They will tell you the dishes are prepared on the mild side. We found this to be very very true, so order as appropriate for your palette. Unlike many thai restaurants that have warm spicy to FIRE!!, the dishes are supper mild no matter how many stars are on it. Now trust me everything is tasty, so don't automatically grab the Saracha. Apparently they close for a few hours between lunch and dinner. I showed up and the lady was kinda rude, saying they weren't doing dine in and take out only. So I went to place my to go order, and sat down. Then she serves me a drink and my food to dine in. Food was good but I just felt rushed to eat the entire time. As I left I saw a sigh with the hours and i was there 30mis before they closed, and even after sitting and eating was still leaving 15mis before closing lol. Super rude man. My friend asked for a recommendation between two dishes and he said and I quote "why don't you ask your friends they know you better why would you ask a stranger" and she said because you work here and he said "that doesn't make any difference you just need to make up your mind" we should've gotten up and left but we felt too awkward. We were the only people in the restaurant. He also sat at a desk in the restaurant and there was no music.! My nice friend still tipped 20% because she is TOO NICE! The food was also not good. I'm new to Bastrop place and excited to eat in Thai restaurant. It's so happened that this place is close to where I stayed. I went today and ordered lemongrass chicken and mixed vegetables. I'm always fond of eating Thai food. I was so disappointed and frustrated for the food that was served bc not even a hint of lemongrass was added to the chicken. It tasted like they put a lot of sweet chile sauce to the chicken. Also, the side veggies they just only steam it. The mixed vegetables that I ordered, it does not taste like an authentic Thai food. This place is a misrepresentation what should be called a Caucasian food. not Thai. I was ripped off, I paid 30 plus. Out of respect, I only give a dollar for tip but I should not to. read more

Mom and pop - husband and wife restaurant. The food ingredients were fresh! I wish the menu had chicken satay and the curry had more spices. The portion was gigantic. The spring rolls tasted hand made - unfortunately the place had clutter and the service was non existent once we sat down. The husband is the server and although he was kind I believe he was hard of hearing and I was left all dinner without water to eat with or a refill on my Thai ice tea. The Thai ice tea was very good. I think I would come back but not for dine in service - only for to go food. The service and ambiance just isn't what I wanted. The prices are right. I was disappointed in our take out last night. Hubby ordered the Massaman curry with chicken and I had the spicy peanut noodles with tofu. We also ordered the Stingray appetizer as it sounded delicious. Basically the protein in these dishes was almost nonexistent and the lack of attention to detail was evident in the mass amount of whole baby carrots in everything. The stingray is touted to have white tuna and jalapeño in a fried won ton. Neither of these were evident just a fried wonton skin. Also, zero Thai flavors. Weird. I was hoping for much better since Bastrop has little in the way of good Asian food. Hoping it was just an off night. read more

Went to this cute little Thai place for the first time today. It was clean and cute inside! I had the grilled combo which was two grilled chicken breasts, one lemon grass and the other honey lime. It came with steamed broccoli and white rice. Chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauces were delicious! I also had an ice green tea which I didn't realize was a milk tea with whipped cream, but I really enjoyed it! If you love green tea, you will enjoy it. It was like a light dessert. My buddy and I came down here for a conference we were doing video production on. We saw this place on yelp and had to give it a try, after seeing all the great reviews. We are from Dallas and go to a lot of Asian restaurants and we both agree that this is better than any of the Asian places we have go to in Dallas! It would have been better with less egg and more veggies. Presentation was awesome! My dad had the lemon grass chicken-very juicy, perfect portion, nice side pairing (green beans and rice) My mom had the Tom yum with chicken soup, big portion, not as spicy as expected. Semi sweet with coconut base. Recommended by chef jasmine herself. Everything was great, the presentation was beautiful, the entree portions were big for lunch, we were very pleased and will be back. Service is dogshit everyone in the place had an empty glass with just a man on his computer the whole time. Food is subpar at best. Was craving Thai food so thought I'd give this place a try. I started with the vegetable spring rolls, they were served piping hot with a side of dipping sauce, very crispy and lots of flavor. I really liked the lemon grass chili dipping sauce, just a little heat and delicious. My BF had the pork egg rolls, he said they were full of flavor, also served very hot, with a side of spicy plum sauce. For my main entree I had the Pad Thai with tofu, it was very fresh and a healthy serving, had plenty to bring home for lunch the next day. My BF has the combination fried rice-all cooked to order, veggies were fresh and again, plenty of left overs for lunch. Restaurant very very clean and comfortable. Love Love Love this place !!!!! Wasn't expecting anything out of ordinary (You know, Bastrop) but this place blows my mind. We wasn't sure with the look of the restaurant but we still give it a try, and we were glad we did. My father-in-law had a THAI ICE TEA, which was really good. Then we had 2 VEGGIE SPRING ROLLS, it was eh... but when we got the #3 GRAND GREEN CURRY & #11 JASMINE's PAD THAI DELIGHT, omg it was amazing. All of the flavors were on point and the presentation looks great. I'm a regular at Thai Cuisine Restaurants and a Asian Mom, so I can be pretty picky when it comes to food. I've got to add what the hubby and I tried via take-out this evening. He got the chicken and shrimp Pad Thai "extra spicy" and it had the right amount of heat for him. I got the Phanang Curry with chicken and lived up to the menu's description of salty, sweet, nutty, and moderately spicy. As far as portion, there was a good amount of chicken, potatoes, and carrots. Also a big serving of rice. Those wings though! We love Titaya's wings and their dipping sauce. The wings themselves were large wings (see the picture of the wing compared to the rice from another Yelper) and could stand on their own without sauce. We opted for the Thai Fire and Sweet Chili dipping sauce. I loved the burn of the Thai Fire at the end of the bite. The husband preferred the not quick as spicy Sweet Chili. My husband and I checked it out Jasmine's Thai Cafe last night and it was delicious. It is a very welcome addition to Bastrop where food options are not very diverse. We ordered the Thai iced tea and Thai iced coffee for drinks. Both were good. The coffee was a bit sweet for me. The tea had good flavor and cream on top. My son heartily approved! For appetizers we tried the egg rolls and chicken wings. Both were excellent. The pork egg rolls came as a set of three and the were very large. My husband said the chicken wings are the best ones he's ever had at a restaurant. The skin was nice and crispy. We ordered chicken pad thai and the shrimp red curry (I can't remember the name). They were also very tasty. Make sure to eat the pad thai with all the toppings provided or else it's a little bland. The dish was very generous with the meat. I ordered take out. The gentlemen on the phone couldn't tell me what was in the dishes. The menu online is a bad photo of the menu. When I went into the restaurant it has 0 ambiance. The food, however, was just serviceable, and not memorable. The spring rolls (fried) had a mushy filling with a strange and somewhat unappealing flavor. The orange chicken seemed freshly cooked, but didn't have nearly enough of a robust orange glaze that we expected and is the hallmark of this dish. The most disappointing was the chicken pad tai, in which the chicken appeared to have been precooked and tossed in after having set long enough to be dry and tough. Thai food is a favorite, and we have eaten at hundreds of Thai restaurants, so we are well qualified to make comparisons. While I admire the effort made here, perhaps some things need re-thinking. read more

Small unadorned restaurant 1 block off Main drag. The food was tasty. The coconut shrimp weren't crispy. Asked for some chili sauce and a woman brought some Thai peppers that were intensely strong. The elderly man greeted us with a mask on as did the lady who brought out and probably cooked the food. The biggest problem was getting a menu. Some people took cell phone shots of a hard menu. Asked for a container since the portions were large and even though full still kept eating while the container came. I have lived and been to Thailand. When I saw that owners of store are from Bangkok, my hopes were up for authentic Thai food. Instead when I asked them to make their green curry level 5 spicy, it came out level 1 spicy with red chili on the side. The beef was tough to chew. Waitress did not refill water and she was in back most of time. I couldn't understand her as she wore mask to cover most of face. The old man just sits at his table reading news. This is a family-owned place that has great food and takes pride in their product. Went in on Saturday for lunch and the place was empty because it's apparently new at the time of this writing so I figured I would give them a plug to help their business since they deserve it. I ordered the Penang curry which was great and the presentation was very nice. The plate had a nicely molded cylinder of rice with a nice touch of bell pepper and carrot slices to make a flower-like motif on the top. Needless to say, I cleaned my plate. The owner Larry was pleasant to speak with and explained to me that the money "drinking tea" is actually a monkey drinking fruit punch because that's something he saw during his time living in Thailand. Conclusion: I recommend it go in and have some of the best authentic Thai food you will find in Bastrop. read more

The nice Thai lady who obviously is the cook offered to increase the spice level but I decided it had such a good flavor that I was happy with the more subtle spice level.
