However, Dr. Shin immediately recommended a qualified specialist and my son has been able to finally receive treatment. On a different occasion, I was told by several other dentists that my child did not require braces. I was therefore surprised when Dr. Kim recommended that we consider that kind of treatment for our child. When she noticed our surprised expressions, she carefully guided our family through the various reasons why braces would be beneficial for him. She was even willing to help pay out of pocket for us to get treatment at another ortho practice when she realized that finances were a concern for us. In my experience with the dentists at Tree Town over the last couple of years I have received up-to-date professional advice for the oral care of my children. The dentists strive for excellent care that takes into consideration the long-term health of our family and not just immediate temporary bandaids. Sometimes the advice is not what we may want to hear, but I have to remind myself that I would rather have professionals that know their craft and always strive for the best long-term care than others who only want to make me happy so that I can give them a good review. I have heard only positive feedback from others that I have referred to Tree Town. I started seeing Dr. Bunek in 2015 (Has it really been that long?!) at her previous practice. I then followed her to her own practice and I love seeing her in her element! Her studio is ultra chic, located across from the "Big House" with a bit of a Go Blue feel throughout - a nod to Dr. Bunek's training, I suspect. Her all female staff is super friendly and I have loved every hygienist that I've seen. Her style and detailed-oriented, aesthetic eye come through in her work, as well. I brought my twin boys in for check ups in February before the pandemic and had a great experience. I had to bring one of my boys back in July for a follow up. I was so impressed by the lengths they went to make sure the staff and Patients were safe. Dr. Amy was so gentle with my three year old and patient. She made him feel Comfortable and was as quick as could be. They do temperature checks and go over a list of questions before you enter the building. I feel confident to go back. My issue is that after just 2 hours from leaving this office I was in a crazy amount of pain while i was at the dentist getting fillings done, I asked if i needed a root canal because even though she numbed me I could still feel the pain .. she said no I don't need it and to stick it out we were almost done .. I have had fillings done before and they never felt like this.. I called the office and they wouldnt see me and told me to wait for my doctor to call.. I asked what do they do with emergency patients that were just seen there.. they had no idea and tried to act like what i was going through was normal... mind you I currently work in healthcare and in dental before. Warm, kind, patient, and professional are certainly what you might want to find in your neighborhood dentist and is exactly what you'll find with Dr. Lee and his staff. Fillings, cleanings, extractions, etc. I think they can do it all and with the bedside manner of an angel. He makes connections to agrees oral surgeons and pediatric care providers as needed. We had some Confusing billing issues a few years ago but I think they have that resolved now. They do have a propensity to do X-rays... Frequently and I'm Not sure that teeth need this so often but I chalk this up to their sense of thoroughness. We love that Dr. Lee contributes quite a bit to his local community in time and resources. A big plus in our society of inequitable access and provision of health and other resources. But I have to say, the COVID precautions at Oak Valley Dental are top-notch. They make sure you're not mingling with other patients as you move through the waiting area to your exam room. Each exam room has an air filter scrubbing the air. My hygienist and dentist are both vaccinated (as am I) and were double-masked. And they streamline the bill paying so you're not waiting at the front desk for payment to process. I was impressed both with how they adapted to the pandemic and to see that the first-rate skill and service I've come to expect from them had not suffered. It's a true film fest: part Texas Chainsaw Massacre, part Little Shop of Horrors, part Sante Sangre. But now I've gotten over my childhood dental neuroses with the help of Dr. Noonan. He is one seriously AWESOME dentist. He knows his stuff, and he has "the touch"--SO IMPORTANT for dentists to have. I also like that he numbs your mouth prior to the novocaine shot, so you don't feel anything harsher than the soft end of a q-tip. Ok, maybe all dentists do that now, still...it was news to me. All of his staff are super friendly too! If you're on the hunt for a dentist, you'll be "in good hands" with Dr. Noonan, fo' sho'.
