I went for the first time and would not recommend it. The food was subpar, would recommend going elsewhere for authentic food. If you eat inside its sooo hot, uncomfortable and claustrophobic, I cant imagine the employees in the kitchen. Do they follow Heat Illness Prevention guidance my CA law, doubt it. Eating outside would be better, theres a breeze and flow of air even though its hot. Another worker also looked sick and was working, do they pay sick time i dont want someone sick handling my food. I came here for the second time yesterday with some friends. The staff were polite, kind and helpful. I asked whether certain dishes could be made without dairy and they were very accommodating. Wow this taqueria really took me to flavortown! Everything on the menu looked amazing, and I ended up getting the chicken fajita bowl - sooooo good. We were in the Oakdale area and felt like having Mexican food. My shrimp salad had very fresh vegetables and lots of shrimp. They were very generous with the chips and we loved the salsa bar!! I work near this little place and am so glad I found it! I've traveled to town on my time off so I can have a Michelada and they're delicious. I love crispy tacos! Lunch is usually 1 or 2 crispy pastor. The beans and rice are great! The salsa bar is always fresh cold and clean. The service is as quick as can be. The local spots in town cater to students during lunch so just keep that in mind. Kids are always respectful and kind when I've had them swam at lunchtime. The food can be tasty, but DO NOT GET FOOD TO GO! We have several times and our order has been wrong as often as right. Also, they do not cut a to go quesadilla and they are sopping wet and consequently very hard to eat! I won't get food to go again. They messed up my mom's quesadilla that was supposed to be shrimp and would up being carne aside with a little shrimp. It was so wet and the wrong meat that even with a fork and knife she wound up throwing most of it out. We had to come to Oakdale to have a special procedure for our pet. While he was being seen we stopped into this little hole in the wall place. There was a small line, but most people getting food to go. We stayed and enjoyed the restaurant. It was true home cooked food. Real quality food and service. Sooooo- decided to try this place after refusing to go previously. Walked in years ago and it was humid and sticky- this time, it's chilly- probably because the doors are open- but man is it hoppin' and poppin! They were very busy with a train of pickup/take-out orders. With that- we did wait a bit, but it didn't feel like an eternity. The food was good- and the asada was certainly better than the taco truck across the street. I wish the chips tasted fresher- but they weren't stale (as per other reviews). The horchata was prob the best I've had in a lonnnng time. It has an authentic vibe- nothing special. It's not immaculate- but it's a clean old building. Stopped by this place on our way home from our Yosemite camping trip. I ordered a mix of tacos so that I can taste all. The Pollo Adobado was my favorite, followed by the carnitas (a little fatty, but it had a good crisp and taste to it), then the Al Pastor. That one was probably my least favorite, however it was still good, and my bf really liked it. Staff was really friendly. It's a very casual spot, and I liked it had a small patio for us to sit. It was a hot day, and we had our dog with us, so that allowed us to bring him out of the car and sit with us.
