Ive been going for years. And need to stop coming here. It just gets worse and worse. I explain my issues with my contact lenses and then he recommends me a daily one (i had a monthly prescription previously) But when I go to the front and they tell me the price. I was shocked and im always forced to buy glasses even though i dont wear them. And they always want to charge extra by asking if you to add certain things. I went again recently to help being diagnosed with an issue ive been dealing with for months. I was prescribed a med and still am dealing with the same situation. I dont recommend buying lenses from them. Or even glasses. Theres other places even online thats a lot less expensive. Also, there was an eye doctor who was making fun of my little sister for not knowing which contact lenses do I wear. Like how would she know she's only 14. They only care about the business and not patient satisfaction. read more

Let me be that yelper that starts off by saying "if I can give this establishment a negative star I would!" Very unprofessional optometrist office, rude doctor and even ruder "wife" Dr. Albina is running some sort of Ponzi scheme in that establishment. if you want mediocre eye exam with mediocre selection of eyewear with a hefty price tag, this is the place for you!!! You are better off going to Walmart optical and paying half the price for more!!! He has no passion for his line of work, just has a passion for the BOTTOM LINE $$$ they will try to sell you additional items that you may not need or even ask for. I highly recommend checking insurance coverage before being seen by Dr. Albina! You have the right to personally know what your coverage is and what you CAN get and what you can't at this low grade sorry excuse of an establishment! I'm assuming that Maureen is Dr. Albina's wife, she runs the ponzi show there she will swindle you out of your money without batting an eye! Yet again I'm going to assume that Maureen is the office manager (wears the pants and wears them well) highly disrespectful and discriminatory against people of their own kind and minorities. Otherwise the staff seemed very nice and helpful trying to assist and oblige with the orders that were frustratingly given by the office manager. I don't think Dr. Albina needs a staff when he has his beloved wife "handling" every situation! I will be reporting to the BBB comments I overheard that I will not be sharing here on yelp do to the fact I will be perusing legal actions on the behalf of myself and Middle Eastern community! Which to me seemed to make up 65 percent of their patients. Buyers beware know your coverage before hand, ask questions, don't sign any paperwork, if you are not sure about products they are trying to sell or force upon you, DO NOT hesitate to let them know that you would like to shop around! It's your money, you are entitled to a second opinion! You are also entitled to call your insurance to see exactly what your office visit was billed for! Don't fall victim to their false information they may give you and or the false fabricated items they claim you may or may not need! My beliefs are hung up on common courtesy, compassion, and the love of one's practice! If you lack one of those, you are in the wrong field of training! People are humans, not a walking dollar sign. There are hundreds of optometrist offices in the Chicago land area let alone the south side of Chicago, but yet your patients choose your office to receive below average service with a hefty price tag! Not to mention the disrespectful, discriminatory, outlandish remarks between You and your wife! If you lack many of those moral standards I have stated and suggested, they have many wonderful classes that you and your wife can attend to better yourself and your Business! Word to the wise, "never spit in the hand that feeds you" never ever make derogatory or judge mental comments against your own kind! Never ever try to swindle those that come into your practice with limited finances for gain and self interest! Last but NOT lest have some decency and compassion to help those people in need that may not afford services or products that probably cost pennies on the dollar. Iv seen it with my own eyes, and I was ready to take my own checkbook out to help those in need! Patients just remember you have the ability to call your insurance provider and request a list of I care physician who will gladly except your form of insurance. Had an appointment. Apparently if you aren't able to return their confirmation call the day prior they will just take you out of the system for your appointment. Walked in to being told they no longer had me down. I worked all day yesterday and was not by my phone to return a confirmation call. Note to business..if someone makes an appointment and you decide to cancel them rather than trust the customer will actually come in, you're going to lose a lot of business. I became a patient here in 2009 before Dr. Albina and Dr. Hartman came to the practice (previous doctor retired). Dr. Albina is exceptionally knowledgeable, great to chat with, and always takes his time to answer any questions or concerns I may have. Front desk is very friendly and are also knowledgeable and the wait time is often quite minimal. I come in and out with the hour or less. The frame selection is great (though, I go in for contacts) ranging from adults, kids, and even sunglasses. They have Polish-speaking and Spanish-speaking staff as well. I will surely be a patient here for a long time to come! read more

I was a patient of Dr. Schwartz before he retired and have seen Dr. Albina once since then. He was knowledgeable and gave me some advice and insight into Lasik. I'm writing this review more for one of his staff members, Monica, who always has been very helpful and pleasant. She gets back to me in a timely fashion with answers to my questions. It's a breath of fresh air to find somebody who is always pleasant and happy to help. Most reviews are about the Doc but the staff is just as important. Great customer service! Eye glass selection is decent. But the Dr's and associates always go above and beyond. Best thing is that depending on script, they can cut lenses here on site. I walked in, had my appointment then went to lunch. I came back and had New Glasses! AWESOME!! I'll be back! read more

Dr. Hartman left, that sucks. The current doctor though is very nice so I'll stay. They also have a pretty new staff. There's a lady there that is very talkative and overshares. She friendly but careful shes distracted easily and prolongs your visit. read more

This place is the best! The staff is friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. The doctors are amazing and are great with their customers. Dr. Hartman is my favorite but the other optometrists are fantastic as well. Don't mess with your eyes, come to this place! read more

In December I had a visit to this clinic. After this visit they told me that the doctor would like to see me again for check up. I asked them if the insurance covers because if not, I can't come to pay because i don't have a job. They told me to not worry because the insurance covers since it's just a check up. Then I went to them in February. As I was leaving from my visit the same employee told me that I have to pay 95 dollars. I asked him why and he said that the insurance doesn't cover. I told him that "you are the one that told me that the insurance covers. Other than that I wouldn't have came because I don't have any problems regarding my eyes." Then he started bargaining me like giving me a discount, so I only have to pay 50 dollars. I said that i don't have any money on me so he told me that he'll send the receipt to my home in 50 dollars. Then in June I get a bill mailed to my house in 95 dollars. What does that mean? That means that they are liars. This clinic is bad. I don't recommend anyone to go to this clinic because they are thieves. I give them ZERO stars. read more

Check your bills - I was charged for $160.00 for transitions (which now I understand is too expensive), however, the transitions were never added to my glasses. I can't get a refund unless I come in for ANOTHER exam and of course another out of pocket cost. I have been trying for months to get this resolved with no luck! My suggestion look for a more honest eye care team. read more

Today 5/8/19 I got my eye exam from Dr. Albina - Eye Care Center at S. Harem, Burbank, IL. The place well equip and clean, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Albina himself was very friendly and comparing from other doctors I have experienced, he was very knowledgeable eye doctor. I do recommended Dr. Albina for eye exam and I surely take my family for their eye exams. The VA picked the right doctor for the veterans. read more

First and last time going there. Wasted my time there it was slow and understaffed considering she said they were behind cause they were busy and it wasn't that busy. And they gave me the run around several times for getting two papers. And they didn't answer their phone for one hour as I kept calling to speak with them about the papers they forgot/didn't want to give me. They don't follow protocols. They didn't give me my prescription after my appointment which they have to and they gave me an extremely hard time to get it from them. Will be reporting with the insurance also. Also didn't appreciate the smart comments from the dr about my kids, they are kids and got bored there of course they will be noisy after some time and they are kids I'm sure that's normal but maybe they would have behaved better if they didn't take so long, Was there for 3 hours! My point of view they were unprofessional and acting smart/rude at the same time. read more
