick burrito bowl and sometimes a coffee. Service was good and food was great as usual. Was slightly disappointed this time around as the food prep skimped a little on the rice and then overloaded me with guac ... would have preferred it the other way around, but it didn't ruin my meal or experience. Good food, we were vacationing in Hilton Head and didn't feel like dealing with a sit down restaurant. Burrito bowls sounded like the perfect dinner. This is a great business concept to have make your own breakfast burritos (tacos, bowls, etc). It's like a Chipotle for breakfast (but also open for lunch and dinner). Staff did not seem very friendly and it felt they were slightly annoyed at us (it was a first time, so maybe that was obvious as we were trying to figure it out). Price was fair for a create your own. Would go again and put less in our burrito next time, but it was tasty! Would definitely try other things as well. Imagine chipotle on steroids! Queso was most amazing. Pineapple, mango salsa was best I ever had. Eggs as a protein option was really fantastic. Wife loved the potatoes on her bowl. Came here today for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. I got 3 soft shell tacos with eggs and eggs. The Steak was great and not chewy at all. The eggs were nice and fluffy and everything was seasoned well. The peach salsa was the absolute best and paired perfectly with the savory steak. I also got a Honey Lavender Latte and it was delicious. Will definitely be coming back at least once on my trip and can't recommend it enough. read more

Since our normal place for breakfast on the island close last year, I was looking for somewhere different to eat and this was highly recommend it. We came in and immediately could smell delicious coffee and it was. It's a little hard to tell exactly how you're supposed to order, but want to place orders of food came fairly quickly, even though they forgot our side order of bacon. Kid got the French toast, which was very tasty. I got avocado toast, which was very generous in avocado and toppings. My husband got the breakfast sandwich and was left a little underwhelmed as it was mostly egg and there was not enough cheese, or anything else to really provide dimension to the sandwich. So what is Java burrito? Imagine if you had a chipotle that serve beer and wine and also breakfast but not just breakfast tacos for more options and some bakery things that's sort of what you have a burrito is. Wow. This is basically Chipotle but with eggs and coffee bar. And until now I didn't know I needed this in my life. But I do; I want my Mexican bowls to include eggs...and peaches...and sweet potato fries...and be eaten at 9am. I got the egg and chicken bowl. The hot sauce was great but be sure to ask for two scoops because they were a little stingy, probably fearful people might think it's too hot. Definitely ask for some sweet potatoes too. And definitely say yes to the peaches. Also, the queso is included and yes you want the queso. It's great. Unless you get the "special" instead of a protein as the "special" is chicken + steak in a queso-esque sauce. My wife had it, it lived up to the billing. We were.in Hilton Head for three breakfasts. Java is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. The interior was clean and nicely decorated. To order, you tell whether you want a salad, burrito, bowl, etc, plus what protein you want. Including egg as a protein option which is nice for a vegetarian. Then you go down the line telling them the toppings you want. We all loved our food! What a great place! I was a little suspicious because who would make a coffee/burrito store...but let me tell you it works! There are two different counters, one for burritos/bowls/tacos, and another for coffee drinks. My husband and I stumbled upon here to grab an afternoon coffee, and we ended up coming back later that evening for dinner, and grabbing breakfast burritos on our way out of town later in the week. The food was fresh, delicious, and employees were friendly and efficient. I will tell you there was a line for dinner & for breakfast on Saturday, but it moves pretty quickly. It also seems like this is a common issue on the entire island....so just something to be aware of! Next time I am in Hilton Head I will definitely be coming back to Java Burrito! read more
