The offer the likes of facial therapy, body treatments, tanning, waxing, eye treatments, treatments for hands and feet as well as nail treatments. The prices are competitive and there are always plenty of special offers on to make it even better value for money. My sister said this was a really nice salon with friendly and knowledgable staff, she said it was just a little bit too much out of the centre of town for her liking.

As far as I'm concerned, being a girl requires anough maintenance already, make-up, hair, clothes- keeping a tan in a climate like the Irish one just seems way too much like hard work to me. I popped in to Get the Glow recently, just at the Grand Parade Junction on the Castlereagh Road. I usually pass this place daily on my way to the local shop and there is a constant flow of women milling in and out of the place. I was shown round by one of the girls who worked there, they won't win any prizes for customer service, but they're not rude either. Get the Glow basically does what it says on the tin, they provide a sunbed tanning service which works out at 60p a minute. There are always special offers on, just give them a call if you need more info. One of the advantages of this particular tanning saloon, I am reliably informed, is that you can relax with a nice can of coke or other such beverage on the sunbeds! They also provide the latest in home gym technology, with some vibro plate excercise machines in the back. Basically you stand on this machine and it vibrates, leaving you toned and honed. The vibro plates cost £20 per month to use. It also means that when you're standing at reception, you can hear some local ladies having chats as their voices shake and wobble like baaing sheep!

I started to use this salon when my lovely husband gave me a gift voucher for Christmas and once the voucher ran out I liked it so much I began forking out actual cash. My favourite treatment is the fake tan application. Unlike most salons which use cold spray tan machines, the Clarins girls, who are all really friendly, use a tan which has to be rubbed in. The good news is that they do so carefully and slowly so you actually feel like you're getting a massage in the process. The other benefit of this kind of tan is that you get a really natural colour and no-one will use the 'hilarious' line 'Have you been tangoed?' Something else I noticed is that these therapists are super professional, asking all about allergies and reactions and giving clear instructions about how to look after your skin after a treatment. Despite the spa's location in the upmarket House of Fraser, prices are competitive, for example £8 for an eyebrow wax and so it's pretty busy. If I had to talk about a drawback to the spa's location, I would mention the one and only time I have had a pedicure and toenail polish there. Not being forward thinking enough to bring along a pair of flip flops or sandals for going home in , I had to walk through the store to the car park in my smart work clothes and a pair of paper flip flops. Sooo not a good look sweetie, but a lesson learned!

The salon offers a simple walk in policy and apparently a 15 minute wait is pretty much the maximum that it ever takes. The selection is simple...there are 3 options competitively priced...cut, cut and blow-dry, cut colour and blow-dry. So no confusion there. After a minute of explaining what I wanted, I was asked to take a seat and then brought over to the main cutting area. It's a long, bright room done out with gilt wallpaper which was a bit disconcerting at first. The hairdresser was attentive and cut the hair as requested, even going a bit shorter at the back when I asked. They didn't have a price for this particular cut as it's a mostly female clientele but as it only took a few minutes they only charged me £6. As reasonable as any barber I've been to. Pros: No booking necessary. Friendly staff. Cons: Mainly for female customers.
