To be so I think would warrant different policies. Personally my CPTSD AND TRAUMA were made worse with the pressure and threats this office gives. First they pressure you to make appointments, don't listen to your schedule needs. In my last visit Dr. Dickerson was 20 minutes late for my appointment and then I was treated like there not being enough time to fix my tooth correctly was my fault. I came to feel that offices cannot be both trauma informed and gaslight, threaten and scapegoat the patient. It would benefit the staff to research about narcicism and narcicistic abuse so as to understand the trauma that already exists and what being egotistical maniacs that only seek money creates in society. A dentist shouldn't be so arrogant that they don't take into consideration the thoughts emotions and perspective of their patient. As before, she provided options and did a fabulous job assessing my teeth. I listened to her suggestion and was good to go with it..I wanted to get things done before I changed my mind again. Unfortunately it currently is scheduled a few weeks out, which is great, but it also conflicts with my work meetings and travel, so I hope I don't change my mind again and go a different direction. I went to see Dr Heller and he made me feel bad for not having amazing oral hygiene habits. Even after explaining my inability to access dental care for a long time. He made sure that i knew that having a goal of healthy functioning teeth wasn't good enough. i should shoot for whiter straighter teeth. he said deemed a bunch of work as essential that other dentists had told me weren't necessary, in addition to 2 more deep cleanings (i just got one) and a waterpick. multiple other dentists the cleanings would not covered by insurance were "not necessary" before we can talk about the "expensive stuff" (the gum graft) truly felt like he was trying to squeeze any and every penny out of me with no bedside manner whatsoever.

Made my first appointment yesterday by phone, and their front desk lady was extremely polite and very helpful; she took my insurance information and was able to schedule an appointment on the same day! When I got there, I was promptly assisted and didn't have to wait (like all practices I've been), got X-rays done really quickly and no pain at all. Then Dr. Morris came by, analyzed all X-rays double checked and explained what has to be done. I'm literally a chicken when it comes to dentistry, but here, I felt comfortable and Dr. Morris made sure I was 100% confident about all procedures. My search is over!

But seriously, the environment here is just that comfortable. Something that really stood out to me was the organization of the office staff. They've got it together and go out of the way to make the process easy for you. As an example, I had some issues with one of my dental insurance carriers in filing reimbursement paperwork. Dr. Morris's staff pursued them diligently - long after I had simply forgotten about it - and made sure our claims were paid. I got my teeth cleaned twice there, (and yes, it had been a while due to Covid,) but I do expect them to be clean after a regular and deep cleaning. Unfortunately, I still feel buildup when I floss. As for the billing, I ALWAYS end up with a balance that is due, even though they "estimate" and I pay in full in advance. When I'm there, they come up with a plan for the services I need, and it seems they take no responsibility for getting an accurate estimate from the insurance prior to the services rendered. They say it's an "estimate", but if the plan didn't change, then why am I being billed more. There is a reason why they always have availability, and I think I found out why. Shady.
