Dr. Manney is the real thing in osteopathy!…read more I'm familiar with this medical care office through being a patient of the other DO at this site. Once when she was not available, I 'tried' Dr. Manney. I was very happy with the results: relaxation of my injured muscles, meaning the nerves finally were relaxing more, overall sense of wellness. She has good bedside manner, is informative when I had questions, but not chatty. When I go for a treatment, I want to focus on breathing and being "in" my body, relaxing, and really getting the full benefit of the treatment. Sometimes I get distracted and start talking. She did not interfere with my experience in that way. She has a lovely touch and seems very knowledgeable about the body and the practice of osteopathy. Thank you Dr. Manney!

I've had upper left neck and shoulder tension and pain for three years. I've done acupuncture,…read moreyoga, chiropractic and massage, all with limited results. I decided to try osteopathy, and booked a session with Avon. Wow! In one session, my neck felt completely different! Though the work was subtle and gentle, I could tell that I was in the hands of a skilled healer and that changes were taking place. After the session was over, my neck was so much more limber and fluid, and the pain was gone. I know the scope of her work is much broader than just musculoskeletal issues, but on that score alone, she gets my highest recommendation. If you're suffering from musculoskeletal pain and tension, go see Avon. She's the real deal.

Everything was "normal", but I still had terrible stomach pain every day. A friend with some similar issues told me about Dr. Leong. I made an appointment and saw her in her office. There is no waiting for her in her office and it is a calm, quiet environment. She spent well over an hour with me going over my issues and ordered a couple of more tests just to rule out some additional things. She had suggestions as to a couple of different homeopathic things to try. I followed her suggestions and began to feel better soon. We had another in person meeting and a couple of phone meetings. She even took the time to do some further research and emailed me more suggestions. I was getting ready for joint replacement surgery and I was terrified about what the medications post surgery would do to my stomach. Dr. Leong worked closely with me to find alternatives to some of the harsh drugs that are typical post surgery. My stomach came through it all with flying colors. Dr. Leong is a kind, caring and compassionate doctor. I highly recommend her and will go back to see her again should the need arise.

Complained of shoulder pain for several times after a car accident. No assessment was done. No…read moreimaging was done. It is likely that the spine in my neck sustained significant damage which was discovered via MRI after the insurance case was closed. The spinal injury radiates down my shoulder. The first time I experienced this was right after the car accident. Now I am absorbing the cost of medical mistakes once again. So far it has cost me $3000 in lost wages and likely $8000 in medical cost. It will likely cost me several more thousands in lost wages. A simple 3 minutes assessment and some imaging would have prevent this. I just paid off another medical error that cost me $5000, that could have been prevented by a doctor at her practice. Her response-pay payments-knowing full well that I have previously experienced additional financial loss due to medical errors. It took me 6 years to go back to the doctor after the first experience, only to experience more preventable errors from her and her office. This, after another experience event under her care in which my records are false causing more harm- emotionally, physically, and financially. Correct medical records could have help me recover emotionally, physically, and financially from previous medical errors. She said she wanted to advocate for me and help. The next breath she threw me under the bus. She was angry how I was treated by previous providers, then turns around and does the same thing, but worse. On a level from 1-10 mental anguish due to medical errors and lack of accountability from those who brush off valid concerns and cause intentional additional trauma is about 10000000/10. I am so done absorbing the cost of incompetence. I really wish we had a competent medical board in CA to take valid concerns.

I came in because of ongoing headaches and neck pain after a car accident. I wanted no medication,…read morejust osteopathic manipulation. Dr. Okamura was able to treat me for the pain, I can now say I am headache free and my neck pain is much better. I did the exercises he told me to do, patient participation makes a big difference in wellness. I would definitely return for musculoskeletal issues. Pain medication can be a useful tool, but I felt I would be better served without medication and Dr. Okamura was able to address all my symptoms adequately. I was a private pay patient so I can't comment on insurance billing. The office staff is very nice and the office building itself is quite comfortable and easy to access.

I also just read the review by Eric F. and also felt compelled to respond…read more Dr. Okamura has been my family's doctor for over 15 years -- we are both in our 50's. My husband had been admitted to the hospital twice in the past for medical emergencies -- he received only the best care from Dr. O and the San Ramon Medical Center and recovered both times. During one of the medical emergencies, at night and on a weekend, I called Dr. O's office, and he personally took the call himself -- most Dr's would have an answering service taking the calls! Not only did he advise me on all the proper steps to take for the next 24 hours, but I felt reassured as always that my husband was in excellent hands and in the hands of a caring doctor. We had to sadly switch health plans a year ago, as employers have made it so difficult to have private care. I cannot wait for changes to our employers health plans so we can return to Dr. O as our primary care provider. As for greeting us , on a normal basis he often would greet us with "Oh, you made it!" meaning "You were able to keep the appointment, I'm glad to see you!" We feel blessed to have been under the care of such a top notch doctor and would highly recommend him to anyone.
