LOVE. I had a terrible experience with another doctor earlier this year (they made a massive mistake - I'll leave it at that), however, it's all good because it led me to Dr. Schwartz. (This is exactly why I love life - you get a little bad, and then a lotta good...just be patient and don't forget to look for the good!) When making my first appointment, the person at the directory wasn't too confidence inspiring. I got a lot of "uh..." and "umm..." before he said, "he's barely ever here....it's gonna be awhile...." Oh, boy. So I get bad news AND the dude who can help me isn't available? Great. I ended up landing an appointment within a couple weeks from that call, and I've seen Dr. Schwartz several times since then. I honestly don't even know where to start with him. He blows away every stereotype and bad experience I've ever had with doctors or the medical profession in general. Dr. Schwartz listens, is caring, is never dismissive, thoughtfully answers EVERY SINGLE QUESTION (including all the ones I start with, "So, I know I shouldn't but...I googled......."), is funny, unbelievably accomplished, methodical and thorough, knowledgeable, kind - should I go on? While his original assistant has since left, his new one (Mazie) is just as lovely, and all the nurses are great, too. My one nitpick is the wait times. I book early in the morning and still haven't been seen in under 45 minutes. That's rough when you work 9-5ish. That said, Dr. Schwartz never rushes the appointment, and for that I'm grateful. Expect to spend a couple hours here, and know that it will be well worth your time. I couldn't be happier to have found him, even if the road *to* him was less than great. PS I dare you to find a more accomplished doctor (just google him!). Anyone else his age would be sipping margaritas on an island somewhere, yet he's still going 200MPH and is in the process of writing a textbook for medical students, on top of everything. He's unstoppable.

Working with Vivian was a pleasant experience. She is very caring and patient. She paid attention…read moreto what I was there for and what I was telling her. I have tried many different modalities in the past, Hypnotherapy included, and they were all helpful in different ways. So when I was referred by a friend about what Vivian does, I decided to give it a try. The time it took was similar to Hypnotherapy, but it was all done in conversations using muscle testing (because our body doesn't lie, and it remembered more than our brain). She helped me to see what was blocking me, why that happened, and the lessons I learned from my problems. Although I was crying during the session, I was surprisingly calm when the session was over. It's been a few days after my session, now I felt I am more clear and more aware of what I need to do in the future if I want to get different results. If you have traumas from the past or negative beliefs about yourself, I highly recommend Vivian. Let her help you to see what can be changed and your life will be very different when you walk out the door.

I went in for a checkup and also just to have a doctor with my name on file in case an emergency…read moreever comes up. My experience with Dr. Grossman was just OK. Parking in the area is decent, staff was nice, and the waiting room was fine, so I can't dock for that. Dr. Grossman was open to listening to my concerns, but as soon as I was done explaining myself he simply told me to go to a specialist rather than doing an initial examination or providing any advice on what I could do in the mean time. I found this a little frustrating, I would have liked if he could have at least "dug" a little bit into what I was saying instead of saying..."well im not a ____ specialist, but there's a great one down the hall". I expect my PCP to at least provide some input to my concerns, even if it's not his area of expertise (after all a PCP should know a little bit about everything right?) Edit: i forgot to mention that dr. grossman has an uncanny resemblance to larry david (Seinfeld, Curb your enthusiasm). i found this a little entertaining, but no stars added for that

I hadn't been to see a real doctor for a physical in about twenty years, and I thought it would be…read moregood just to get a general checkup. My last experience with a doctor (dermatologist) was less than excellent, so understandably, I was a bit leery since this was another referral. I had complained quite a bit, so my girlfriend asked her doctor buddies to refer someone with a good bedside manner. Dr. Grossman was great. He came recommended as "someone I would send a family member to." I totally agree. Though I was completely healthy - which he confirmed, saying my blood pressure was that of a childs, I was impressed with his sense of calm and patience. He actually took the time to sit and talk to me and find out more about me than just who was my health insurance provider. He was not rushed and did not treat me like a cow he was trying to herd through the place like so many other practitioners. I actually think he cares about his patients, and not just about moving them through so he can get a fast buck! He answered all of my questions, and gave me thoughtful solutiuons. I actually think he cares - this is good considering he is a care provider. The front desk staff was courteous, and the waiting room had comfortable chairs with plenty to read while waiting. I was not waiting long either - only a few minutes after I had filled out my papers, and then only a few minutes more while in the examination room. One overly thick lady sitting next to me was complaining that it was too warm in there, but I found it nice since it was so cold and windy outside. Parking was easy too - plenty of cheap meters and local lots. If you want to be treated like a human, go see Dr. Peter Grossman.

I had to get a minor…read moresurgery, but the doctor I spoke to before (Harvard med student with no bedside manner - a "machine") made me feel so uncomfortable about the process, pain and billing with insurance. Exactly the opposite with Dr. Vercoutere - I was in and out of Greenbrae Surgery Center (also, amazingly professional) in less than 2 hours - and that includes having been put to sleep with a general anasthesic and taking time to recover. I event went straight to my kids ballet after! I didn't have an ounce of pain, never used my pain prescription, scarring appears like it will be minimal, and Dr. Vercoutere graciously followed up the next morning to make sure I was doing great. I am quite positive that by following my instinct, I made the right choice and wouldn't think twice about coming back to Dr. Vercoutere in the future.

After her pregnancy she eventually entered an inpatient addiction treatment program, where the MD stated that the ramp of opiates Dr. Toig had prescribed would have created an addiction in anyone and it was as if it was intentional. I then discovered a friend of mine had also seen Dr. Toig, and I will relay the facts of her encounter. Dr. Toig had performed a surgery to improve her fertility but erroneously left gauze inside of her, unfortunately rendering her infertile. Dr. Toig's office promised to somehow make this right, but was slow to act until they ceased corresponding entirely. My friend and her husband then decided to pursue a malpractice suit but legal counsel advised them that the statute of limitations had passed, coincident with when Dr. Toig's office stopped corresponding. I'm giving a 1-star review because my experiences were about as bad as can be.

Although I am still at the beginning stages of treatment for Chronic Lyme, so far I have nothing…read morebut positive things to say about Dr. Stricker and the staff at his office. I want to note that other reviews have been off base in what Dr. Stricker charges, or how his office staff behaves. Dr Stricker only charges $750 for the first appointment, and it is $400 for subsequent appointments. His office does have another doctor on staff as well whose rates are much more affordable. Additionally, if you have to wait for an appointment, it is likely because he is caring for another patient. He cares for many people who have significant illness and emergency situations and he is a specialist, so he should not be expected to be available anytime to meet your needs, that is what primary care doctors are for. I have heard stories of other Lyme 'specialists' who really are taking advantage of their patients, but Dr. Stricker works from facts and scientific evidence as well as probabilities of what could work best for each individual patient- typically with access to only a limited history. On my first visit to his office, I was feeling very nervous. I had recently received a positive ELISA and Western Blot test from my primary care doctor that my doctors had advised was likely a false positive due to my diagnosed autoimmune disorders, however, because of all of the symptoms I was experiencing, I was determined to be seen by a Lyme literate MD and from my research I thought that Dr. Stricker was my best bet for recovery. I chose Dr. Stricker because I felt that he has a stellar reputation, vast knowledge (and published journals) on Lyme and coinfections and experience in hematology. I am on a medication for a blood disorder that I will be on for the rest of my life, and I wanted to make sure that I was under the care of someone who was familiar with this, and how other medications might interact. Upon meeting Dr. Stricker, I instantly knew he was a great personality fit for me and my fiance. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and he has a sense of humor. During my first meeting with him, I gained additional respect for him because he DID NOT just listen to me and say, yes it is Lyme, instead he advised that my other conditions could be causing the symptoms I was experiencing as well. As I explained that my other doctors have been nothing short of befuddled, and continued to explain my symptoms, he suggested a battery of tests to rule out or in several illnesses and suggested that he could start me on a treatment regimen for H Pylori, or we could wait to get the test results back. I opted to start treatment immediately, and adjust as needed when we received results in 1 months time. Let me just say that it has been so many years that I have been suffering with this, and Dr. Stricker completely nailed what the problem was (or might be). Turns out I have Lyme, Ehrlichiosis and H Pylori. The staff at Union Square Medical Associates have been nothing but professional, friendly and helpful. Even when I contacted them under a tight deadline to get disability paperwork completed, and even though Dr Stricker was about to go on vacation, they were able to complete the paperwork before the deadline and send it all out for me via fax. I have called the office multiple times for questions or help getting medications, etc. Even though you usually have to wait on hold for a time, they are always helpful in any way they can be, and quick at solving problems or getting new medication requests/refills. I usually deal with Jenny and she has been wonderful!! I can't believe that anyone would complain about how they are treated in this office. I have been to many medical practices in my lifetime and this one has provided me the BEST experience I have ever had with medical professionals. I am really excited and hopeful to continue treatment with Dr. Stricker.
