I literally stumbled upon this place years ago. I am mystified that I posted a tip in 2018 but…read moredidn't write a review. Better late then never, I guess. Located on a side street in a weird position on the other side of a gas station, they may be hard to find if you don't know what to look for. Nonetheless, this is my go to spot especially last minute, the late hours are clutch when I leave the "brows" last on the list of "self care" for that day. I really only go to one person and that is Selma. Once or twice I have tried 1/2 of the other ladies and I have no complaints but I like what and who I like. So I only go to her. If there others a head of me, I wait and if I get her days off mixed up, I will come back when she is there. The shop itself is not much to look @ aesthetically and doesn't provide any spa-like vibes. It is a large open space with a long bench in the center to sit with a small bench in the front window as well. Each wall (right and left) has counter-height cabinets and mirrors that run the length of each side. There is a bathroom @ the back and a little area for more intimate hair removal services. It can use some updating and @ times better up keep, but I only go for one service: Eyebrow Threading and that is what I stick with. They do offer other services like waxing, tinting, and henna. At times there is an independent hair stylist in the back. It's a conveniently located shabby-chic hood-spot that serves one simple purpose for me and serves that purpose well. Just A Note: There is a enough room right in front of the door for 1 sometime 2 vehicles to pull up on the sidewalk and park.

Went to Jasmines on a Friday night and business was booming. The wait was minimal about five…read moreminutes before my daughter could get her brows done to perfection. She loved the way they looked and discomfort was minimal or none at best. We got Henna tattoos for the holidays and having henna done before in Manhattan I was amazed at the price. Thirty dollars for both hands on the top was literally 1/2 the price I've paid in the past and the henna process was much shorter. They use their own blend of henna and drying agents at once, so you can forego the traditional sugar water step to dry the henna. After your design is done, all you have to do is wait about 20 minutes for them to dry before you leave the store. I'd say in about three hours or so, the Henna dries and you can remove it and return to life as normal. They have Henna in black and brown and can also do both colors at once. While I did the traditional brown, I must say the black was AMAZING!! Henna tip: When you get home, lightly rub Ben-Gay on top of the henna when it is drying. The heat sets it in darker. Also, a blow dryer will help dry and set it. When you first remove the henna the design looks a bit light. Be prepared because the following morning, the color sets and it looks much darker. In short- Jasmines is a great place for eyebrows and henna. The service was very nice as the people who own the shop. They do lashes as well. I'll try that next time.

She tells me to sit and it took forever. I told her I did t have much time I'm on my lunch break. The experienced woman came to me and finally finished. They tried to tell me I had lots of FACIAL hair and needed more work then my lip and v Chin but I would have been there all day! Lol. Seriously, they should have asked if I wanted to be a student to the woman learning. I would have politely said no, thank you. I heard they are good from where i work but I wasn't happy. Especially with them discussing me in another language the whole time.

Maybe the bad reviews are from older management but I've been going for years and they always do me…read moreright ! I can't say much about other services they do but they're always nice to me and clean my brows so nicely :) A clean environment and they're quick with it too I did mine right before going to work and I still managed to get on my train early even hehe Overall can't go wrong with them, maybe I just keep getting lucky but they never fail to do my brows justice My brows in these pictures are all from this place :3

The second time I went, a different lady did my eyebrows. While she was doing them, I kept flinching and moving because, you know, it's a natural response. She said in a passive-aggressive tone, "Can you relax, please?" but okay, whatever. When she finished and I was paying, I was looking at my eyebrows, and she said, "Oh, you should wax your upper lip." I was taken aback and kind of offended because I don't really have hair there like that. I said no. Honestly, I blame myself a little here because I could've just stuck with no, but I ended up saying yes. I asked her twice if $10 would cover it, and she said yes, so I agreed. When she finished, she walked away, so I left because I had already paid. As I was about to cross the street, she came running out of the store, stopped me, and said it was $13. I asked why she told me $10 would cover it, and she just repeated that it was $13. I probably should've just kept walking, but I tried to be nice and respectful, so I kept talking to her. I told her I only had an extra dollar and gave it to her. Then she asked if I could pay her another way, like come back and pay the rest. I felt like I was being taken advantage of because I'm young. I'm not going back to pay her because she lied about the price. If an adult had been with me, I honestly don't think she would've done that.
