I waited 40 minutes with no updates and never heard the doctor's voice outside visiting other patients, so finally stuck my head out the door and asked for a nurse to see what was going on. They apologized but said he had been in his office with the door shut on a phone call and wouldn't answer their texts, and they weren't sure when he would be out. Well, I'm in the middle of my workday too and couldn't gamble on him deciding when to honor his patient's time, so I just asked for them to refund my money. Keep in mind, they charge you in advance for your appointment when you walk in the door and have a no-show cancellation fee within 24 hours, but then he apparently doesn't mind no-showing on his own patients that have already arrived...frustrating. They did, however, refund my money. Again, the staff was very friendly, but the office was also near dead - the waiting room was completely empty, so it wasn't an overscheduling issue - just a lack of regard issue. To be fair, this was my second visit and the first was fine...nothing great, nothing bad. His assistants are great, but it was unacceptable for a professional.

As a long time sufferer of my condition I requested to be put on a new medication, which she said I was a good candidate for, but that I would need specific labs done to get the process started. The very same day, I scheduled and paid for the independent lab services who send the results to the requesting clinic (Dr Charles office). Wait for my follow up appointment for two months. Second visit two months later, I arrive and am told Dr Charles is no longer with the practice, that they had no idea about the treatment plan discussed, that they don't have a dermatologist at that location who can handle the specific treatment plan and that I could schedule a new appt with a different derm all the way in Cleburne. They said they didn't even have my lab results and would have to request it from the diagnostic lab I went to. This all could have been a phone call. Not only am I having to leave work early to make this appointment, but the appointment is completely fruitless as it is essentially a rescheduling discussion that I am surely going to be billed for as an "office visit". Pardon me if I don't trust your practice or any of your referrals after this. There is obviously very poor communication even in terms of something so simple as patient medical notes. There is also clearly a lack of value for a person's time and money. The woman who did "see" me did leave me a voicemail shortly after the visit to "discuss the lab results" that had been sent to them back in March, however as I will be finding a different practice to handle my needs this was pointless. Not sure I even trust whatever she had to "explain" considering she couldn't even properly say the name of the medication I had been asking after. Perhaps this location will serve you well if your dermatology needs are purely cosmetic, which seems to be their specialty, but look elsewhere if you have a need for a medical dermatologist, especially one who values your time and business. There are plenty of options.

To make sure that something serious wasn't happening, and thank goodness she had brought this to my attention, because I am suffering from a severe rare autoimmune disorder which will destroy your kidneys , if not addressed with very Expensive and serious medication. It's taken me a better part of a year getting the biopsy and diagnosing this condition. So honestly I can't even begin to thank or repay Dr Wuu for her concern about my bloodwork results and her being insistent that I should have a nephrologist look at my blood work.. the medication is so expensive to treat this condition!! It's shocking 30,000 a month To 50,000 dollars a month!! Returned one month later for that and told her the spot on my face was still hurting. She removed it and pathology determined it to be Squamous cell carcinoma... skin cancer. Had to have Mohs surgery. I requested to switch to Dr. Tho Quoc Nguyen (may be the owner of the practice). I explained why I switched and he said, "maybe it was too early to tell." It was only one month between Dr. Wuu telling me it was an oil gland to telling me it was Squamous cell cancer. But I stuck with Dr. Nguyen. Latest visit I asked Dr. Nguyen to look at a spot in the same area on my face and he said it was an oil gland (just like Dr. Wuu said about the other spot being an oil gland but was cancer). I asked him to remove it and told him and his nurse that I wanted anything removed from my body to be sent to pathology. They agreed. They removed the spot on my face and one on my leg. I then inquired about a cream (flourouracil) to remove precancerous cells. Dr. Nguyen said it would be a good idea. The only instructions from Dr. Nguyen were to apply it all over the face twice a day for one week. Nothing about not applying to eyelids or near mouth nor how to relieve the horrible discomfort. No instructions from the compounding pharmacy either. Received a call regarding my pathology results for the spot on the leg. I asked about the spot on my face. The nurse said they only had one biopsy and said "she didn't know what to tell me, should she ask the doctor?" Um, yes! That would be a novel idea! She put me on hold to talk to Dr. Nguyen and then told me Dr. Nguyen did not send the sample from my face to pathology. Dr Nguyen said the cream would take care of it. The cream is only for superficial precancerous cells. Doctors should send all biopsies to pathology and even MORE crucial to do that for someone with a history of skin cancer and when requested by the patient. I left a voicemail for the office manager to transfer my and my husband's records to a dermatologist in Bedford and she could call me if she wanted to know why. She never called. Dr. Nguyen never called. No one called to check on how I was doing with the cream. Office staff called to tell me I had to sign a release for my records. Of course, I did that. NOTE: my research on the internet found this..... "A doctor discarding a patient-requested biopsy without pathology review is highly concerning and potentially constitutes medical negligence. Medical standards typically require all tissue removed from the body to be examined by pathology unless a formal institutional exemption exists. Discarding a requested sample directly violates patient autonomy, safety protocols, and legal medical waste."

Then provider saw me without looking at my medical history or medication list, which is extensive, then looked at my skin and made a diagnosis and determined a treatment plan without regard to asking me to explain what all I have tried in the past. Again, I didn't feel heard or like my opinion mattered from another doctor because of stigmatization against my mental illness. Please do not go see this provider's office. They give out medication without regard to what possible interaction between them there could happen. Received phone call from office manager explaining how it is possible for providers to pull information from previously seen providers and previously used pharmacy. I didn't know this to be a possibility. I do wish he would have verified the information he had seen on those records with me. Just because I have a prescription doesn't mean I take that medicine.
