We came here a few Saturdays ago and had a solid experience here. We were able to get greeted by a sales associate with minimal wait time (about five minutes) which was nice. Time to find a new jeweler I was kind of skeptical at first after reading some of the reviews. I have always shopped at Jared's in Las Vegas & I was always happy with the quality. I walked through the doors and we were already greeted w/a smile "hello, we have 1 customer ahead of you but we will be with you shortly". Let's talk customer service. I was really dreading coming here. Though I have made purchases here in the past, I can pretty much paint a picture of what to expect when I come in. First, I will be approached by a salesman who will care less about what I want and have their own agenda or "script" that they are trying to get through. No real attention to what I am saying but rather a push to get a sale. Secondly, Of course the judging looks of not looking the "part", I am assuming, due to the condescending looks and the mannerism at which I am talked to. Let's talk about money. I had every intention of buying a very nice set of earrings and really didn't care about price. If I saw a set I liked and they fit what I was looking for, I was going to make the purchase. Due to the salesman, yes man, who kept talking price and pushing his agenda and not listening to me, I ended up identifying exactly what I wanted, took more time out of my day to drive 30 minutes to another store, and then buy them there. Mainly because they didn't have the item in stock at this store. But also because I would have rather not continued the conversation here. The experience in Cedar park was only slightly better. My fiancee and I visited earlier today to pick up our wedding bands. What should have been a joyful & memorable experience, we were met with a rude, incompetent employee that whose demeanor towards us was completely unacceptable. She was insistent that we couldn't pick up bands without the printed service ticket. The email clearly states that the service ticket OR the email and valid photo id is acceptable. We had the latter. We asked for someone else because we would not tolerate her talking down to us or cutting us off mid sentence. Apparently the store manager helped us next. We did not verify if he was indeed the manager. He was also short and showed very little signs of being empathetic to our recent experience with their incredibly rude and dense employee. He also could not locate our order and had us go back and forth. As I originally stated, it was under my name as the email clearly stated it was. No apology was received from either party. I'm very disappointed in Jared's customer service! If this is how you treat repeat customers we will gladly drive to another Jared's location or stop our business completely. This is very unfortunate. The last 3 times we've visited we haven't had that type of experience. But then again those specific employees weren't working the floor. read more

This place is trash! The wait time is incredibly long. For a mom with kids I dread dropping my jewelry for inspections and cleanings. The associates see me carrying my kids on my hip and never offer me a seat or inform me it may take 60 min for a drop off!!! Next day -pick up! I understand truly! If you're shopping for an engagement ring, you have to ask for Sarah. She's extremely knowledgeable, patient, and an all around nice person. She's the specialist in engagement rings here, and she helped my wife and I choose an engagement ring that was perfect for us. I initially balked at going to Jared because of its reputation as one of those cookie cutter jewelry stores. But I was really pleasantly surprised at the help we received, the price, and the selection of engagement rings. Speaking of which, why is it traditional for the man (or proposer) to choose an engagement ring without consulting the proposee? It makes no sense to choose jewelry for someone else which will be on their finger for the rest of their life. My wife and I picked my ring out together and couldn't be happier. I highly recommend paying a little extra for the extended service plan, especially if you choose white gold. White gold normally changes color over time as its rhodium plating wears off, exposing a more yellow tone underneath. With the service plan, you can get the jewelry cleaned and replated for free every six months (for forever), which makes it look like NEW. It restores the white color and completely removes any scratches. The scratch-free is my favorite part. And the fact that Jared is so ubiquitous means you can still get your jewelry maintained no matter where you are. Jared also ensures against loss of the diamond(s) if you maintain it like this every six months too. You can usually get the maintenance done same day or while you wait if you go at least two hours before closing. If you don't want to do this kind of maintenance on a ring, consider yellow gold or platinum instead, or you'll need to buy a much more expensive white gold instead. Other than Sarah, the servicepeople here have been hit or miss: sometimes extremely pleasant and helpful, and other times rude and unprofessional, and unable to correctly size my ring. read more

We had a really good experience here for a number of reasons. First, what girl could possibly be unhappy when husband says "load up" and ends up at a jewelry store? Not this girl. When we first got married, I had a lovely little tear drop diamond on a plain band. Then I was preggo. like immediately, and so my fat sausage fingers made that diamond look like a Polly Pocket tear. Don't get me wrong. I love that ring, it's beautiful and holds all the sentimental value imagined. But being the man-handed lady I am, I wanted something a little more visually appealing when we were financially able. So husband went in without telling me, got finances squared away, even perused the selection with his salesman (and forgive me, I'll update this when I get his name - husband still refers to him by name when we discuss the store at all) and had his sights set on one in particular. Then he brought me in and just let me loose. So, being brought to a store and told "just pick something" sounds like a dream, and some women would thrive on that. But for me, I get very overwhelmed and started losing focus and seemed unable to form an opinion. The salesman was very helpful and respectful. I set my eyes on an emerald cut diamond and he set it into each setting I thought I may like so I could see all different styles. Long story short, I ended up walking out with the exact ring my husband pointed out beforehand stating "It'll either be this one or something very similar". Good on ya, boy. Minus 1 star because we ate at Cheddar's afterwards. ... and actually because I would have liked a larger in-store variety - style wise - to choose from. But my ring is baller and when we upgrade the diamond in December (honey, did you get that?) We'll go right back to Jared's. They took a cursory look, said they would have to send it to their repair shop which would cost me $50 for shipping plus the cost of the repair. When my fiancé and I were looking for engagement rings we had been to a few different stores including Kay. All the other stores have already made band / ring combinations that you try on. Jared first takes you into a consult room to figure out what it is that your looking for: diamond cut, band, price, etc. They explained to us everything in detail about diamonds and each particular diamond or band that I tried on. First I picked the band I liked, then the diamond! So the band and diamonds are not already set, so you can pick every detail to your ring. We had a two and three year old and they worked with us so well! And they have a kids room!! Ladies were very personable! I had to get my ring resized and got it back within 2 hours! Horriable customer service!!!! I am huge on service due to my career being in the service industry. We upgraded my previous ring and received ok service at that time. One of my bands cracked in the center 3 months after purchase and went in to repair it. The service from the older gentleman that apparently has been there for years is discriminatory and just rude. I never received a call that my ring was ready, I had to call and check on it and the women on the phone rudely said it's been ready for a week. It would have been nice to receive a call that my ring was ready. We will not be purchasing any more jewelry from the company again. Overall service is un except able. I guess the startled and horrified look on my face gave him a hint that maybe this wasn't the right approach with us, because he finally said, "Okay...I'll leave you folks alone and let you look around" and moped away with his tail between his legs. Despite hating this store's commercials and disliking diamond jewelry stores in general, I need to give this place four stars. I needed to have my watchband replaced. I had the band, but it was one of those rubberized ones that are impossible to do by yourself without special tools, so I stopped in here because it was right across from the gym. I walked in through the heavily guarded double set of doors and was immediately accosted by a well-dressed woman talking a mile a minute who welcomed me and offered me beverages. "Uh, no, I just need to get my watchband replaced." She tried to hide her disappointment as she led me to the watch counter and let me be. A very nice man then proceeded to fix up my watch and chat and then I had a chance to check out the store. Their watch department is great. It has a good range of beautiful and functional watches. Next time I need a nice watch, I am definitely coming back. The rest of the store is mainly diamond jewelry, which, on general principles, isn't really my thing. I had thought that, based on that stupid radio jingle, Jared's was some mall-style jewelry chain store with ugly mass-produced garish or run-of-the-mill settings. Well, I was surprised. This was nice stuff. A lot of it was artful, modern and unique and very beautiful. The overly friendly lady sidled up to me and mentioned that all their jewelry was hand designed and made. Well, you could tell. This was nice stuff. Classy. Much nicer than their horrendous commercials would lead you to believe. The inside is quite opulent. I could see this being a nice destination place for people picking out wedding stuff or high quality jewelry. Although most of it was straight diamonds, they did have some other stones, which were also very nice. They did a good job with my watch, were extremely nice and didn't even charge me for putting on my watchband, which was awesome. Good place. Don't let the commercials keep you away. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Let me start off with saying that we brought in my engagement ring that was purchased from there to be repaired and to help us with the design of our custom wedding band. The sales guy Ricky helped us during this process and told us from start to finish it should be about 6 weeks. During this time we dealt with lack of communication, miscommunication, and total confusion by the team members and management that works there. The end result was that they were 4 weeks over the date I was told and they LOST MY ENGAGEMENT RING. "Safe Shipping" and a "personalized touch" does not exist in this place unless the personal touch is that the sales man Ricky stole my ring and took off. The store then barely compensates us for the trouble and emotional distress of this whole ordeal which was a complete slap in the face. I URGE you to be cautious of this location. read more

Darn! I hate reading the bad reviews for Jared. Yes, their commercials are cheesy, and unfortunately with huge corporations come some crappy employees. But, I hope people will at least visit the store. In this economy, jewelry is probably the last thing on people's minds. I often go into the store and just "play." Helping a friend look for an engagement ring we made an impromptu stop here last weekend. We should have walked the other way as soon as we saw the cheese ball smile from the sales guy. We told him exactly what we were looking for and he took us everywhere except our desired location. Before we could actually look at stuff the guy was shoving credit applications in our face and when my friend said he would most likely pay cash, the sales guy lost all interest in us. Don't go there for repairs! I took my watch for a battery and they broke the crown, but denied it! I had a life time battery replacement , but when I took it in they said the battery had been installed incorrectly (hmmm, they had done it) They are arrogant & don't care about quality service . Basically they told me "how do we know you didn't bring us a broken watch (crown)?" I should have taken a photo ahead of time. And they estimated $165 to repair their error.
