Very unimpressed with this facility and how they "operate"…read more The doctor is knowledgeable and it feels like he wants to be helpful. (I've been working with Dr Todd Jaramillo.) But communication with the front desk staff and the providers is ridiculous. I called everyday for three days straight after my appointment to remind them to send the referral for an MRI. You can't schedule an MRI without a referral or your insurance won't pay their portion. They continually told me "we'll get right on that." Or "we just sent it!" When they in fact, did not send it. Two weeks later, my MRI shows torn ligaments and physical therapy is needed. Same issues as before. I can't get staff to send a referral to the physical therapy office. So I called everyday, multiple times a day, and the office staff continue to give me the run around. Faxing a referral is pushing 12 buttons on a printer. It is more work for them to answer my phone calls and give me the run around. Kate and Will are the two up front with the excuses. Just do your job, or go home. I came in for help, instead I get to continue walking around on torn ankle ligaments waiting for Will and Kate to fax a referral.

Yet another medical provider that uses text harassment to try and force early bill payments…read more Bigfoot Podiatry has wonderful frontline staff who are delightful, and perhaps they think that all people actually want bill reminders via text, but I for one am overloaded with innumerable notifications and don't need yet another - just send me a paper bill that I can use to document my spending before the health insurance deductible kicks in. Since I never signed up for text bill notifications (ever), I drop all providers who automatically generate them.

I've had a chronically bad ankle for many years, with pain that gradually became constant and increasingly limiting. Eventually, I knew I had to do something. I met with Dr. Randy Garr, explained my symptoms, and shared my concerns about being on blood thinners. He listened carefully, reviewed my situation, and ordered an MRI to confirm his diagnosis. It was exactly right. Dr. Garr was straightforward and reassuring -- he clearly explained that he could help me and outlined the plan. We scheduled surgery, and after the recovery period, my life genuinely changed for the better -- way better. I'm now back to hiking a hilly, rocky trail regularly, completely pain-free. I can sleep through the night again without being aware of my ankle at all, which I honestly never thought I'd say. I understand that reviews of physicians sometimes reflect frustrations with insurance, billing, or administrative issues, which is fair. That said, my experience with Dr. Garr and his office staff was absolutely five-star across the board. Every interaction was professional, supportive, and reassuring. I felt confident that if any concern arose -- medical or paperwork-related -- they would do everything possible to resolve it. Two thumbs way up. I'm deeply grateful for the care I received and would recommend Dr. Garr without hesitation.

Splitting the difference between the service received and the problem with the prescription…read more 5 stars - Saw Dr. Devin Tranter for the first time. It was Friday, Nov 19 and my foot and ankle were in so much pain that I was willing to see someone other than my regular podiatrist (who wasn't available). Called the office to see Dr. Garr but it was his surgery day but the receptionist suggested Dr. Tranter. I was willing to see anyone at that point so I set the appointment for 3:45 PM. Went to see him and he was very thorough in checking out my foot and ankle. Great bedside manners. After x-rays and some poking around, he prescribed some steroids for me with the hope of getting the inflammation down to either resolve the problem or getting a better feel for what's happening. I was more than willing to go that route because the foot was so swollen, just about every spot he touched was painful. 1 star - Went to the pharmacy to fill the prescription and was told the dosage for that specific medication was wrong and that either the pharmacy could call and get the right information or I could call. I called the Provo number and unfortunately, business was closed and there was no answering service. Knowing that Summit Foot and Ankle Specialist has a main number, 801-784-1111, I called and was hopeful because the voice message said to get in touch with after hours staff, press 305. I did that and my heart sank when I was taken to another message that said no one was available and to leave a message. Left a message hoping someone would call back but no one did. So here I sit on Monday, Nov 21, foot still swollen and in pain with no resolution until the doctor's office opens at 9 AM.
