(Disclaimer we've only come to this southern style restaurant) BUT... let me tell you it was Delicious with a capital D! My love had the fried catfish and shrimp - catfish, corn and green beans. The catfish was melt in your mouth good. Fried to perfection and the batter was som-nice, lem'me telllya! She let me steal a piece is why I'm telling you! Shrimp was good as well but not as good as the catfish. Fries to be honest were meh, hence the 4 stars and corn according to my wife was not the side to order unless you like corn that don't taste good. Then it's the one you e been waiting for. Green beans were to her liking - flavorful and at least mentally a healthy choice. I mean you don't get much at a Southern-cooked joint that's healthy... am I right ‍ or am I right . I got the meatloaf, mashed-tators, and sweet baby corn. Maaaaaan the meatloaf was a junking piece of meatloaf with some good seasoning and know that it comes SMOTHERED in their tomato sauce which had a hearty cut of vegetables and good flavor. I like ketchup and Tabasco on just about everything but if you like it that way it will fill your belly and put a smile on your face. OH BUT WERE NOT DONE! The baby corn was sweet, delicious and perfectly cooked to soft but not to mushy perfection. The mashed-tators was REAL MASHED-TATORS. Skin in them with potatoe chunks just like they were made at home and the gravy was on point! COME AND EAT HERE!!! I guarantee you will come back to try something else... we are

Now back to my order, I got the beef fajita with two eggs over, medium and hashbrowns. The beef had a strange taste to it. On my way out, the manager asked me how I enjoyed my meal. She saw that I hadn't eaten much of the beef fajitas. I explained to her that the beef had a strange taste, and she offered to remove it from my bill, which I declined. I enjoyed the Customer Service, which was excellent. I was promptly greeted upon entry into the building. So I give them an A+ for CUSTOMER SERVICE. Their salsa was excellent. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the beef fajitas as I believe they were about to spoil when it was cooked leading to the foul taste I experienced. GN3

Something that stops me from coming are the prices....now I know nowadays things are expensive...but man, I personally think some of these prices are outrageous. I took my family of 3, and paid 55$, that's without the tip. I know its debatable, but I would come back a lot more often if it was cheaper! The place itself was very clean and well organized. I had a crawfish po-boy sandwich and it was amazing! Just the right amount of fried crawfish, and the bread was perfect! There is no indoor seating, so you can either eat outside at one of the tables, or get your food to-go. Either way, if you love Cajun food, this is the place! I would argue that this restaurant could easily compete in a much larger market like Houston - the food here was certainly as good or better than any I've had in Houston - better even than some I've had in Louisiana! If you're anywhere in the Woodville area - from Lufkin to Livingston - and want good Cajun food, get to Vinny's!

We kind of just split the two orders between ourselves to enjoy everything. The food was hot and had a good flavor. I would also say that the price for the food is reasonable. We paid around $35 for the basket, ettoufe and I did get a fountain drink. Unfortunately the good stops there. When we came to dine inside of Fish Tales we were told to seat ourselves and we could not find one clean table. There was only one other table currently eating. Also to mention there were three waitresses standing at the counter, talking and laughing. We finally chose the cleanest table we could find. After we ordered and the food came to us we had to ask for everything, ketchup, tartar sauce ect. and we had to refill our own drinks so I am going to say that the drinks were self serve. Also, when we informed the waitress that every table was dirty she and the other waitresses did not clean the tables. While we were eating we saw three other families come in and sit at the dirty tables. I would recommend Fish Tales for take out only due to the restaurant dinning area not being clean and the waitresses are not attentive. The food is good so I will give them then.
