First of all I have been going to Gardner Eye for annual eye exams, for several years, every time I…read morego you get a new optometrist. I assume they are straight out of college with little to no experience. Here's what happened to me, 3 weeks before my scheduled eye exam I experienced pain in my right eye, I thought it was dry eye, I purchased over the counter meds. When I had my eye exam Dr. Maliha Asadullah she agreed it was dry eye. She said continue with over the counter meds and if it gets worse make a appointment to come back. It did get worse so I made an appointment right before Christmas 2025. She prescribed prescription dry eye meds and a steroid drop. Still my eye did not get better, by this time I could not keep my eye open. I finally got a appointment with a ophthalmologist, my eye was infected. So I was misdiagnosed, told I had dry eye, when in fact my eye was infected. Worse part is the cost, $40 copay to see Dr. Maliha Asadullah, and the prescriptions cost over $150.00. Good luck if you go to Gardner Eye for anything but regular eye exams. I suggest you go to a ophthalmologist.

The issue was remedied and rectified and Audrey delivered well beyond my expectations. Gardner Eye Care has state-of-the-art equipment optimizing health for eye care. Their ophthalmologist Dana De Vito was sweet, very professional and explained my exam procedure in great detail. She was stellar. It was my first visit there but will be returning for my annual from here on.

I made my first visit to Ticho Eye Associates yesterday. There are several offices, and I was at…read moretheir offices in Tinley Park, IL. That is part of an Advocate Health Care office building and it is adjacent to a surgicenter just off the intersection of I-80 and LaGrange Road, very easy to find for all to find including Uber and Lyft drivers. There is ample parking. This was a yearly follow-up non-emergency appointment in a new setting for my ophthalmologist which included a new pair of glasses for me as I wanted to replace my older ones. My ophthalmologist is a provider at the practice and it was great to see her in her new setting; they are state of the art equipment and computer applications utilized. The staff are excellent. Part of the staffing include an optician who really knows her field. We found a suitable glasses frame very easily. The orientation of the practice accommodates all ages including pediatric care. As I came into the practice via Medicare, supplemental coverage and out of pocket, I do not know their insurance details. When making an appointment, I would ask about insurance coverage including optical. Note: if you wish bring your own coffee; there are vending machines in the space between the office complex and the surgicenter which is near the main entrance to the building.

Dr. Ticho was nice and sounded knowledgeable when we spoke with him about my 5-yr old daughter's…read moreneed for surgery on her tear duct. At that visit he also gave her a new prescription for glasses with only a brief exam (not the traditional exam she had with her previous doctor). Though his explanation for his style of exam made sense, it ended up being so far off that once we got the script filled at Moses Eye Care, she required a new exam and a new script from a second opinion. Back to the whole idea of the surgery... he told us to talk with his receptionist on the way out to schedule the surgery. She told me she doesn't do that and so she gave me a card and handwrote the hospital's surgical center's number at the top. She told me to call the lady named on the business card and schedule the surgery myself. When I called, the hospital laughed at me. They said only doctors can schedule surgeries and I had to go back to Dr Ticho's office to figure it out there. I don't think so! So - we will NOT go back to Dr. Ticho. It doesn't matter how good he is. The office staff was sick and coughing on me and my kids. The office staff was really rude (reason for not getting new lense script filled there) and they tried making me schedule a surgery for my own child (which cannot be done).Waste of time!!
