The Club House entrance is around back
    Luke A.

Basics: $20 for 9 holes, $30 to play through twice, $14 for clubs, $9 for gas powered cart rental, $10 for 12 balls. A steal! No reserved Tee times, just come and play. 11-1pm is the busiest time. You might wait on a nice day for 45 min. Everyone was really helpful and nice. No pretentious people giving you a hard time. This is a great course for novice players who are just out for a fun day. The other players were very nice on what was one of their busiest days of the year. This is a great course for all ages and skill levels for the price. Something like 6 of the nine holes have some view of the ocean. It's beautiful and well maintained. How many public courses have ocean views!? There's some nice long par 5 holes and some fun short holes too. Nicely challenging, nothing spectacular in the way of bunkers or landscaping but very nice. If you've already done the beach this is another fun day in newport. If you're coming from newport over the Jamestown bridge, the exit is immediately after the toll (you cannot be in the easy pass lane to make it) Sign says Jamestown.

Need to include tee times, waiting to play there is a nightmare. Good luck playing there in the summer time.

The clubhouse is nothing fancy but good to get a hotdog and a beer.

This IS the best on Aquidneck Island and environs! A real test but beautiful! Inland linksy, great…read morecondition, super nice staff. Worth the trip and the extra $. A couple of forced carries but with very appropriate drop areas. Next year another 9 holes, clubhouse,& super duper practice facility! This is a real golf course that you'll want a second shot at.

This is an okay public course but so many golf websites have voted it 'best puic course ...' that…read moreperhaps my expectations overshot the actuality. The first impression is not great. Parking lot was crowded ... the bag drop station is utter chaos ... gravel roads ... and the clubhouse looks like a trailer. (I've heard about the new awesome club house being built for two years now.) The almost $200 is utterly ridiculous. This is not a $200 course. The nicest part was the cart with plush leather seats, accurate GPS (although we went off 'course' twice where our cart locked up and we had to drive 20 yatds in reverse, despite the cart ahead of us having no issue on the same path). The cooler in the cart stocked with ice and water was a nice touch. The greens here are the most difficult I have played anywhere. Even a 4 - 5 foot put, which I normally hit 80 - 90% of the time had about a 50/50 make rate. If you play this course often, you'll likely know where to hit the greens ... but for folks who don't play it regularly, prepare for a lot of 3 putts. The fescue grass lining the fairways is impossible. If your ball skips 3 feet off the fairway, it's gone. I had a lot of shots we saw land pretty clearly that ended up with a lost ball. I've never lost as many balls on a course before. I realize that this is part of the challenge of the course but I lost 9 Titleist Pro V balls during the round ... $35 worth! Normally I lose 1 or 2 balls per round. The course is so crowded that you don't have much time to look for balls in the high grass as the groups behind you are always on your ass. The fairways are immaculate here. They are literally as nice as some of the putting greens on other courses I've played. The course is in great shape and well cared for ... except we found each sand trap we encountered to be a significantly different softness than the others, making hitting out of them a challenge. Also, there was not one ocean view hole. Like the greens fees, the food is expensive. $22 for a buffalo chicken wrap. It was a damn good sandwich ... but overpriced. Also, a little too hot ... you'll certainly be feeling it the next day. Eating on the deck was weird ... it wasn't a very pleasant dining area ... kind of like that of a resort town mini-golf course. The whole restaurant/pro-shop feels like eating in a trailer park. The bathroom was utterly gross and smelly. Overall, I see no need to return here at these prices. From the sketchy net with holes in it hung from a tree vs. a driving range ... to the rushed pace of play, we didn't feel we got our money's worth here. True golf fans with deep pockets will find the course challenging and fun ... but those who prefer the creature comforts of a nice clubhouse and dining may be dissapointed. The best part of the course is the staff ... they are 5-star all around. Brusque but effective in the way you'd expect from a premiere course.
