Janette helped me sell my condo. I got a good price for it, but she did not listen to me or advocate for me.
She did some staging work that she said was no additional cost and then tried to get me to pay her for it after the sale closed.
I asked her to check with the buyer to see if they wanted any of my furniture; she kept refusing to ask because "they were just going to rent it out" and she wanted to find someone else to give it to. 2 days before closing she finally asked. If they had said no, I would not have been able to get movers in time.
She harrassed me almost daily about how I should not donate unwanted items to Goodwill. I allowed her to take a few donations to appease her obsession, and she took a bookcase that I wanted to keep and put it in her own house. I haven't gotten it back and she won't pay to replace it. She also took a couple pieces of trash to the dumpster and then tried to get me to pay her for "cleaning and decluttering my condo and helping me move". Absolutely insane - I had to fight her every day to leave me alone and let me handle my move on my own, and then on top of that she wanted money for her harrassment.
She noticed an item missing from the closing statement before the sale closed but intentionally said nothing so I wouldn't have to pay a $500 credit. Later she told me I was in violation of the sale contract for not paying it. I asked a few times for instructions for where to send the money. 2.5 months after closing, she still hasn't answered.
Janette also helped me try to buy another condo at the same time. She snuck a 12-day loan contingency period into the contract without telling me. Unfortunately I didn't notice it.
She also did not do the due diligence work I asked for when I found out the condo had flooding in the past. The purchase fell through, but not before Janette pushed me to spend $500 on the appraisal. She said if I did not do it right away I would lose my deposit. But meanwhile she wasn't doing her work on the flood issues, so it wasn't until after I wasted the $500 that I was able to pull out of the purchase.
She told me the flooding was not a problem because "the HOA would cover it" and that I should have gone through with the purchase. I lived in a condo that flooded before and it was a nightmare dealing with the HOA. I believe she did not do the due diligence work I requested because she disagreed that it needed to be done. She did not listen to me or have my best interests in mind and just wanted to get as many commissions out of me as possible.
In general she seemed confused using texts and emails, was very slow to respond, conducts all phone calls on speakerphone so there is no privacy, and has serious issues with communicating clearly.
She also has a grudge against millennials.
Terrible experience both selling and buying. Would never work with her again. read more
