Two weeks ago I went to get my hair highlighted and was told my reference picture was achievable. I didn't notice until I got home how brassy and orange my hair was (and that the stylist said it looked great and let me leave the salon like that). The owner was very rude when I called in upset, almost in tears. I will never go back. I will never recommend. The owner called the woman that referred me to talk about me wanting a refund. read more

Moe did my hair on Tuesday. He know I only do purple in my hair. I even told him purple yesterday. For whatever reason, he did blue. He kept telling me it was purple. It's clearly not. He told me to come back and he'll fix it. I went back. He damaged my hair. My hair is falling out. He also burned my forehead. He tried playing stupid and acted as if it was already there. I have pictures of before and after. Another stylist approached me because he had her come over to tell me that my hair looked nice. Didn't realize my damaged hair and burned forehead look nice. On top of that, he tried covering the burn with toner. So now I just have purple toner on my raw skin. Avoid this salon. Everything was handled unprofessionally. I still have not been refunded. I had to go to the emergency room to be treated for the burn. read more

Racist salon. Would never go back in there. They don't really do good hair styles. All the women walk out looking the same. The salon is clean but the beauticians only know how to do a few styles. They don't know about eyebrows or nail care and the receptionist have nasty attitudes. It needs more work. Good setting clean environment but nothing to talk about. More bad than good. read more

Michelle does my nails, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. She does a GREAT job, and seems to know what I want before I do! The salon is clean, well run. The receptionist, Lolly, is also wonderful to work with! read more

Good Evening Public. I have never previously left a poor review for any business as I myself am a business owner. This is to show I am extremely upset for what this business stands and supports. I was casually driving past this business picking up my son from summer camp. As I was told by the coordinator of this school parents must pick up their children using one entrance and out of another for safety reasons. On my way, I was blocked by this "Karens" vehicle. As I pulled my window down to question why she was so angry, she flicked me of and asked that I go back to my country. I parked my car and told "Karen" that I was born and raised in this country. Nonetheless, I stated to her how I graduated college from a Catholic University with a degree in Political Science. The sad and most frightening idea about the whole situation is that not a single person stood up for me and my rights. I did report this crime of hate to the police. I was told that the salon doesn't even own the building, and instead they are renting the space. If you don't look "American" I recommend that you do not support or go this salon for any type of service. read more

Not happy! Went to get a simple bun, needless to say very dissatisfied and had taken it out before I left the parking lot!

It was going to be my first time at Jan Michael's Salon and Spa, and I was going to get a massage I had scheduled 2 months in advance. When I got there the door was closed and I was outside waiting for twenty five minutes. Than I decided to call, an associate answered the phone and told me that the lady that was going to give me my massage was not picking up her phone and that she believed she wasn't going to show up. So I called back to speak to the owner and he told me he was going to find out what happen and that he will call me back, as I could tell by his careless voice he never did get back to me. I am very disappointed I just don't know how they can do something like that to a new client. read more

Extremely disappointed with my experience here. I was scheduled for an updo and did not get anything remotely close to what I requested. I originally showed her a picture of an updo with a fishtail braid that I wanted. It was at that time she responded, "I don't know how to do that type of braid." I then asked if anyone in the salon knew how to do this braid? She then responded that she was going to be upset if she had to give me to another because she had an hour gap in which she was waiting for me. However, my appointment was scheduled for 1 and I was on time. Turns out no one in the salon knew how to do a fishtail. I said it was okay and asked if she could just do a braid instead? I showed her 5 pictures of similar updos that all just had a regular French braid instead. She confirmed she would do that for me. She was almost done and I still did not have a braid in my hair. She had a chunk of the side bang out and I asked if she would put a braid leading up to the bun. She said she would try. Then, turned me around in the chair and put 2 twists instead. I asked her to change it and she said it just wouldn't work and complained that I just had too much hair and the pictures I showed her their hair was probably right below the shoulder (my hair is to my mid back area). Needless to say after that I was ready to get the heck out of there. I go to pay for it and she says it is 60$ with my 20% off coupon for being a first (and last) time customer. I previously checked online when I was looking for potential salons to do an updo and it said it was only 60$. They need to update their website prices because 15$ is a big gap. When I got home I just took the twists out and added a couple braids myself and it looked a lot better and was what I actually wanted. When I called for an appointment I even asked if they needed me to come in prior to make sure she could do that updo for me. They said that wouldn't be necessary. I'm sorry, but how are you a licensed cosmetologist and don't know how to fishtail or do a braid? I would have been better off saving my money and doing it myself since I had to fix it anyway! Overall, I'm extremely upset with my experience at Jan Michael's Salon. I will not be going back because the updo was nothing even remotely close to what I wanted or asked for. She was very misleading and lied to me saying she would do something similar to what I asked for. Before booking an appointment here make sure they are capable of what YOU want done to your hair. read more
