When I first met her, I went to her salon because the last person who colored my hair over processed it and it was so dead. She helped salvage my hair for the wedding with a specific treatment schedule and boy am I grateful. The day of the wedding, I loved my whole look. Gabby crushed my makeup and I got compliments all night about it and how natural it looked. Mack is honest and does offer feedback to people, and I appreciate this about her. Well i am pleased to say that i have found my new loc maintenance home. The experience was pleasant! The owner was there when i arrived a bit early for my appt, she spoke with me about my concerns and expectations before introducing me to my stylist, Flower. This young lady did an excellent job, she listened to what little direction i gave during my shampoo as well as the start of my palm rolling...she did not give any attitude when i asked her to scrub a bit harder on my shampoo or when i requested she roll my locs a bit tighter. I was more than satisfied with the end result. I look forward to being here for all my hair care needs. I watched the other young ladies work as well, and they all did a good job on their clients. I came here because it isn't a place you might expect "a person like me to visit" and because I liked one of my barbers at beauty school so much that I decided to follow him to whatever shop he was at. They definitely specialize in working with women's hair and locks, but with the addition of Kornell, they certainly can accept male clients with comfortability. So, I knew I was going to get a quality cut. Something about this particular cut was one of my best. I think the following contributed to this: 1. I'm older and appreciate what's around me more. 2. I knew the salonist before. 3. The place was nice and inviting inside. 4. It was one of my best cuts ever I think. 5. I unintentionally fell asleep, but I didn't want to talk much since it's a pandemic and I have a mask on anyway. My salonist was still okay with it. Maybe also because I tend not to get fussy- I make for a great client for beauty schools cause I just like saving money to maintain my hair too. With the pandemic, the beauty schools were closed for awhile when I checked. So, I opted for regular salons. It helped that I had a few pictures for him to choose from before starting. I think it would be a cool feature if when I make the appointment in advance online, if I could attach pictures in a message along with doing the appointment in advance. That could potentially make it easier on the workers rather than having for me to scramble for pics on my phone and then letting them go through that. Which is okay too. If you arrive or can arrive earlier than your appointment last minute, it's best to call in advance to see if it would be helpful for them to have you come in earlier. I know this because I had a distance to go and couldn't predict when I could get there and park exactly. And then I had to use the bathroom and I almost still had to come back for my appointment, but my salonist saw me and said it would be better to take me in at that moment and I was fine with that. So, that's how I know, lol. Cause if they have another client running late, they might still try to accommodate that person even if they have to make that person wait since they were late to their own appointment. The prices for males seem standard for a professional place that offers quality haircuts. Even though they are further out from downtown, because the place inside is cozy and has a nice bathroom, they are able to fairly hold their own with the prices they offer. I could potentially see some people thinking that the prices are a bit high. Most of the reviews of this place are very positive, and I do get the sense they're reading these and that they try to improve from any mistakes from poor reviews that seem like they were fair and well intentioned.

Prior to booking I heard a great deal about Nicck's eye brow shaping and tinting services. A few…read morefriends had gone prior to me and were always satisfied. On the day of my service I arrived a few minutes early, as to not violate the well explained and reiterated late policy. When I arrived the door was locked to create a safe environment for each client during Covid. The receptionist walked to the door, asked if I had an appointment, and instructed me to wait while a previous client's services were completed AND the area was cleaned for my appointment. I was very impressed. Mostly because it was apparent from the appearance of the neat and well designed waiting area that pre covid guests were permitted to wait inside the salon. I was appreciative that Nicck and his staff thought to adjust their standard procedure beyond what was merely necessary to keep the space clean and safe. When I came in there was sanitizer waiting, which I was asked to use by the very pleasant receptionist, and I was instructed to meet Nicck at his chair. He was very polite and asked how I heard of him and when I last received a brow service. After I answered he went straight to business and began drawing lines on my face to properly shape my brows to my facial features. I appreciate that Nicck was not dismissive of my eye brows as they were, and actually complimented their natural shape. I have experienced some artists who engage with new clients in a way meant to shame them for not seeking their services sooner, instead of allowing their work to speak for them. I did not feel like he rushed, and I could see by the look on his face that he was taking great care with attention to my brow shape. It's also worth mentioning that the wax Nicck used did not hurt, smell bad, or leave my face sticky at all. During my service we did not talk much, but that did not offend me as I respect and appreciate the need to focus when working. When Nicck was done, he handed me the mirror and I was immediately impressed! Having received the shaping only (without tint) I was doubly impressed by how full Nicck was able to keep my brows. I love the outcome and have already booked my next appointment. Thank you! You made the 5 or 6 months I did not get my brows serviced during the pandemic worth it! I look forward to my October appointment and will be recommending Nicck to anyone who inquires!

To start, Diana was very accommodating to my unique situation (long distance planning). I was able to book hair and make-up without a trial which is *not* always the case with other artists. We had a very in-depth planning process including a shared Pinterest board and a final inspiration collage. Furthermore, she was very accommodating to our last minute changes in regards to services for the VIPs and location for our services. The artists (Jacqui and AnnaLisa) were timely and very very patient with us. My mother-in-law spoke very little English and AnnaLisa was very patient being sure she was comfortable and understood. Also, they were very receptive to our different ideas and pictures and made us all feel relaxed, special, and gorgeous. My time with Jacqui was the most relaxed I was during my entire wedding day. Also, Jacqui engineered the most gorgeous hairstyle I have ever seen! I showed her one inspiration picture and she was able to create it with my own natural hair with no extensions! By the end of our morning, we all felt like we made new friends with Jacqui and AnnaLisa! The level of care they have for their clients is unbelievable!
